In MLB if a manager of either team has a problem with the officiating and feels there was a call blown against them that they feel could effect the outcome of the game, they have the ability to call a "Protest". The game continues as normal, however, MLB will review the game and make a ruling. Virtually no protest has ever resulted in an overturn, despite how bad the call was.

Umps should be fined or docked pay for every miss call they make. After a number of horrible calls get suspended. Anymore they get fired. Last season umps miss called over 32,000 pitches. How many of those bad calls cost teams games? Time to make the Fast Trac call balls and strikes. Umps only get to call plays at the bases with replay because they miss so many.

Artie Burns well, 34,294 human errors behind the plate is a hell of a lot of mistakes. A umpires “human error” shouldn’t affect the outcome of a game. I’ve seen it happen too many times. The Fast Trac system is very effective. Perhaps it can be used a few times in a game as an instant replay on obvious blown calls. Do a test run. But the fragile egos of these umps will cry like a stuck pig!
