I was thinking about 18x8.5 - 45 offset with 225/40 tires. You think it will fit? My mk5 GTI is now on lower suspension. Now im using 17x7.5 stock and there is like 2 centimeters on the rear side and like 2.5cm in front between arches

Yes it should work but depends on how low you are you may have to pull and roll the fenders just so you don’t have any rubbing.

after having them for a while how have they handled???

I Mean you can run it and see how it works. You should be fine if you get the right sized tires. 45 side wall for a 17s 40 sidewall for 18s

Also offset is a big deal if you have 8.5 wide wheels you can’t go any further than 45 offset. Any more needs fender mods and or wide body.

They are not lightweight wheels but I think they are a couple pounds lighter than stock. They don’t feel heavy on the car. They feel the same or ever so slightly lighter than stock. What you will feel the most is depending on what tire you have. I’ve tried many different tires and they all feel different. Tires are a lot more obvious than wheels. Unless you shell out the cash for expensive light weight wheels.

Just the basic ones for now from ECS tuning. And yes you do need conical seat for most aftermarket wheels. The stock wheels use ball seat or rounded type. You can get whole lug nut conversion kits from ecs tuning.

If you don’t want to do a lug nut conversion you can still get lug bolts that are conical seat as well. That’s what I have on my other GTI.

Not unless you add serious spacers/crazy offset like 30 and wide body it. Like I said I’m running an inch lower 8.5 with no spacers and i still has to pull and roll the fenders.
