Cool. Im don't have headphones to truly experience but do own a rig4 and rig3. Im looking around now because i think maybe the rig3 setup had nicer sound. What do you think? They're definitely different right?

Hi, honestly on more than one musical genre I prefer the old Minirig 3 especially at normal volumes for example on light music, pop rock, I like the punchy and warm sound and I like how thicker vocals come out with a more open sound. I think there isn't a sonic upheaval with the new one but the signature is certainly more natural and defined. a greeting👋

Having just the sub3 on the mini4 adjusted by gain only ,gives it a disadvantage. But I have to 4's and sub and its impressive ,sometimes overkill on high gain. Not sure if I'll need anything else than 2 subs and 2 minirigs. Soundcloud have a great minirig page to test old and new stuff.

Are you using aptx codec with the 3? Have you noticed any difference between the 3 with better audio codec and 4 with a basic one?

Hi, yes Minirig 3 is connected with aptx codec; from my main device with which I tested and use them, minirig 3 goes in aptx with hd codec activated, while minirig 4 goes in aac with hd codec activated, Minirig 4 does not seem to be affected by the lack of aptx.

Great comparison 👍. It sounds like the 4 is a tiny bit louder and a bit clearer. But the 3 can sound a bit warmer but also a bit muddier (more strained). In the last song the 4 sound more composed. Hard to tell from a video. What is your opinion Zar DJ?

Hi, I'm liking the Minirig 4, especially at high volumes it seems to have greater sound clarity and greater power especially in the treble, but there isn't a drastic change, with the new app on the Minirig 4, even by setting the bass to the max, you won't be able to get more bass than the Minirig 3 with its old app, it's true that the Minirig3 at high levels can sound more confused, on the 4 you can distinguish the sounds better, but it manages to maintain more bass and this makes the difference if you listen at example dance music and with some pieces it seems to sound almost louder, or in any case you will only hear the difference in the high notes, in my opinion the minirig 4 is too limited by the app for now, it could do much better. I preferred the Minirig 3 on various genres, especially at normal volumes for example on light music, pop rock, I like how thicker vocals come out with a more open sound and you can make it sound even better with the 5band EQ.

I think we can all agree that if we already have the M3 there’s no point in upgrading to M4 for now……..if you don’t own one then it’s good idea to get the M4 to get the benefits of the new features. I was close on pre-ordering the M4 after the newsletter few months back but will probably stick with my old M2’s and M3 for now.

@@richmondstar4354 Yes if sound is the only factor you wouldn't need to upgrade in my opinion. But all the other stuff makes it a good upgrade for me. I use them a lot and the constant hassle with different charger cables, stereo pairing difficulties and the app that won't connect sometimes etc makes it worth the upgrade for me. But it has nothing to do with the sound as mentioned.

My speaker minirig 3 2.1 settup. I want add minirig 4 2.1 possible connect pairing minirig 3 and mini4 4.2 settup?

Hi, you can only connect them via cable, not having 2 I can't do the test but I think perhaps you could connect directly to a set of minirig 4, pairing 2 minirig 4 via Bluetooth and then connecting to each minirig 4 via cable a minirig 3 and its once sub, so everything should work but I can't tell you if the signal is then transmitted in mono or is divided into stereo also on minirig 3 and sub

Great video i can tell the m4 is a little louder and it sounds cool but the minirig 3 still sounds kinda better I dont know what do you think??

Hi, I appreciated the new signature of Minirig 4 which reduced the bass but increased the general cleanliness and the distinction between the frequencies especially at high volumes, a notable pressure at max and a better defined and managed sound for example on rock pieces where the 3 it was a little fuzzier but also on chill or jazz music in some passages of the low notes; even if there is not an exaggerated difference; you will hear the difference more near the max volume, I especially preferred the old Minirig 3 at normal volumes on various genres, with its sonic openness, its incisiveness and its warm sound with thicker voices, I feel that the Minirig 4 could still do better but in my opinion it is still limited by the app and at maximum volume it disfigures with the flatter sound, especially if you listen to dance, electronic or hip hop pieces.

Sounds like the MR4 is covered in cotton wool!...Not sure what MR is doing with the tuning of the new MR4's out of the box...I'm far from impressed. I'm passing on the MR4's. Saving up for either the Brane X or Mackie Thump Go and I'll still have my MR3 and Sub👍🏽😊
