Short Summary of the Update: Overdue. Long Summary of the Update: With no option to not generate the ugly terrain, the caves remain as they are: Too ugly to enjoy. Yeah. Also, don't forget that not all caves have been added yet. There are still dripstone caves to be added (which will be super dangerous if you're digging straight down) and also Deep Dark caves, which I guess will generate below zero when the generation was not only increased beyond the height limit of past worlds, but also has been expanded below zero, and bedrock has been moved 64 blocks downwards into negative Y values. Fun fact rule 2 and 3 are obsolete rule 2 (don't dig straight up) has always been dumb. If there's lava you can easily block it, if there's sand/gravel you will survive even without a shovel. Rule 3 (don't waste diamonds on a hoe) in the nether update hoes we're made really usefull, useful enough that I have a netherite one.

@@vinny5638 Another one. That game had anti-flood features so you couldn't break blocks if it would cause a big enough flood of water. So I made walls with water in them that were unbreakable from all but the top. We made a jumping spider arena with the spawner blocks they had for one or two update versions. I made a room full of spawning goblins to guard my base, activated by a lever. I used a teleporter block to teleport a torch and a C4 block so I could nuke anywhere on the map from my bunker as long as I had coordinates. We explored a huge tutorial land map in an rpg version where swimming was a skill and we couldn't get off a tiny boat. Diablo rose from the ground one day and somehow my friend's house caught fire and burned to the ground so I built a stature over the ruins cause it was funny. @@Dudebox64 Minecraft is fine as a 3D simple sandbox, and it has its own nice lore and style. Terraria definitely outdoes it in terms of content, but I think that’s in large part do to the fact that terraria is more of an RPG than a building game honestly. Most of Minecraft’s content centers around large blocks with specific functions and set varieties; terraria’s block palette is both far more varied but also far more random. The progression differences are where terraria really shines, because of its class system and the stages of the world/bosses (and as a result the item tiers). Because of the heavy, heavy focus on combat in terraria (enemies literally constantly spawn), there is just more room for a wide variety of play styles, weapon types, and enemies. Minecraft’s combat doesn’t have much depth to it, and the item progression is essentially the same as it was in the early days (plus netherite). Minecraft has always done ok with it’s simpler survival setting, but I agree it really has so much more potential than it is showing with the currently limited systems it has. Personally I think a copper tools/ armor stage would be a really neat addition, because firstly the ore is really damn common playing in the snapshots, and secondly it could act as an easily acquirable chain mail tier substitute, or maybe an iron substitute but with way less durability ( or charged armor like simplysarcs vid). I think Minecraft has a lot of potential to explore, but with too many limits set by the original simplistic survival game to go all out like Terraria does. I love both games, but for much different reasons; Minecraft was never really combat- or progression-centric, and i think there’s potential for growth in this area, but I play it more for the building and the redstone anyway; terraria has excellent, tight combat and progression and 2d pixel perfection. Love em both, regardless of where each shines :)

They should decrease the chance that ores appear exposed, there would still be alot of ores to find in caves, but not enough to render mining useless

@@legion-lt4hp I hope so. Big caves make the current ore gen feel small in comparison. I also hope they add a way to light up larger areas since getting light onto the walls of these caves is going to be a real challenge. Either larger aoe lights, or throwable lights like the torch launcher (mod)
