If anyone is interested, I built the ~90% efficiency farm shown at 14:40. For a small group of friends on a server it was simple to build and is generating far more than we need. 5 blocks of space between the level the beds are on and the golem spawn floor, and a 10 block fall to the collection/kill area below that.

If the entire square is spawnable that gives 256/256 = 1. 1-1 = 0 (0)^30 = 0 1-0 = 1 Probability of spawn success = 1 (guaranteed) if all blocks are spawnable, which makes sense. Of course, if there are less than 256 possible spawnable blocks, n/256 will give us the proportion of possible spawnable blocks e.g.128/256 = 0.5 (half of possible blocks are spawnable) I hope this made sense, please let me know if I'm not very clear or if there is another question.

I love that this guy doesn't assume I want the most efficient farm to ever grace this mortal coil. Sometimes I just want to throw something together that will run when I'm at my house. I need a design that fits my exact balance of easy & cheap building prosses, as well as a good yield, all without ruining my entire base's aesthetics. Thanks to this video, I know how to do that for any server I join!

Love the video! This video shows the commitment to your understanding and knowledge of the behind the scenes and technical aspect of Minecraft. Most of the time players only care about the number of items obtained through the farm. This is what real efficiency looks like! This sort of technical stuff is for those hardcore(not specifically world players... it is an expression) players that want to maximize their farm rate through math.

21:10 A couple of weeks ago Docm made a speaker system to trigger every night on Hermitcraft. Because of the exact same problems you mentioned with daylight sensors, he used villagers going to sleep as a timer to trigger the system. As they go to sleep before the player can, this could potentially solve the player sleeping issue by using a separate villager not being scared going to sleep as the timer?
