I actually quite like how the spore flowers spread their particles out more. It allows you to create atmosphere without putting a flower on every block.

I think it would be better if they just toned it down by a couple blocks, not make it limited to 1 block, but like, make it spread about 5 instead of what seemed to be about a 8-9 block spread lmao

It would be better if there was an option to scale it based on signal strength of a line of redstone. That way, you have a highly granular amount of control.

@@pinecone7618 hard disagree, not everything in minecraft has to be a cube, things can sometimes be more detailed (like grass and flowers, they arent all super blocky but still look good and provide details for builders to use!) The only thing I'd change is make the little spore particles yellow like pollen instead of green, they look a bit odd being green.

I don’t like features that are just shoved in just for completion, and Minecraft is great at not doing this Like for example, honey blocks and slime blocks, the community wanted slime blocks that didn’t stick to one another and mojang didn’t just give a new slime block that was dyed, instead, when the bugs and bees update was introduced, they found the perfect way to do it and it was through honey blocks I like that Minecraft doesn’t operate in a “I like that feature so I’ll add it” which gives room for more unique blocks that can give more atmosphere, maybe more flowers and blocks like crying obsidian already give particles

Fuck, I've dropped the game for a while, once the nether update happened. I made a Hardcore survival, got pretty far, but got bored. Made another hardcore world for this snapshot, and so far..I recognize VERY little about the caves, like they made them so much better! I'm not too far in yet, haven't reached the nether yet. But so far with the cave system, I saw 2 giant paths which lead to dead ends, but this tiny, like, 3x2 path buried under some gravel, actually lead to a giant ravine, and then that! lead to a dungeon, and 2 giant craters of deepslated caves. They really nailed this update so far! Can't wait till the warden get's added in.

You know what would be a really cool idea for the spore blossom? The ability to use it to create ambient particles of any type. This could work a few ways: putting it on top of certain blocks, putting certain items on it, crafting it with certain items. Particles are something that can really enhance a build, and giving players the ability to manipulate them in survival would be really cool. You could even have a way to change the way they come out of a blossom; having a smaller/larger area covered, density, direction they travel. These could really add a new element to establishing an atmosphere in a build

Which makes sense, because Perlin noise is very easy to generate, and it looks like the new system is just applying different filters and thresholds on top of noise generation.

I think a great solution to the fact that with 2 variations of each ore, regular and deepslate, your inventory will fill up with ores twice as fast because you can't combine deepslate and normal ore stacks is to make it so that ores don't drop ore blocks when mined, but a "crude" or "rough" form of the ore, so that iron ore and deepslate ores will each drop crude/rough iron, meaning you could stack them together but would of course still have to smelt them.

The ore distribution chart shows Lapis with a rectangular and triangular representation with only the rectangle stating "No air exposure". From my observations, that does not mean Lapis would generate encased all the time now, but rather, the frequency of which you'll find Lapis encased (i.e by strip mining or the like) is a constant frequency than that of finding Lapis exposed to air blocks which is dependent on the Y level. In other words, encased Lapis chances of spawning is constant while exposed Lapis chances of spawning is still dependent on the Y level. When it comes to the Diamonds and Gold having "Reduced air exposure"; Diamond and Gold ores will have some blocks being encased more often rather than being exposed to air yet the frequency of ore spawn still abides by the Y level-dependent ore distribution regardless if it's encased or not. Sure you are on the level of which Gold/Diamonds have a higher chance of being spotted, but some of those blocks aren't exposed and requires you to mine blocks to find it.

My takes on the stuff: -New ores, cool. I still think they need to be universally stackable for the smeltable ores - maybe something like "Rough Gold" or "Rough Iron" for the smeltable ores, letting you stack them all. -They're most likely using the top texture of "Deepslate" as a test on how it looks in the caves or something, but having it all around would be preferable. -Also on Deepslate, it's a cool name and all, but Grimstone not only works as a more dreary block name, but also goes in line with the other stone variants (especially Blackstone). -The spore radius probably needs to be toned down? Like it's cool it spreads but maybe don't do it that much lol -I see a lot of people don't actually like the new textures for ores, but I think they look really cool! Except iron. I dunno why, I just don't like it as much. -The "Deepslate" mineshafts look really neat with the chains. That's all, I just like them. -I like how the more useful ores (especially diamond) are less common to appear on the surface. It definitely means that, even with large caves, you'll need to search well for some!

Waterlogged underground areas are such a pain in the bricks to navigate, much less mine. Now they’re adding a whole underwater table near rivers, at the base of the world, and in the mountains. It would be fine, except all the ways you used to be able to deal with that (quick torch or door for air) are gone now with waterlogging , and you can’t instantly refill your oxygen meter and go back in the water to get ores. They need to add some kind of way to get rid of massive amounts of water. There’s no way to breathe in water without potions, which are extremely difficult to obtain until lategame , and trying to mine anywhere near water is abysmal because of the slowdown and the fact that valuable items can get sucked into the floor of the cave with bubble columns.
