It seems they typically try to make it somewhat realistic. If I take actual quartz crystals and process them into a block of some sort, it's not possible to recreate that crystal from the block. Certain things you do are one-way operations, like firing clay into terracotta, which typically are supported in the real-world.

Spyglass is redundant for anyone who uses optifine. (And before you say "you could say that about any feature, optifine is a much different example) They said they had 1 other plan for it. But honestly it's a huge disappointment so far, it feels like the wandering trader all over again. In Terraria Amethyst is used for loads of stuff, like patterned glass, staffs, grappling hooks, giant gem stones, robes and stuff like that.

My guess is for trading emeralds to an archaeologist (some of the treasure items added) or yields resources in an interesting way. Maybe fortune can be used to increase yield on the tool for it. To me it's a fine idea but in some cases seems like free resources and others seems like they just wanted to add whatever activities they do in real life into the game (I assume) which while cool without enough depth to the feature will just be pointless and feel like it was added for not a strong enough reason the player will find themselves using.

Yeah that is surprising. Maybe they don't have any ideas for how it could be different to iron, and also why we don't have a gold door either. I think it would be cool though for decor and different redstone purposes due to the timing of the pressure plate, button and so on.

It's to incentivize people to manually farm it while not completely denying the automated strategy. With some mechanics in the game, there is no reason to do something manually as opposed to just making an automated farm. With Amethyst, each strategy has it's benefits and downsides.

You can also reverse the oxidation by using axe by right-clicking on it, same way you can remove wax on copper blocks to scrape away the oxidation per level so lightning is not the only way to remove oxidation.

Now you can train karate in minecraft, wax on wax off...

Hello Xisuma! I'm not sure where to post this but I've come up with a few crafting tweak datapacks that might fit in with your other vanillatweak datapacks. Ive made dye mixing: makes it so you can combine more dyes and derive more dyes from plants, notably cyan from warped blocks and brown from brown mushroom. Netherite melting: allows you to smelt netherite items in blast furnaces like iron ang gold gear to get a netherite ingot back. Blast Kiln: adds the stone, glazed terracotta and other smooth variant block recipes to the blast furnace.

What if you could Wax floors or any block to make it slippery like ice! That would be cool, along with a slime block in a mine cart to allow building moving entities.

I really hope they make it so you can see through lava in creative mode too. That is one of the most annoying things when working with redstone in the nether.

I feel like if you hold honeycomb, all waxed blocks get a changed texture/indicator so you can see what blocks have been waxed, in a similar way to how barrier blocks work

It would be cool if we got Azalea wood. It could have a creamy-yellow hue. There's also a lot of fancy spindly furniture made from the bushes, so maybe if you put the bushes in the crafting table in the stairs pattern, we could finally get chairs!

Combing Vines and Glow Lichen will be great for detailing builds!

Lightning rods which are crafted with copper emit a redstone signal when hit with lighting

I feel like amethyst should do something redstone related too considering that crystals are used in electronics and quarts is already used in redstone, also maybe amethyst could be used with redstone to make a new light source with a larger range almost like a floodlight

Have any of you watched Simplysarc? He suggested Copper could make magnetic fields that could potentially change local gravity for anything that was wearing metal armor. Also copper armor that had it's own special abilities would be cool.

Quick idea, what if you could right click a slime with slime balls and it would grow slightly? There would obviously be a limit, but it would be a really cool achievement. Maybe if you got a slime to the size limit, it would explode into smaller slimes, giving an achievement.

You can also use an axe to remove stages of oxidation from the copper blocks. It has a similar particle effect to waxing/unwaxing but instead is greenish.

I agree. 1.15 was one of my favourite updates. I can't imagine playing without a hold/togle switch for crouching.

Hey Xisuma tecnically the copper didn't unoxidize it reduce back to metal state. It goes Cu0 to Cu2+ oxidize and the back when the lighting hit the rod it goes Cu2+ to Cu0 it reduces, is like the electolyses of the water, roughtly. Nice vid like always!

I'm colorblind, and the sugarcane texture change makes it looks really green

I wonder if placing Gold Blocks under a lightning rod allows to conduct electricity like you would redstone power and activate some machines, maybe like super-charge redstone machines which makes them behave differently than normal redstone stuff (electrified redstone = transfer redstone power better?)

I really like Grian’s idea of a naturally spawning slime boss that occurs when slimes clump together in the world, would be a super fun addition to the game

Try right clicking a weathered copper block that isn’t waxed with an axe and you’ll see you can now reverse the oxidation of copper. I didn’t see this in the patch notes so I don’t know if it’s going to stay.

Hi Xuma I was just thinking about how you said there is a graphics update so I was wondering if that applies to bedrock and if bedrock could even use resource pack again (shaders) I love your videos hopefully you see this🙂
