Have you had to warranty anything yet? Just how good is this warranty? Can you walk into Lowes and grab a new one off the shelf? Everything breaks eventually and the actual cost of this warranty will come home to roost in the following years. For now they are kicking this cost(can) down the road. How long will Flex continue with this Founders Warranty? Cutting off the warranty may dis way future buyers that "didn't get in". It does seem like this is the first year we are seeing any decent deals on Flex, perhaps this is the make or break year for this line of tools, because the last couple of years these tools have been sitting on Lowes shelves not selling and knowing the nature of lithium batteries if they don't move them off the shelves within a couple years ...they will go bad. Maybe they can improve the shelf life of batteries with a dual charge system that includes some form of induction charging, in this way you could recharge the batteries through the packaging.

I'll be picking up Flex's 24v hammer drill for the same reason. I currently have the 2804, 2904, 998, and XPH14. In terms of performance they are virtually identical. Anecdotally I'd say the miniscule differences in power would shake out this way: 2904. 2804. XPH14 and 998. However the differences are very slight. If someone had these ranked in any order I would not disagree. However, if I could only have one it would be the XPH14: it has the right combination (for me) of ergonomics, superior durability/reliability, and enough power to do any job I do. The thing that keeps me from ranking the Milwaukees higher is reliability. I simply can't trust their triggers. In fact, ALL my Milwaukees have that problem. The Dewalt is great too. Love the 3 speed transmission. It's great for versatility.

I have the inline circ saw. I love the saw. The battery that came with it is good. However i picked up a second 5ah battery last sunday and discovered it was leaking a black goo. It was battery acid. Lowes changed it out. The salesperson checked all the batteries in the case and they were all ok. But makes me wonder if their QC is doing its job?? I have had many milwaukee battery failures but none ever leaked. Not really thrilled with any brand at the moment.

That's not such a straightforward answer, Short would be. I wish I had more. We had two roofs Shingles in the attic the roof Leaked, I got very sick like deathly sick and had to throw away everything I've ever owned. And restart I spent two hundred thousand dollars on just stuff cars clothes appliances. Down payment on new house. It's been pretty crazy
Bro first off I’m glad to hear you got some relief. Second, I was switching when flex had their first big release, and had they had the sander and router in that one, I probably would’ve went with them over Milwaukee. And last, THAT VAC CAN HANDLE A PLANER?!?! 😳

Every manufacturer makes a Lemon it's just the nature of the beast however FLEX is the exception to the rule. All their tools are number one in its class plus these are 1st generation tools. Charger technology is #1, by far, battery technology is the industry leader by far. FLEX in bar none above the competition with real world warranty unlike that garbage LSA from Ridgid. FLEX is the only company to give PACKOUT competition with only 5 pieces and 5 months in. Imagine that!

I have the inline saw. I love the saw...but went to lowes to get a backup 5ah battery. It was leaking a black goo.😡 Lowes exchanged it but it makes me wonder about their quality control. I'm not giving up on future purchases from Flex but I'm going to be cautious about buying tools that really might not be necessary.

@@toolsandtactics flex says its ok??😳 That right there erodes my confidence in them even more. If its truely battery acid then its not ok. If its its something else...then what? Lube?? Considering the price of their batteries maybe its lubrication....🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

@@toolsandtactics the package i bought first was more than a "spot". 1/2 of the battery was covered in it. It took a sheet of paper towel to wipe up the battery and there was plenty left in the plastic package.... I suppose if one of their stack lithium batteries have a "thermal event" they will say thats normal too?!!

Right now you get a free tool when you buy a 3.5 ah battery and charger. Amazing.
I've been wondering when they would come out with a miter saw and table saw. It dawned on me last night that maybe new tools are not being added to their lineup because they're made in germany and they have an energy and resource problems with the situation in Ukraine. What do you think??

Maybe but also they extended the lifetime warranty

Because they look cool along with milwaukee. Then Dewalt since it's colors are ugly
clunky to hold and operate....heavy as lead....batteries dont last long...and by far the ugliest black and grey color scheme ive ever seen...... i would rather have hercules if i had to pick between the 2, if that tells you anything...
