DeWalt and Flex Compared, Who's Stacked Lithium is Better?

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

We give you a tool comparison using Flex's entry level 24-volt 1/2-in Brushless Cordless Drill (Model #FX1171T-2B) against the newest DeWalt XR flagship 20-volt Max 1/2-in Brushless Cordless Drill (Model #DCD800D1E1) using the newest DEWALT 20V MAX POWERSTACK Compact Battery (Model #DCBP034). This was a highly anticipated tool comparison simply because Dewalt and Flex are the only two tool brands to offer stacked lithium-ion pouch cell battery packs in the tool industry. We also compared flex to DeWalt using flex's newest 3.5 Amp-Hour Stacked Lithium-ion Power Tool Battery (Model #FX0321-1)in this tool comparison of drilling through standard building materials like 2"x4" studs and 1/2" osb sheet material. Driving tests we're also done in this Tool test comparison using drywall and wood screws as well as self tapping sheet metal screws in to metal 20 gauge steel studs to give you the best information on the newest tools for the construction industry.

    We still need to see the Kobalt xtr and the flex going head to head in that flex is what's next tool video. Y'all built that set up to see the weight lifting ability and the DeWalt shit the bed....with and without the stacked lithium. We need to see these things.....and I mean all the things. DeWalt, Kobalt, Milwaukee, Flex and Makita are really the only ones that can keep up with each other in most of the tests. We need to see all the impacts, all levels since we got multiple pricing and strength, if they have stacked, normal, high output batteries.....ALL THE THINGS. People run these tests on other channels, but we only see the edited videos and they tell us what the other runs showed......y'all do live streams and all kinds of stuff beyond that. We need to see all of them, no (#) dolla hollas until the end. Y'all just talking shit and running the tools to see what's better. Switch up operators so y'all all have opinions and give it to us straight man, what is the best. You all have opinions, but you're also honest when y'all are impressed. Numbers and torque specs only get you so far when the real deal was that Milwaukee was the strongest and most capable in a lot of things, but their bit retention sucked. For their price, they should have given everyone who had a gen 3, a 3.5, if you sent it in, not make you prove that it had problems. For the price of DeWalt, there is absolutely no reason that every single one of their tools you guys test show problematic, shitty trigger fails. If the flex is going to be what's next, how many tools do you have to buy a box of shit for to get a tool. Apple and Samsung don't send chargers in their boxes anymore because of excess trash.....what is flex doing?

    I really want to like De Walt, but I have never seen a listing that clearly indicated the model number, and where in the lineup it fell with power and durability. The fact that they do not list inch/lbs when listing torque makes it seem like they want to hide something. There may be a system to their model numbers but I haven't figured it out. You can't go solely by price because the buy this and get that for free specials all tools have. My conclusion is to buy something else.

    So let me get this straight here. The “better quality” here of FLEX is simply which tool can run screws into the wood the fastest? I’m sorry but faster doesn’t necessarily mean “better” to me, not when it comes to power tools. Now, being that as the one guy says setting 2 of the FLEX product in this case, is runs at a higher rpm speed, but it’s not that much faster. Besides, it’s gonna take a lot more than that to get me to switch brands when Dewalt is so universal. They have so many different interchangeable batteries that are compatible with any 20v Dewalt product. I believe it’s over 200 Dewalt tools now. I’m far more concerned about product longevity/durability and versatility than a 0.2 second faster drill time per screw. Besides, that small of a margin, or however long that was on average, doesn’t add up to “better” performance. Sometimes, it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Also, that particular analysis with combatant 1 using FLEX and combatant 2 using Dewalt is sort of comparing apples to oranges. It’s not hard to see that the guy using the FLEX was just faster at getting the screws into place faster than the guy using the Dewalt. I guess anyone can have a bad day. They should have done a rematch or maybe get 2 identical robots or machines that can hold the screws put them into place above the board in exactly the right spot so all the contestants have to do is run the screws into the wood. FLEX seems to make a decent line of quality products in the power tool market, and most have a nice looking design too, but how many different universal or interchangeable batteries and tools do they have out? Somehow, I don’t think it’s anywhere close to what Dewalt has…at least not yet.

    This is why DeWalt made a big mistake for the US market calling it a 20v so people wouldn't confuse it with their old 18v lineup. This test is basically a 18v DeWalt vs a 24v flex. In EU DeWalt calls them what they really are. The 18v XR series and as far as I know we don't really have any problems over here. I'm even amazed DeWalt don't get sued by marketing a 18v tool as a 20v? When it's really not? Especially in the US.

    Why would anyone get a drill driver and not just a hammer drill at this point. Are the prices that different?

  • @akaredcrossbow

    @akaredcrossbow

    2 жыл бұрын

    Some people use just a drill driver dedicated to run, spin a specific tool everyday. Some people just use a dedicated hammer drill just for smaller tasks in concrete everyday. It just comes down to wear and tear. In most cases a drill driver will be cheaper to replace than a hammer drill, and I would rather destroy a drill driver before I destroy a hammer drill. Not everyone uses a drill driver or hammer drill, to drill into wood, so in a way it makes some sense. I have both new Dewalt DCD800 drill driver and DCD805 hammer drill and they are both amazing tanks.

    Its really dope to have a tiny drill with a ton of power that I can fit into my bag real quick. The hammer part is a waste of space imo. I have one but most often use the more compact non hammer types usually.

    So what tool you should you buy whatever cheaper in cost and the platform you want to join flex is new so they a wild card but there well know in Europe and do own ego so they might not get into lawncare so don't expect any mowers or weed Wackers. They also own skill.
