*Works great **MyBest.Tools** . Little lacking in power. You just have to cut a little slower. Compare to Rockwell pretty similar experience but cheaper price tag for this one. Love the lightest. Cuts accurately too.*

This is a fantastic presentation! I have an older Milwaukee 6 1/2 inch non fuel non-brushless and it's been a real workhorse. It's getting kind of tired so I was going to take the plunge and get a 7 1/4 milwaukee (I am heavily invested in the Milwaukee battery ecosystem with all my tools) One of the reasons I wanted to go to 7 1/4 is sometimes 6 1/2 inch blades are hard to find at my local big box store and I got tired of that. But then when I started looking at the 7 1/4 inch Milwaukee saws, the blades are on the right and being right handed I thought this might impede my line of vision making a cut. I'm really convinced after this video that I would be very satisfied with the Milwaukee 6 1/2 inch fuel model, it really would serve all my needs as a general purpose handyman. thanks again for posting.

I work for a general contractor. About a year ago one of our framing subs showed up and let me use his 6 1/2 fuel and I’ve been dreaming about it ever since. Just about ready to pull the trigger on it

I own a roofing company and ha e used my 6.5 Milwaukee non fuel for 12 years and it’s been fantastic. Just so happens we are currently doing several projects at our own home and me and my boys have been wanting the 6.5 Fuel version but just never could really justify since we have the 7.5 worm drive Skill but all the tools, every saw we own is happened to be located 20 miles away at a huge log cabin we are roofing currently so perfect time and excuse to go get the 6.5 Fuel! Another little glitch while standing there we seen the 7.5 Fuel and the. We were like “well shit, which one”. Dude, my boy searched google for input and I searched KZread for input while we stood there in the isle and your video pointed all obvious we already knew so we were like well f even this dude says the same so we got the 6.5 and man WE LOVE IT!!! We don’t cut much more than 4x8 plywood and 2x4’s 2x6’s. The 6.5 Fuel is a dream boat, man she scoots effortlessly, much less strain, you can hear it and feel it than my tired basic M18 6.5. Excellent video and thanks for helping us as we stood there watching you in the isle of HomeDepot😂👍🙌

Why is it best you have used?

I had an old skill saw 7 1/4 and it finally bit the dust. I replaced it with the Fuel 6 1/2 and love it!. It is just as powerful (maybe even more power), lighter, and quieter. I am a DIY guy and only have 1 saw. The Fuel 6 1/2 is perfect for what I need. I like to buy quality tools just once for anything I really intend to use. I like the blade brake and feel this is a very safe saw.

Are the motors the same in these two saws? Why didn’t you compare to the Fuel 7.25” and the Furl 6.5”

@@tjstrain280 It is my understanding that the motors are the same (per review by "A Concord Carpenter). I did compare both fuel versions. I also liked blade left. It will cut a 2x at 45 degrees.

Build Guild n’ Refine TV I use my 6 1/2” almost everyday just because it fits in my packout box real well. It rolls with me everywhere lol. My rear handle saw I plan to use at work as well, but it’ll stay in the truck and I’ll grab it whenever I need it. But I love both!

Cameron Price yeah, I find myself using my skilsaw very little now simply because the 6 1/2 fuel is so powerful for a little package! But I carry everything around in Milwaukee soft bags just because I usually take one of the work trucks while my guys have the work van so it’s easier for me to travel lightly...But once I get this enclosed trailer soon I want the pack out!

Build Guild n’ Refine TV you’ll love the packout set up. It’s expensive but the concept of it is so convenient. I have my stack I roll around with me everyday. Even my bosses have started buying packout so they can attach their stuff to mine for me to roll into work 😂

You make a really good point, especially for the money it’s a fantastic saw in feel and performance!! And you really can’t go wrong with it!! What are your thoughts on the rear handle?? I got rid of my DeWalt flex volt rear handle and picked up the Makita battery rearhandle as well as 36V track saw and compact router with track kit. So I’ve got some reviews for the Makita to finally come out

I have a skilsaw, 30 years now and still works fine, and is left blade side. I tried a right side blade saw and just cannot get used to it. I am opting for the 6 1/2 saw, left sided blade! Thanks for the video.

You’re very welcome!! Skilsaw’s are virtually indestructible, and will always be the staple. But there are so many really impressive options now, for instance I will be doing a video soon on the rear handle Makita I recently picked up. But still use my 6 1/2 FUEL 90% of the time now!

Hi Adam! Aww, blade right Vs blade left? This debate will continue ad Infinitium! But, I get it, as I own both styles. I have owned a little 6 inch Porter Cable Sawboss saw for over 20 years, and the cord is taped up in like 11 places! I wouldn’t take anything for that saw! I have a fairly new Skilsaw MAGNESIUM 7&1/4 sidewinder, that I have a love/hate relationship with. It is a real strong and smooth running saw, but I always use ear plugs with that one. It won’t cut against a speed square worth a dang, but for some reason, I can free hand cut that thing to a 1/16 inch no problem? I’m kind of obsessed when it comes to circ saws. (Don’t tell my Wife! ) I have around 11 saws all together! Corded and cordless. One thing Adam, and anyone else out there, I was told a long time ago, by an old timer with crazy skills as a builder, “Waste side, blade side!” I see a lot of guys cutting with left hand saw, and trying to balance it on the smaller side of the plate. Try reversing your cut with the 6&1/2 Fuel, Adam. A personal thing, I get it. YMMV. My most used cordless would be the Milwaukee Gen 1 7&1/4 Fuel right hand blade saw. Will serve George, and I appreciate all that input. It’s funny you say the love-hate relationship with your magnesium sidewinder, because I have the same relationship with mine! When my original mag Skil saw went bad I replaced it with the new silver body one and it’s just not the same. I hope to pick up the Milwaukee rear handle fuel soon enough though! I understand your obsession with circular saws lol...I’m in the same boat!! I just wish Milwaukee made a track saw ;)

Go with the fuel 6-1/2. Bring a few high output 3.0 compact batteries and leave your corded stuff at home.

I recently picked up the Milwaukee brushless non-Fuel 7-1/4" circ saw as part of a kit with a couple of 4Ah XC batteries. Do you notice a big difference in cutting power / torque with the 6Ah High Output battery?

Dave Nunez that’s a great saw, but the difference is not that noticeable at first. Where I see the difference so far is how long it can maintain the same torque throughout the day? Hope that makes sense!

Dave Nunez I mean that the higher capacity/ output batteries provide more consistent torque throughout the charge of the battery, so even when they get low I don’t feel a loss in performance, but with the smaller batteries I notice a drop in power as the lose their charge

I just needed a Cordless Circ Saw!! LOL......my shed is WAY too far from my garage and wiring.....the 7-1/4 came with my Hammer Drill combo!.....it's definitely impressive compared to my old craftsman stuff which is Insanely loud and "not" as smooth to cut, lol.

No not necessarily, but you could put a sheet metal blade in it and it could suffice. You’re better off getting a specific metal cutter that spins at the appropriate RPM for metal

I just got the 7 1/4" fuel version and I also noticed the trigger issue. I was actually ready to return the saw before I tried one last time and pushed the trigger lock and trigger both very hard. The trigger clicks every time I use it. I'm hoping it gets better as I use it more

By the way I bought mine in a kit with 6.0 high output battery, charger, blade and bag. It was on clearance for $199 at my home Depot. I didn't really need it but I'm not gonna pass up something that good for that cheap!

good energy in this review! I've been framing off and on since I was a kid and I'm a somewhat stubborn skilsaw guy. I can cut very well with anything from the crappiest sidewinder to a sawzall with a bent jacked up blade. That being said will I be happy with the 6-1/2 for day to day framing?

Never for me, it’s a rough cut saw for my purposes so if anything I typically make finish cuts with the track saw hooked up to the vacuum

I tried the 7 1/2 right blade ,, but just can't get used to it.. yes the 6 1/2 left side blade throws the saw dust at you but I need to see my cuts lol

Well actually you need to see where ur cut is going and learn how to use the guide for the line

A lot of people commonly refer to a blade left as a left handed saw it’s not. It could be used for framing because it has plenty depth of cut for 1-1/2” dimensional lumber but it is actually a trim saw it is a blade left for better line of sight which is also why it’s only 6 1/2 inches. The same goes for a 5 1/2 or 5 3/8. Rigid does make a 6 1/2 blade right which is not common. Which is also why a blade right is called a sidewinder not a right handed saw. Enjoyed the video! I also switched from Dewalt to Milwaukee a couple years ago and I’m happy with my decision what are your thoughts after being on both?

Thank you!!! I still love the 6 1/2 and I gravitate towards it whenever given the choice. BUT… because it is now being used significantly less after my spinal fusion the motor is actually seizing up overtime and when I go to use it now I have to tap the motor lightly on the case with a hammer. And that doesn’t make me happy. But then it works fine so I’m thinking sawdust must’ve gotten into the motor and maybe it just needs a good cleaning

Wanted the 6 1/2 originally, but with the 7 1/4 on sale with a 6.0 battery for 259 I couldn’t pass it up

Will the Fuel 6-1/2 saw cut through 2x4 at a 45 degree bevel? I thought it did, then I saw another video where it didn’t. It should but maybe you know for sure.

I watched and relied on your video heavily when purchasing my first circular saw this last weekend. I went with a Bosch 6.5" that seems to have max 2" depth. I was able to bevel cut 45 degrees on two sides face cut of one piece of 2x4. However today in class I could not cut a full 45 degree face cut because the blade was not long enough? Another student's 7.25" did the trick. Could you verify when you get a chance. Again, I really enjoyed your video. Really helpful for beginners to see the cuts, listen to the cuts, and make choices that fit our needs. Thanks again.

With the Bosche is a great saw I already know that, I actually have a bunch of miscellaneous Bosche tools that I keep around since accumulating. Unfortunately due to companies over exaggerations of abilities, the 6 1/2 can’t quite get down two inches but they round up a little bit. @@healing2gether I will definitely reach out as I go back to school in Sept. I think I will be building an 8 x 12 office shed with a single sided pitch roof. Only allowed to build 6ft tall but will try to raise one side enough to let the rain slope down. Anyways, might need to build my own custom door to fit inside the 6ft or 6.5ft height. So I will be looking into what kind of door options I can create. Don't know if that is your kind of thing to teach - I'm thinking your experience with saws and techniques for cutting might apply :)

Depending on how heavy duty you want it you can make something really light weight and custom out of one by, Or build something really heavy duty either one buy plus plywood, or if you can get your hands on some good two by sixes to build a real nice heavy duty farmhouse style door. Either way, lots of cool options, your pet just depends on how entail do you wanna make it. Glad to hear you’re going back to school in September! How much more schooling do you have left?

The 7 1/4 having the blade on the right as opposed to the left is why i dont own one. The only reason

The 7 1/4 sounded stronger because it was a brushed motor. Brushless motors sound weaker, but usually have at least as much power, if not more.

Basically the non-fuel line is Milwaukee’s base line of tools which is still very good. But the fuel tools are the professional line that are made a little better.

You said you "was" a DeWalt guy , have you ever used the Dewalt 20v 61/2" brushed circular saw ? If you have , how much better is the Milwaukee M18 Fuel 61/2" circular saw ? I've been thinking of going Red , but I do like DeWalt's saws ....👍

Brian F hey man, yes I’ve tried it and do like it. TBH most decent circ saws are well made these days, and the newer Dewalt saws are very well made, and I think at this point it’s mostly a personal preference. I do feel a bit more torque with the Milwaukee Fuel saw, and I prefer the feel of the grip on the Milwaukee over the Dewalt. In all honesty, I’m not so sure the price difference is justifiable between them, because the Dewalt stuff is good and a bit cheaper. I just prefer the feel of a lot of the Milwaukee tools, and think their new FUEL impact driver is one of the best ever! I think it all depends on if you wanna look at yellow or red all day ;)

The Dewalt 61/2 is more powerful than the Milwaukee 61/2 fuel but the brushless will give a few more cuts, they just came out with a brushless 61/2 dewalt

If the Milwaukee's not more powerful , I'll just send it back....

That Milwaukee battery powered safety switch really sucks, they need to do better. My corded Milwaukee saw has a nice safety switch, I have no issues with it. All the battery powered ones are a pain to operate IMO.

First, I hate how your music is way louder than your voice. so when the music came on(for the cutting and your outro) I turned it down. Now to be on subject, this black friday i grabbed the Fuel 7 1/4 with 5.0 battery for $250. I chose the larger saw due to the fact I dont carry it all day, im a cabinet installer. But i like the depth and extra torque to get through a 3 inch dishwasher panel or similar. Decent review with the non scientific testing.

Hi, Well, the interesting thing on both models (6 - 1/2) & (7 - 1/4) they both have the same 5000 rpm. Still, i like my 6 - 1/2 model. The size and weight is perfect for my daily cutting and ripping. The only thing that milwaukee missed on all their circular saw is the stops on the 22.5 and 45 degree bevel. That's one feature i like on the dewalt cordless circular saw. Still a great circular saw...
