I just bought one after using two makita corded for over 20 years. This is the best circular saw I've ever used. Precise, smooth and powerful. Its an amazing experience.
I love my Milwaukee battery tools. Best line out there!!! and yes! This saw is AMAZING!! 30 years experience here and best tools I've ever used.
Used my buddies and it made me order one so I can redo my deck this weekend.
Have the exact same saw and battery, lasts forever and the power is amazing, definitely comparable to 15a corded. I am left handed and it feels super comfortable
Good saw. Just received this saw. Already have 6 1/2 model m18 saw. Super excellent build design and heavy duty. Premium quality lithium tool. The lithium technology is well designed in this powerful tool. No lithium surprises or odd requirements. Strong, dependable, and easy to use. Definitely ergonomic and designed to be easy to use in the hands.

If only it was blade left. I would buy it.
The rafter hook actually works fairly well when hung on 2x6 or larger, width of the lumber keeps it from swinging under like it was on your work table. The rail you were demonstrating on is just too thin for what it’s designed for.

I just bought a 7¼ milwaukee fuel circular saw and i need to know how to use it first. My first search gave me this video and I'm already impressed by how much it can do. Although I only have a 5.0 Ah battery but im sure it will work for my projects
Great review. I don't know your issue with right sided blades, but I've used them for 50 years and have no problem with them. My RIGID worm gear is left side and has at times driven me nuts.
I agree with this guy for the most part. The rafter hook was designed to rest on the edge of a 2x4. That rafter hook is solid.
Looks so freaking smooth, cutting like butter...
That definitely looks like a great saw. If I choose to expand my battery platform soon, it will be with Milwaukee, and this would be one of the first tools I would get.

The plunge cut was going with the fiber structure of the wood, that’s why you got those longer stringy chips, or in the tree industry we call them noodles. So that’s the deal with the saw clogging. For me, the positive stops or common angle detents are a bit scary, because we’re i to buy this and want to make a 46 instead of a 45 I may end up in a situation where the detent prevents the angle from being made. Without detents as long as I look at it and put the thing on the thing where they line up it’s money.

Hi TRZ, I have a question on this circular saw. Would it be possible to cover the dust section so the dust can blow downward? Would it damage or harm the circular saw? It's cool it has it but if you are a lefty the dust blows right at you. I use the 6 1/2 (2530) model and the dust blows downward like a worm drive. I like that style better. I get it for the guys who work inside and want to use a vacuum system. When working outside that dust in the face is annoying. My son is a lefty and when he use this saw he hates it. It's alright for me because I'm on the other side of the blade (I'm a righty). Just wanted to get some feed back
Yo bro! Once again great vid! With all the different brands you review, which brand do you prefer overall?

Exactly, it's awesome
I've been a carpenter for 30 years and everyone tells me my saw is left-handed. I've never understood that. A lefty can't use the measurements on the table to make quick productive tablesaw straight rips. It don't throw dust in your face plus the blade on the left side just don't feel ergonomic to me. I reckon it all depends on what your use to. Great video. I just got this saw today, it starts making me money tomorrow

Caterpillar gave up on the detent positions for their machines. They found out that they eventually wear and come out of true. People would complain that their machine wouldn't track straight. I can see why the elimination of the positive stop positions.
You should do a tool dual with the DCS578.
I scored the whole kit on clearance for $300. I have the Gen 1, which is awesome in and of itself, but this.......this saw is just impressive. I’m undecided. I’m right handed myself, but I’m trying to work out which side would feel best for me. 🤔
@craigcrofts156
4 жыл бұрын
@@MetalMayhem1978 right side blade is best for right handed people in my opinion. So when you have to shave a bit off from a length most of the soleplate is resting on the timber. If it was left handed you would have to balance it on the small part of the soleplate if that makes sense. Also it stops dust going in your face as the saw is in the way, and you can pop your head over for a more accurate cut, and bevel cuts feel more natural on right handed saw
@crazyfvck
3 жыл бұрын
@@craigcrofts156 Yup. And maybe it's just me, but I like keeping the blade as far away from my body as possible ;)
I just ordered this saw, I borrowed a 2731 and liked it so much that I wanted one for my self but they don’t make it anymore, looks like the 2732 is the upgraded version.
The reason most blades are on the right is because the weight of the saw is rested on the keep side and doesn’t want to drop with the drop material with most left blade saws.
@Martyntd5
4 жыл бұрын
If you cut from right to left with a blade-left saw, you get to keep the weight of the saw on the keep side. Long rip cuts from right to left are really easy and really safe with a blade left saw. You just have to change what you're used to.
@chadhoward3347
4 жыл бұрын
If your ripping. I’m talking generally cross cutting as a right handed person
@Martyntd5
4 жыл бұрын
@@chadhoward3347 Yeah, I'm right handed too. Same applies, you just clamp up with the waste on the left instead of the right, or stand end-on and cut right to left. That way the weight of the saw is always over the keep side of the cut. The only time it's more of a pain is when you are using a speed square in your left hand as a fence for cutting 2x4's ...then the weight falls over the waste. But for everything else, left blade is easier and better.
@interman7715
4 жыл бұрын
Chad Howard Right handed carpenter here , right side blade is my favorite, keeps the dust away and is safer for kickback, you can hold the timber with left hand ,no need to clamp and cutting bevels is also easier 👍
Could somebody answer this for me...I just picked up this saw and currently have a 3.0 CP High Output battery pack. Will this give me the same power that an XC High Output 6.0 or higher would? Just at a shorter run time? I'm fine with that as this saw is a luxury and is definitely overkill for me. But if it doesn't have the same power I would think about getting an 8.0 pack. Thanks in advance!

Will it run ok on a xc6 and xc 8 bat?

@737smartin
4 жыл бұрын
What's your experience using the 5A batteries with this saw?
Wonder how well it runs with the new forge batteries
The problem with your plunge cyt was you were going along the grain and starting in the middle, when you start at the end of the wood you're ripping up along the ends of the grain. You get the same with a chainsaw when cutting down a bit of wood like that you get grainy strings and it can clog the saw.
nice
Right blade saws are NOT for left handed people. The right blade allows you to actually have effective dust control. The direction of the blade, and the configuration of the guard on a right blade saw, allows all of the dust to be ejected away from your body. Worm Drive saws are very good, but the left blade configuration blows all of the dust straight into your eyes. You can use a left blade saw with your left hand, and avoid the dust, but this is not generally how they are used, and many of the left blade saws don't come with a dust ejection port--all right handed "Sidewinder" saws have a dust ejection port. See 4:10.
I need to buy me one to try it out

Do you think the saw would work well for people who are left handed? My whole life I've struggled to cut a straight line using others' skilsaws that are made to be held in a right hand, and this caught my eye a while ago because the handle is on the left side. For someone like me, it seems like a dream come true. I haven't seen one in person yet, though.

Is Milwaukee saw better than dewalt?
There's one thing I don't like about it. It's the paddle for engaging the trigger you got to keep your finger one it in order to press the trigger, dewalt got something similar but it's much small and its more like a botton rather then a switch and you don't have to keep your finger on it. The reason I don't like that is when you have to make a plunge cut holding it vertical
Do you folks think it's worth the extra money over the 2631-20 brushless non fuel?
do you just cut the wood and throw it away? cuz if so, can i give you dimensions for pieces of wood i need and you can cut those to test and send to me? :-)
I know Dewalt's new DCD578 is more powerful, but I would rather have the 5 year warranty. I"ve had a lot of tools fail just after the 3 year mark.

I'm happy with ryobi 7quarter saw with Diablo blade, cuts just as fast as the Milwaukee, costs only a bit over $100. Probably may not last as long as the Milwaukee, and blade guard is not as smooth, it's plastic
My Milwaukee 10 year old 6390 needs a new bearing so, im replacing it with a cordless 2732-20.
I build custom houses and I have cut just about everything with that very saw. The thing is durable, pretty powerful, and I have been very happy with it. I'd say the only drawback in my opinion is slightly less torque than the chorded Milwaukee.

/// If they are on the cuts are good but if they are off is it hard to fix or hard to slightly move off the positive stop?/// Most decent saws should have a set screw on the shoe that allows you to square up the blade to the scale. As the stops are part of the scale assembly, they should get trued up at the same time. On my Makita I just set the shoe to the 0 stop, check the blade is square to the shoe with a square and if it isn't, adjust the set screw until it is. Then everything is dead nuts on. The shoe, stops, scale ...everything.

@@johnrice9121 Yeah, I've got an old B&D saw I inherited from my dad. It's long since drifted out and the only way I can think of to correct it, is to take the shoe off and bend the brackets. But most of the newer gen saws have some sort of adjustment to true the blade to the shoe/scale. I just check mine whenever I change blades and if it's out, just a quick nip up on the set screw and it's done. After that, the 45 and 0 stops are damned near as good as a table saw.
I would buy it, but only have 5Ah batteries...pretty sure it will be lacking performance on those...
