I actually think the opposite.in that he was highly efficient with his moves/energy and getting to his spots He rarely used more then 4 dribbles ever when having the ball and almost Always knew what he was going to do before he did it setting himself up for a shot/play

Everybody looks good in highlights but his overall shooting percentage sucks and it's not the greatest. I witness Jordan cry baby years. That's how the game got soft how y'all bums call it today. Agreed. There's something about 90's ball that made it so good. I can't put it into words, maybe it's the transition game now? They're too fast? No time to set up plays. It seems less of a team game than in the 90s. Today it seems like dudes want to make highlight reels and trending social media plays? Like I said, I can't put it into words. Grant Hill had to go against the leagues top 2 wing defenders in MJ and Pipp on every play!!! MJ always had the luxury of Pippen taking on the opponents best perimeter player. Mj could kick back and save energy. It was the perfect system

My dad always tells me how good Grant Hill truly was and I see no lies. Obviously my dad knew what I didn’t from being young but from watching this I took away from this game that he was talented enough to battle with the Bulls in they’re hay day’s. Sky’s was the limit for a young Grant Hill. Injuries derailed him from taking that next step into greatness. I feel if healthy Grant Hill would have easily won a MVP

That '98 squad was the greatest ever. I'm a Pistons fan and I ached so badly during those years. The Pistons had so much talent out there on the floor. The potential in that team, but all the pieces just didn't come together right. Still it was good to see this again. I hate today's NBA, but this was good to see. Thank you for sharing this.

I beg you the difference the most elite commentary comes when he drives commentator yells in excitement that saw the greatest move all basketball. Instead of calling carry he awarded 2 free throws. They have changed rules for Mr eliteness to take 3 steps instead of 2. As far as if play defence Mr Jordan the eliteness if the person gaurding him if much as sneeze on him the officials call a foul on them. When Dr J says Kareem Abdoul Jabar is great basketball player he knows what is going on. NBA is business is sport that everything is fare.

Man this video reminds you just how good MJ was on both ends of the floor, ppl always remember the scoring but his defense was insane when you think about how much energy he used on the offensive end but would go all out on the defensive side too How he played on both ends will always put him above others in the goat debate for me

As a Pistons fan, I remember watching this game. MJ showed why he was still the best, and why the Bulls were still the best. I really liked Grant Hill as a Piston for those six years, he proved he was an upper echelon talent in the NBA. At the same time it was frustrating to watch the Pistons play because they should of been a better team than what they were, which was a team that kept on getting bounced out in the first round of the playoffs every year.

8:03 sheesh the disrespect, G Hill's footwork and explosiveness was sorely missed in the early aughts

Grant hill was something special. That first step and crossover.

I always rooted for Grant Hill, even got his poster Sprite in my bedroom when I was a kid. Injuries have other plans though. One of the biggest what if of NBA. 😢

I hate when people speak of occasions, where Pippen took over Jordans assignment and say Scottie was the way better defender. They were both great defenders and they complemented each other beautifully.

I miss this era of basketball. I had to accept that I’m old when I started seeing all the guys I grew up watching now sitting behind a desk on ESPN 😳

the game was so entertaining and intensive.

Did you see how the modern day All Stars were struggling against a more intense defense (still under modern rules though) in the last quarter of the ASG? They really got exposed. I can only imagine how bad they would look against this kind of D physical that MJ gives to Hill in the low post.

Jordan guarded the best player in the 4th quarter. Wanted that match up. On the last possession of the quarter when grant had a pick. Jordan didnt switch. He wanted to guard hill until the last moment. That shows the kind of player he is. Unlike some other so called goat

Yeah and Pippen didn't do so bad against this smaller, quicker guard either. They just ran him up on fouls early and fd up his game from there on out. Pipp's overall contribution to the victory cannot be overstated though. It's that hidden, inside game that made him the 2nd best player in the NBA.

It doesnt matter, everyone and myself included doesnt want Pippen holding the ball, he’s too inconsistent. If Jordan has it, you feel secured LOL.

jocriss you clearly didn’t watch the bulls then, Pippen was the better defender over all. Jordan had the slight edge when it came to guarding smaller players but Pippen was way better on taller players with size

Oh yeah, this seems like one of the most difficult games that Michael Jordan has ever been in during his season because Grant Hill was putting in work on the whole team the whole time and that’s why he’s in the Hall of Fame. P2TG III Salute

What made the Bulls dynasty even more so impressive is that unlike many teams of today that stack up the deck by off season acquisitions, the Bulls never did any such thing, the biggest acquisition that they ever did was picking up Brian Williams on the 96-97 campaign.

This separates Mike from the rest. One of the best offensive players ever and when needed, one of the best defensive players ever as well. People forget that Grant Hill was Lebron James before injuries got him. Consistent triple double machine and has one of sickiest crossovers for his size with a quick first step. He still had a good career though his greatness was cut short with injuries.

As a Pistons fan growing up I can attest that Grant Hill was no LeBron James. Grant Hill did not carry, and could not, the Pistons to the same heights as LeBron James did for the Cavaliers.

Grant Hill was a legit superstar. Getting triple doubles, could score at will, high-flying dunks. Damn shame injuries took him out. He played for a LONG time after years of continual injuries. Dude was damn good, the best ever to come out of Duke IMO.

You could tell Pips back was hurting. He's so stiff. MJ is just a beast. That jab step pull up jumper at the beginning of the 4th was crazy.

I loved watching 90s NBA, modern 🏀 is boring 3s is everywhere even big man shoot threes.

It's not the overuse of 3-points barrage I hate about today's NBA. It's the lack of defense, the awful foul baiting, the ugly (double to triple) step-backs before taking a shot and the amount of Free-Throw giveaway like no tomorrow that have ruined the game for me.

Man.. imagine if Grant hill stayed healthy..

MJ showed he would do whatever his team needed. 4 steals, 2 blocks, 8 assists. They needed his defense and not the scoring so he did everything needed

People should understand how extremely difficult MJ's fadeaway shot is, especially when he's doing it on the right side. No wonder very few players can do it, even in today's generation of supposedly more athletic stronger players.

Currys 30 ft range and quickest release in nba history would be a major problem for that team. The Bulls would put Pippen on Curry most likely, and that would be a problem for Pippen. Remember when Dan Majerle hit a game winning 30 ft shot against Pippen in the finals? Pippen said you don’t extend 30 ft to guard a player, and that it was a bad shot that went in. He goes out 30 ft to meet Curry, which he’d have to unless he wants Curry to score 50, and Steph will dance right around him. I’ll also add this, Stephs loaded Warriors team would easily sweep the Utah Jazz .... a team the Bullls had to take to 6 games.

The GOAT destroyed my Pistons, we had a unit that year too, just didn’t have enough!!!

Jordan's mid game range was definitely underrated: man, the precision on those jump shots, stopping on a dime and the string music. Fundamentally sound and precision and the conditioning, productivity and competitive level for being 35 also was overlooked and off the chain. And then after Pippen was used and abused by G. Hill, the Hill stopper got on him, Jordan-MVP and lock down defender. Classic and nasty NBA Duels.

My one and only GOAT. No drama, no flopping, pure talent, and genius in every game. That fake goat cannot even master the free-throw.

If Grant Hill never had the injuries we would be talking about him in the same category as Kobe and Jordan

No the hell you wouldn't his jumper was suspect from day 1 and there's no way in hell he was going to beat Shaq n penny or Jordan and Pippin in the east and even after Jordan left Grant Hill wasn't going to beat the Spurs or the Lakers dynasties there's literally no space for him besides when Chauncey Billups got there than he could've helped win a few rings more than 2 no f way he wasn't a generational talent.

Look at MJ on defensive mode, he is 35 at the time chasing ang bodying young legs. If he is on his prime today he will drop 40 and fouled out with that defense.

Grant wasn’t underrated at all. At this point he was a superstar carrying his own team. Kobe wasn’t even a starter at this point but still made the All Star Team. G Hill was a walking triple double almost every night. Easily the NBA’s worst loss due to injury.

Hill was nasty I remember watching him as a kid, I really loved that throw back Pistons jersey 🔥🔥

This wasn’t a very efficient shooting game for Jordan, but he had a pretty decent all around game. The defense he played on a physically strong Grant Hill. The passing, and he hit a few tough midrange shots with the defender playing him very tightly.

What a FANTASTIC game! I remember watching this live. Just awesome. Just appreciate the defense, the range of shots, and the overall variety of play. Fantastic!

Oh man Grant Hill, I look up to this guy and even completing all his Fila shoes. I am glad he reinvented his game despite all the injuries and continued to play in the NBA
