Kidd's career is underrated because he kept getting traded to last place teams and immediately turning them into perennial playoff teams. He played like this against prime Jordan, and then in 2011 he was instrumental in holding a prime LeBron James to under 18ppg in the NBA Finals. Kidd was a flat out winner! MJ is just the GOAT of all goats!

Garvin Joseph facts. Dude played defense, got steals, and rebounded. To me he’s the prototype point guard - Magic Johnson, being 6’9”, is an outlier. And fuck all the stats, the best quality about him is his unselfishness. Dude’s unselfishness was so contagious that he would make Kobe think twice about going 1 on 2. I’m from New York, and what a lot of Knicks fans don’t realize is that the only reason why they were so good in 12-13 season is because Kidd was on the team. His presence made them play team basketball.

I remember Dirk bearing Tim Duncan around 2006 (I believe) and Tim Duncan was a monster in that series. So I can definitely see a prime Dirk and Jason Kidd beating the Spurs in another close 7 game series. I would definitely love to see it though!

You'd rarely even notice Kidd getting a triple double, you'd just notice his impact on the game, since his objective for every game was always to have impact. He never went into a game thinking he had to get a triple double. At the end, sometimes he'd have a triple double, and you'd be like "cool." On the other hand, with a guy like Westbrook, you can see when his objective is to get triple doubles.

regular game match between strong east team vs weak west team. And its still November. Not even the mid or late of the league. And still look at that Jason Kidd -> Steal Pippen -> Block Kidd -> Steal Kidd -> Great Assist Kidd -> Rebound Free Throws Pippen -> recover the ball Then Kidd another steal Look at this intensity !!! Zone Defense of my ass. Late 90s were much more physical and tense than today.

My all-time starting lineup: Kidd, Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, and Olajuwon. This starting lineup beats anyone. Great defenders, players who know their roles, championship experience, and enough shots to go around for everyone.

Only stupid haters comparing one player to another player. They don’t know the era of basketball. I love Jordan/Kobe but I grew up watching Lebron James.

Nice2787 we know that already. But Michael never stopped playing great defense. After he missed his chance on getting defensive player of the year, besides this year he’s been bad on defense. He has been bad on defense. Jordan was never bad on defense. For 10 years straight he was one of the best defensive players in the NBA and the best defensive shooting guard in the league at that time and it was clear

  • @calvinbrice.t2140

Nice2787 1) Jordan didn’t play 17 years and still accomplished more and was better at his peak than Lebron James is. Lebron is top 10 but he’s not right there or let alone above Jordan relax. So in 12 seasons, (Because Jordan didn’t play for 3 seasons) Jordan has all the accomplishments we laud him for. 2) Jordan was a shooting guard who played small forward on occasion. It wasn’t he responsibility to do all that. He played in a real team system which everyone had their role or roles to play. In 1988-1989, Jordan was a triple double machine averaging 32 9 9 as a point guard. He was at that point a more technically sound Westbrook who was on top in defense and a better shooter. 3) the triangle offense Jordan played in from 1989 to 1998 emphasized SHARED TEAM RESPONSIBILITY. So Jordan at one point could manage the offense then Pippen or Paxson or Harper(who were the the traditional point guards) so it emphasized the team play overall. Not one person running the offense. 3) Jordan was a great defensive player before all those players came on the team. He was the defensive engine on the team. When the leader goes the team goes. Since Jordan came from the Dean Smith school of basketball, he was well taught in the basketball fundamentals and defense was key so the players who came after followed his lead. Especially Pippen, who Jordan saw his talent and built him up on offense and defense.
