'METALPLOITATION' Awful Heavy Metal / Part 1
Музыка
Part 1
Episode 13 is chat about awful metal.....the worst bargain basement metal, joke albums made to cash in on how big metal was in the 80s, whole labels were devoted to doing so!
Trust Metal Salvage to shine a drunken light on all of this carry on!

First off a HUGE Cheers for linking my old Metal Enterprises-article and plugging my site in general. Luw'd this chat - so laid back, and the topic is of course one of my fave subjects in HM ephemera. If you need any tips on more obscure Metalploitation or ME-trivia for a future Part II, let me know and I'd be more than happy to chip in. /DaN, Corro' aDmiNistructor
Love these chats between you two!

part two is next week!
Metal Enterprises put out some good albums back then besides the Trashqueen's ones ( which I bought blindly about 20 years ago....).Expect No mercy -Watch Your Ears and save your neck (what a title) is my favorite I think
Met James Rivera at daytime at Keep it True this year, and he was wearing his fangs - so I fully believe he goes shopping with them on. Also, wasn't aware of that Metal Edge project, and my curiosity got the better of me - thanks.

In the Girlschool/Caroline Quentin thing you mentioned, there are 2 guys in the cafe. One of them is my mate, Glenn, who lives out here now. Night Demon stayed at his guest house in April. The other is Pete Jupp of FM.

The S.O.D. track on that Megaforce comp tape is a cover tune by German Hardcore Punk band INFERNO & it was originally called "Ram it up your c*nt".
Alan, did you say that the Dar Command is your favorite Exciter album? Im a big fan of it, it might actually be my favorite.

The Stranglers had a go at Manics for 'If You Tolerate This..' saying they ripped it off from their imo superior yet under performing single 'Duchess'

Virgin Steele is the eponymous debut album by New York heavy metal band Virgin Steele, released independently in 1982. This was the first album released by Music for Nations in Europe and was subsequently released by Mongol Horde Records and Maze Records in Canada.

@@AlanAverillNemtheanga Ya got me there. Thanks.
Ahhh good ol' Metal Enterprises. I'm not ashamed to say that i even have some of these albums. I own both (!!!) Thrash Queen albums and - inexplicably - also the F***er album. I want to get rid of it, but i don't even know where to sel l it, haha. Best Metalploitation albums for me are Original Sin - Sin will find you out and Lords of the Crimson Alliance. About the Mad Butcher album. I really don't know much about the band. I wasn't there in the early 80s, but apparently the band has been active since 1981 making it germany's first Speed Metal band. Their name was Mad Butcher before Destruction came up with it. Now the question is who came up with the butcher dude. Both Mad Butcher by Destruction and Metal Meat my Mad Butcher came out in 1987. I'd really love to see Harry and Schmier discuss that issue. 😁

wow very interesting.....the song Mad Butcher though is on the Sentence of Death EP from 1984 ? the other Mad Butcher has a demo from 1983! strange.....so who came up with the artwork first?

@@AlanAverillNemtheangaGood question, according to the Mad Butcher singer, it's been their idea. Their drummer's girlfriend at the time painted the cover and they based the butcher's looks on a photographer from Düsseldorf. But yeah, it would be VERY interesting to let Harry and Schmier chat about that. Mad Butcher are active again to a certain degree by the way. There's a very long interview on crossfire metal, but it's in german.
