franck herrmannsen - Honestly biggest problem. There’s a lot of live versions of songs similar to this one that I’d rather listen to. This one specifically I still don’t like aspects of, but generally speaking it’s a shame that there’s a lot of studio recordings that don’t hold up to how they play them now.

james' voice cracking out halfway through made him shake it up and do some pretty risky stuff. that's a true professional. the guttural delivery around the 4 min mark is him making a save and sounding KICK ASS doing it.

I always enjoyed hearing these songs live. I went to 7 or 8 shows on the Madly In Anger With The World Tour. The St Anger tunes had a thrashier sound live. Kirk added solos. They fit right in with the old stuff.

The production is far from the only thing wrong with it, as most of the songs were incoherent with little tying the pieces that made up the songs together. However, the production just turned it from a mediocre/bad album to one that is pretty much unlistenable. With that being said, the title track and Frantic are two decent tracks that would have definitely worked better on an album with decent production. And they were the songs that usually sounded pretty good live.

I then went back and listened to load and reload which both were OK with some great songs but I will never play the black album I just fucking hate it especially enter sandman.

As a fan of St. Anger when it was released, it's nice to see it get some love. I feel that way about Load. It was pretty divisive when it came out but it brought in a new generation of fans and holds up pretty well

Finally those songs sound as massive as they are meant. Would love to hear The Unnamed Feeling!
