He was an Angel of the erased Universe so it should be obvious he is mastered Ultra Instinct. The reason he pretends to be a person is that he is under an order of Grand Priest to not reveal his identity as Angel while at the same time help the universe with low level in order to improve their level before Zeno decided to destroy it.

The Shadow Games the picture on the left is another official colouring from a Volume 10’s cover. Once again you can see it’s a bit different from angels. Nevertheless the theory is still valid as of course a powerful angel can change his outer appearance.

If Meerus wants to keep a low profile changing his appearance is reasonable. Angels stick out like a sore thumb. Changing his skin tone shouldn't be that hard considering what angels are capable of. I know I'm reaching but considering angels can travel through universes at will, changing skin tone doesn't seem over the top.

@@CarthusDojo Double posting this because I want you to see this and process this.... If you skip universe 13, because 13 is special. (or taboo) and then remember all the pairs add to 13, and then label the erased 6 universes 14-19. you can then pair each of erased 6 universes in the same way as adding to 13 by assigning group numbers to each pair (now a triple), by using the lowest numbered universe in the group as the group number. Now subtract that group number from the 3rd triple pair and u get 13.... ie, 7 and 6 would pair with universe 19, because 19 -6 is 13 and this is group 6 of universes because 6 is the lowest numbered universe in the group. it works all the way around and it works for all 5 timelines that we get shown, even though I know you can argue there are 7 timelines now. I think 2 of the timelines were erased. The future timeline and the one that was offset by one day in the past where Zamasu stole Goku's body from. And yes, I know people will argue the one day offset, but I am pretty sure that is what the world zamasu went to, to steal Goku's body was, a one day in the past yesterday world... it got erased as well somehow. so there's still 5 even with trunks and whis making a new future... see below image if you want to see an example of the triple pairing system... ignore the rest :) lol you won't understand yet... my point being, the triple pairing system with the 13 subtract thing and adding is how it works clearly, it's too obvious. And then the world of void is either universe 13 or 13 is some special world or maybe the demon world..... i dunno.. But something is up with Universe 13, and it's not one of the erased 6 universes! THERE ARE 19 UNIVERSES in TOTAL!!!! GUARANTEED!!!! nanocheeze.com/ncz/spin.gif I think Moro and Merus are from Universe 13 btw..... is what my bet is on right now.... not one of the erased 6. but I am speculating now. versus what I said above I know has to be true... :) And my thinking if I were to speculate further, is that Universe 13 is a nexus universe, meaning that 13 is shared across all the timelines, meaning each timeline does not have a different universe 13, all 5 (or 7) timelines share the same instance of universe 13. hence Moro's and Merus' ability to hide from the Omni King and Grand Priest since we know the omni king and priest are not aware of the actions in the other timelines unless they venture there and observe via the time rings! Think of universe 13 as a phased instance in a video game. It has layers. So merus and Moro most likely have the ability to phase in and out of timelines.... again, just speculating :) I also think this is how Zamasu survived Erasure in the heroes saga, this phasing thing, or he attached himself to future xeno... but heroes is a hint to us that zamasu is not dead nor erased. Universe 13 being a phased nexus universe also explains how the time rings function and how travel between the timelines is possible. As the time rings would use universe 13 as a waypoint for hopping to the different timelines and back....universe 13 is what connects the timelines to each other. Like I said, it's a nexus I think. If you stacked all the time lines in a pancake, it provides an elevator metaphor style access between the timelines... This also explains why the Gods would not disturb or disrupt or goto universe 13 at all... That would be a very taboo universe or possibly dangerous/unknown and even scary even to the gods... plus it sounds like you need a kai time ring to access Universe 13 to travel between the timelines if I am right, so universe 13 literally sounds like it is sealed up or locked or fire-walled... Bulma's time machine probably accesses this 13th universe to do it's thing...

It's mixed. It does some things better than the anime, while other parts are worse. Personally, I prefer the Goku Black arc in the manga, but detest its adaptation of the Tournament of Power. Moro has been great for the most part.

Itachi PlayZ Cooler would be wise enough to keep saiyan under his reign and make them trust him ( Cooler wants to keep saiyan so they could grow up as a challenge for him to train ) About Goku... oh my god if he was a legendary super saiyan. Sin45673 if that was the case.... gohan would not have been able to beat him at ssj2 since even a kale on full berserk could go somewhat toe to toe with goku.... plus if goku was the lssj I think gohan would be also a lssj, looking at how carthu made the goku with god ki story line that would not surprise me and the cell arc may be still have the deaths it had plus vegeta not being revived but gohan would still beat cell at the end

I feel like when Beerus call goku the second strongest he ever face was a reference to his master Whis. It makes sense if we think about, I mean Whis has probably been training and beating Beerus since the era of the old kai. For him to be the strongest he ever fought, it wouldn't be so out of the picture.

Another guy had this theory and it really does make a lot of sense.

Aesthetically he looks like an angel, His name follows the same pattern as other angels being named after an alcoholic beverage, his combat stance is same as Whis (an angel) and he uses the same weapon as all angels do so far in the series + we can add his knowledge of what supposed to be beyond mortals and Yeah I'm pretty sure he is an angel

I mean it may be similar situation to how Beerus and the one figher in Tournament were both cats, and most likely from similar race at least. We just may see someone who is from Angel race that is not in servidude. On the other hand I think it still may be someone like previous Angel for Universe 7? I mean Universe 6 and 7 are the only Universes with twin gods of Destructions. On top of that both Universe's Angels are also siblings. Maybe this guy similar to hoe Kais of Universe 7 had changed - is also just someone who got replaced. Especially, if his role as Angel was not done properly, which lead to Beerus being the strongest god of Destruction, creating imbalance between creation and destruction.

With Merus showing his room of spirit and time you can clearly see it is a ancient Egyptian style building and setting. Meaning that must be a hint to his identity or at least to where he came from. In case you are doubting this, look at his haircut. This is also directly linked with ancient Egypt adding further to that theory. Now, I did look into the list of ancient Egyptian deities but came up with nothing to really mention. Closest name would be 'Meret' which would be a female minor deity but if you look at the details this wouldn't make much sense if you compare the two. I also looked at the names that would end with 'rus', just to see if that would bring up something. Well aside from the famous 'Horus' there isn't a single one that would fit that description. Horus being the man with falcon head god in case you wondered. Now, this does make a bell ring to some degree. Horus is also described as "the distant one" or "one who is above, over". Which in Merus's story may actually be not so far fetched, he is indeed a bit distant and tries to keep his secrets while his look clearly screams that he could be a angel of some type describing that second part (one who is above, over). Horus is the sky god which may also be true for Merus. Another fact about Horus is that he and Set (another major Egyptian god) have a conflict going on. Set being the man with the beast head resembling no known creature, although it could be seen as a composite of an aardvark, a donkey, a jackal, or a fennec fox. Now I know Moro is a humanoid goat of some type and shows no resemblance to Set in any form or shape. But there still may be a future bad guy that may show up to fight Meru that does look like Set in some form or way. I would like to point something out that i have yet to see anybody cover for some unknown reason. Ultra Instinct is symbolized by the white hair. all angels have white hair and they all have ultra instinct that's why they're the mentors to the gods of destruction. also when goku attained "mastered ultra instinct" in the tournament of power his hair turned white and his hair is still relatively normal compared to spiky super saiyan probably also as a symbol that's its a state of being not a transformation. the reason goku couldnt keep it is because as mentioned by jiren saying something along the lines of the aura is the problem probably referencing that there's something in the aura. when goku was taking damage after the ultra instinct were off whis said something like his body couldnt handle all that power of gods so theres something probably in the aura and thats why he couldnt fully master it ... now the reason i mention this is for multiple reasons 1. look at the angels no aura probably referencing they mastered it so they can "contain" it 2. goku couldnt contain it so he wasnt able to to sustain the energy 3. the main reason i brought this up is that the guy could seriously just be a mortal who just so happened to attain ultra instinct and learned of it through some means i know its a lot to read but its better than secret angel mumbo jumbo ... i mean hell people were speculating the grand priest to be some evil diety dont and he wasnt even close to how people thought he would be ... the dragon ball community has some weird "theories" that are nonsensical. the only support i can give to this theory is that its an angel in disguise to train goku but even that seems a bit outrageous Edit: besides white hair i would say that he does very heavily resemble angels by the eyes and skin color but if he has ultra instinct thats my explanation on the white hair. also just think about it like this. in the manga to be at full power super saiyan blue goku had to keep his energy inside and not let it leak out. that is to master super saiyan blue a "god" transformation. take that same aspect into ultra instinct to master it you must not let it leak. Edit Edit: ok never mind i saw in the comments thats not his real color so i went to go look him up ... he's purple and his eyes dont even look like an angel's all that much so i think it's safer to say he's a normal mortal than an angel

maybe meerus was an angel from one of the destroyed universes and when they were revived he got out of there because he is scared they will be erased again so he changed universes and is lying low thats why he doesn't want to unleash his full power into the universe because they will notice and then they will track him down and probably eliminate him because he knows something, like some dark secret about the grand priest or maybe an god of destruction or any other angels. If they kill meerus for GOOD at the end of the arc it would build some suspension to what that secret is.

Honestly that would make Lot more sense in retrospect. Well if its true that is. The better question is why is he there when Whis is U7 Angel Rep? Unless maybe he is somehow from one of past Universes destroyed by Zeno. Even he isn't, his knowledge & skill is highly suspect, and Whis does not train just anyone.

Or he is a Nephilim. That or him being from the fallen trio set universe would be great.

I really love that idea of the universes originally being triplicates. Going back to his description of Ui, I’m now trying to think of the z fighter with the best self control. Goku’s actually pretty far down the list compared to the others. Gohan is probably least likely as his fights have always been about emotion. Tien seems like the type to have mastered self control and Roshi too now that he’s gotten over his problems with chasing women. The two best candidates for achieving self control though? Might just be Piccolo and Vegeta, because of how they’ve progressed over time. Both of them started out with evil hearts, but eventually they were able to tame that darkness in them, granted it took Vegeta until the buu saga. Is there any greater example of self control then overcoming yourself? Unfortunately Vegeta seems to scoff at the idea of UI, but I hold out hope for Piccolo, Tien and Roshi picking it up.
