This is not car, this is space ship! AMAZING Mercedes! Next time Thomas give 4k camera to passanger so we can se better all that amazing displays in action in close up combinatikn view

It's a rewarding drive experience. Drive dynamics are respectable. Love the quiet cabin. If you weren't talking, we wouldn't know you're driving.

All the blue lights remind me of a night club powder room.

It looks spectacular but it seems soo distracting, it’s good it has all those safety features

@John Doe Dimm it extremly low would be an awesome feauture. Poorly modern Ambient Lights and Screens don't dimm a lot. Not as much as Smartphones do for example

Remember your dad telling you off for having a light on in the back? Yah...

I love ambient lighting and dont find it remotely distracting if its set to an appropriate brightness level. Cameras do tend to exaggerate the effect in my experience. Its a lovely interior.

On a smaller packages such as the EQE, the biggest tradeoff is reduced range.

I lovvvvvve all that ambient lighting! I know some find it distracting, but I find it calming.

A car with too much interior light is like a cake with too much sugar, it becomes indigestable.

Yeah but unlike the cake, you can almost certainly dial down the lighting so its barely visible if that is your preference.

Its so cool! I am building my chevy truck from the ground up. Right now am working on the interior and cars like this are my model for the custom interior mood lighting i will be implementing. Hopefully I can pull off a great look like this!

Like nightclub atmosphere

Hi Thomas, I am also a big fan of these very high-end ambient lights in the interior, however, is it not distracting at night especially in the countryside where there are no street lights just complete darkness?

I subscribed, primarily because you don't gush over a Merc, you note things that others have found annoying including the brake pedal retracting during full recuperation. I was curious if you were using augmented reality and the angle is such that only the driver sees it. And the steering has been described as "numb" do you agree or do you get used to it easily and feel the precision in the AMG over the 450 or 580? I wasn't crazy about the purple interior lighting honestly, but I was curious if it reacted to music, possibly.

I have a GLC with the multibeam headlights. Interestingly when it's working automatically its high beam is not as bright as when you have manual control.

Rhythm of the Night - Corona ♥️

The interior just look quite luxurious overall, although I think they have gone overboard with the wall to wall glass/screens. Definitely some ‘hard’ key for volume, temperature, seat heating etc would be better. That ambient lighting is too much for me, looks a bit like a cheap holiday disco at some points! One question I had was the headlights looked quite bright, but from the video it didn’t look to me like they threw a beam that far down the road. Was this true in real life or is this just an effect of the camera picking up the lights?

I'd just put in the "standard" that buttons and knobs on the steeringwheel have to be physical, as well the climate panel and an additional media Play/Pause, > buttons as well as Volume knob, and an additional menu back/enter/home up-down-left-right buttons. Everything can be programmed otherwise on the cheap LCD panels.

Can you turn all the inside lights and displays off and leave just the head-up display on in the night driving? Something like a "black panel" from Saab.

Great looking car... Good presentation! The driver lane assist distronic extended restart in stop and go traffic (auto pilot) is better than Tesla in some ways... Very impressed so far. Yes, I own one of these.... and traded my Model 3 performance for it... And it even came with a steering wheel!

@@maheshr4108 well for instance, if you’ve ever driven a Tesla, when you have it in auto pilot and need to make an adjustment with the steering, the steering wheel needs to be forced in order to move it which will bounce you out of the auto pilot setting. With the EQS, you can make as many adjustments with the steering wheel as needed without any violent consequences like you have with the Tesla… This is much better on the EQS and allows you to stay in the auto pilot mode even when you are forced to make steering corrections. Also, you don’t have that annoying dingdong sound… This is one of the better features that is improved over a Tesla…

@@jdmoney1000 I know exactly what you're talking about. I have the Merc system on an e400 which I use a Gatorade bottle to avoid the hand free warning. The Tesla I thought would have a better auto pilot software but it does sound more cumbersome if you're hands on

hi, is it possible to play a movie via usb or bluetooth or stream on the passanger side display? or it's just for "nothing". I see in the video there is a compass on the passanger side display, why should my passanger watch a compass? completly pointless i think

Displays, ambient lighting, etc is distracting overkill. It is as if MB wants to demonstrate their technological prowess without regard to actual use cases. Can the user configure which of the three screens they want to be active, control brightness of each screen individually, as well as selectively turn them off? Same question on the ambient lighting.

It would have been great in hdr 🤯

Best Car In The World

Unbelievable turning circle, its as if the car were revolving around its own axis. The headlights are amazing as they are on all Mercedes' with adaptive headlights. The interior ambient lighting is cool but some of those colors and themes remind me of a house of ill repute circa 1968 Saigon. Finally I know you are trying to show them off but they are too bright by at least 75%, using them that bright on a dark country road would ruin your night vision :)

You know what will be cool? An ultra party mode where the light pulsates according to the music rhythm like those club lights If it gets bassy the light pulsates heavily etc…

Is it only me or does anyone else find the lights hugely distracting? Especially at night, when I drive I would prefer a completely dark interior. I remember Saabs having the option to turn all interior lights off and only keep the speedometer light on.

not at all, me personally for night drive i am turning off everyrhing i can....it is so satisfying to have a dark vibe in the car ...no display no lights...just chill...

Irritation to the ambient light depends on the eyes of the driver, some are more capable compare it to wealth not everyone is capable of achieving this.

disco inside and touching instead of pressing buttons in a car is not practical. you can do doesnt mean must be in it.

This is not a car but a night club. Driver's attention should be focused on the road and surroundings. This way the risk of crashing is increased tenfold. What a stupid car.

Mercedes was a brand for grown ups back inte the days. Would never have allowed blue light inside the car like that just for show. Its the most irritating frequency for the eyes. But I agree it looks flashy. The exterior lighting though seems to be a respectable step forward..

Sorry, this only reminds me of cheap shops trying to draw attention with neon lights. Tacky and distracting.

Comically overdone IMO!

I think it looks horrible in the pictures. However, in real life in a bigger space it may be OK. I think I'd turn most of those lights completely off. I just don't need that at night and want a minimum of necessary information showing and areas illuminated.

Yeah looks great etc but in All Honesty is too Much watching you looking Down pressing stuff sure you doing easy coz 2 reasons you driving slow middle night with no on come traffic . Mercedes over doing the tech a driver can only do so much safely without looking at traffic.

I thought Mercedes was supposed to be classy? This looks like a toy shop’ Christmas window display. Also very surprising you can actually concentrate on the road with all those LEDs flashing and strobing in your face. Disappointing.

Too much, it's a car not a cocktail bar. While the huge displays look good now they will look dated very quickly.

Too much light, distracts you from there road, will dry out your eyes and tire your eyes out

ugly AF. disco ball on wheels. but wheels that have a turning ratio of a tank! lol

Too much ambient lighting. Seems like Mercedes is just adding more and more. Keep it nice and simple like in the Skoda Superb.
