  • @Dany_23L

    @Dany_23L

    ..and in the trunk was a map of Germany when Poland, Austria, and a bunch of other coutries were Germany. A manifesto found detailed plans to take over Palestine using two horses. One with Hitler (Jewish/Polish heritage ;p ) destined to fail (ended up in Argentina with other Jewish Nazi's, it is what it is), so false compassion would get a bunch of Germans from the state of Poland into the (greater) Syrian motherland, Palestine. Make no mistake, that's real history. Had Lebanon not been separated from Syria, courtesy of the French, Syria would have 2 major capitals in Beirut and Demascus, like California and New York. Fyi Tabouli and Hommus isn't German/Polish/Jewish. - Protocols of the elders of Zion. Good read, even though they (Israeli's) say it's plagiarised, it's transcribed actually. Big difference. One gets the orginal text's information across to the public, the other makes no difference unless you're submitting an assignment. Excuse the non-twitter long-form explanation.

You get into trouble for texting while driving - and rightly so - but you can fiddle with your massage seat settings and organize your playlist at a 150 mph, no problem there . I assume some functions are disabled at speed, but still there's a lot to play with in any touch screen based interface .

    totally agree on the front end. Total Honda Civic. Surprising they didn't do more work on the grill/nose area to make it pop and feel more elegant and maybe even do something like flush mount chrome trim down the side of the car. I'm sure it will evolve, though. Crazy future potential... the front of the car will be an LED screen and you can program or buy mods for the front look and the car can have whatever look you want on it.

    It's an EV, that's how. Notice how Jay says, "cuz this doesn't open" (tapping the hood) and the designer smirks. The hood obviously does open, but Benz attempts to lock you out (hiding the hood latch behind a trap door secured w/ a few torx screws). "Hey Mercedes" literally tells you "only a qualified blah blah blah is authorized to open the hood. EV's mean the end of all diy, most indy shops, & car ownership. Everything will be rented (leased), & dealer serviceable only. The used market will be nonexistent. They won't only be astronomical to maintain once every electric feature & module fail & need replacement, but you'll never own one or pay one off. There's many ways they can go about this. The future of driving is bleak.

The car that the Tesla Roadster was inspired by (The T zero) was an electric conversion of a kit car built by one man. Not to mention all of the electric conversions of classic cars to keep them on the road despite an aging engine & higher than acceptable emissions

    Wouldn't make sense to make another model that also looks like an S-Class, especially if it has a completely different architecture underneath. The EQS is a car for a more pragmatic buyer - function over style. Think of it this way: they made a separate electric model, so the new S-Class can still be a traditional luxury limo for one more generation. The EQ range is clearly meant for this transition period, you can bet there's going to be tons or research about what different Mercedes buyers think of the EQS.

    Electric cars are being pushed hard. Unfortunately they are not ready for prime time. Batteries are still primitive and do not hold enough energy. I sometimes have to travel from Nevada to Georgia without notice. I have a diesel F-350 with a large fuel tank. I don't even give it a second thought. Attempting to drive any of these electric cars long distance would be an ordeal then I'm not ready for. And just for giggles, a Nissan leaf replacement battery cost $16,000. I'm an aerospace engineer and an aerodymanicist.....I really like this car. Tell the stylists to take a hike. They are know-nothing graphic designers. This is actually functional and beautiful in how it works. 0.20 is phenomenal! My favorite car of all time is the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. It has a coefficient of drag of 0.28 (the standard Charger was 0.40) and was the first car to do over 200mph on a closed course. I'm building one with a Hellcat Redeye. See you at Bonneville. Aerodynamics work! This might not have a HEMI, but it still works. They actually have a similar, smaller, C class that has a 600 mile range. I might buy one.

    Product of a drag coefficient and a frontal area is what really matters... Large car with low CD may still have a significant aerodynamic drag..

  • @avsystem3142

    @avsystem3142

    Your comment makes no sense, the drag coefficient (CD) says it all with respect to aerodynamic drag. A CD of 0.20 is impressive for any car regardless of size. It could be lowered even more if the U.S. allowed replacing the exterior rear view mirrors with cameras feeding interior screens.

  • @stasiekpiekarski

    @@avsystem3142 Firstly, it is a fact not an opinion so making no sense is not applicable. Secondly, envoking a specific number may suggest that the car is efficient or eco-friendly. I haven't said that getting low cd is not an engineering achivement. However, it is not a goal in itself but rather a way of getting lower energy consumption. Low cd is necessary but not sufficient. There are four main factors behind the drag forces: Cd and frontal area for aerodynamic drag and mass plus rolling resistance coefficient for rolling drag. To put it into perspective, a brick has lower aerodynic drag than this car due to low frontal area. Speaking of aerodynamic losses, splitting cd from the area is a common practice but it just darkes the picture and is just a marketing activity. The last sentence contains an opinion which you may agree with or not. Don't dispute facts.

    @@stasiekpiekarski Yea its a fact that you do not understand at all what the "drag coefficient" is... Brick has lower aerodynamic drag because it is super small object when you compare it to a full size limousine. Przestań Stasiu pitolić o rzeczach o których nie masz pojęcia!

    @@stasiekpiekarski is somewhat right about drag coefficient can be mis conceiving when comparing the overall drag between vehicles. Since CD is determined by the vehicle's frontal area it might be more preferable to use 'drag-area' CdA which disregard the frontal area and makes comparison easier. One simple example on how CD can be misinterpreted is by comparing spheres. A sphere has CD = 0.47 for a specific speed (or Re = 10^4). But if you compare two identical spheres, one with diameter of 1m and the other 2m, these spheres will have identical drag coefficients but completely different drag force values at the same speed. The same can be said for vehicles, the Tesla model S has CD = 0.24 and the Toyota prius CD = 0.26, but both cars will still have roughly the same drag since the frontal area of the prius is smaller than the Teslas. This is also due to both cars having the same drag-area of CdA = 0.58m^2. Hence, CD can be said to be a bit of a misleading marketing scheme manufacturers use, if they want to be consitent and compare the true aerodynamic drag with other vehicles they should use CdA instead!
