I'm surprised that Jay thought that cars traction control was just "on or off". Even 20 years ago, many cars had "wet, snow, mud" etc settings.
What a baller statement! " I was at the AMG factory and it's not much bigger than my garage"

Ridiculous that it can’t be used on the street in the US. I want to drive my cars. Putting my car on a tow truck to the track is just too much work. The car is almost useless. This guy representing the car is really terrific.

How couldn’t you be a fan! I bet there is at least 500 million people in the USA alone that would absolutely kill for this car and think about the fact that they only made like 1000 of them …… it makes gold look less than worthless
Mr. Leno: We wish you a speedy recovery. Thank you for your work in the entertainment world and your automotive points of view. 😊👍🏽
You had me at "...race car in a tuxedo" Well... you had me way before that. This video is a perfect example of why I eagerly wait for each new 'ride'. Jay, your obvious connoisseurship of the driving experience is what lifts these episodes beyond vicarious pleasure. Loved it. Keep it coming!
I have a BA degree in Automotive Technology from 1992. I started my apprenticeship in 1986. Just the difference in technologies in those 6 years is astounding. The industry moves so fast that if you don't constantly study, you're lost in days, not in years. I can clearly remember learning about Can-Bus wiring controls and ceramic pistons in the 80's but didn't see it widely used until well into the turn of the century. My father has a masters degree in the same field from the early 80's. When I brought home an 86 Shelby Daytona, we both walked around it astonished at the technology crammed into it. When we figured out that it could troubleshoot itself, we both knew that (as mechanics), we had just been down graded to parts changers! Thanks Jay, this one is a good reminder of how fast technology is moving.
Glad to hear from Tommy. Mad respect to Robert and always to Jay. Stay safe and healthy as we will always have an appetite for quality cars and smart people talking about them

Tommy Kendall still looks good. I remember meeting him in the days of AMG challenge... He is an amazing driver.
Mr. Leno and Mr. Kendall thank you for showing us this timeless road going race car. This Mercedes more then any other they sell today , harkens back to a time when Mercedes was truly a craftsmanship driven company. To see these race cars on track and they are fighting against much more aero clean cars and beating them always amazes me. That front end is a true jewel of this car and the resulting blending all the way around the car is just perfect. When I see just the regular road cars Mercedes makes like this I always smile. Because this is a car done right. In every way. Bravo Mercedes Bravo.
“Race car in a tuxedo” is the best line I’ve heard about Mercedes.
This is definitely one of my favorites of all time on Jay’s. Jaw dropping car and the information and commentary from Tommy is incredible. I know Jay is trying not to let on how insane this car is…
This was very insightful and thoroughly entertaining. Tommy really knows his stuff. I like the videos of Tommy driving cars that aren't intended to be a race car at silly fast speeds right on the jagged edge.
This car is absolutely a work of art . I will have one !

I love Jay Leno, such an amazing guy - he knows a lot about cars but he is still so humble. Love watching his car reviews - always with the great questions when it comes to car science with practicality. Thank you for everything @jay
As a lover of everything automotive Jay always has a valid point of view regardless of the era he and his guest discuss. I enjoy the fact that his recollections draw various parallels between old and new. I suppose that he and I are of the same age but I find that certain aspects of his love of cars and generally what he appreciates about the experience of driving are similar to how I myself experience living in the drivers seat. I too, have always shunned asking the car to do things that it was not ‘intended’ to do, witness launch control and ‘overtaxing’ drivetrains etc. Give me a rolling start putting the car through its paces and enjoying the feedback while rolling on the power. Jay provides me with all things automotive, I so much appreciate the details of restoration and maintenance in the various videos where we get to see the ‘bones’ of what makes cars so enjoyable. I am looking forward to his speedy and complete recovery to the point where he’s back doing what he loves best. A real GENUINE guy…!
Thanks again Jay for another great start to the week!
The “Corona” show’s are still my favorites but when Jay gets someone on that’s an honest knowledgeable car guy, someone on Jay’s level or even more, just like Tommy, it makes such a great show!!! I love it when they are just enjoying the time with the cars. Great Episode Jay!!!!! Thank you both!!! I hope you heal up very soon and you’ll be in our prayers. Thank you!

I've been following the development of this car 🚗 and after watching some really good videos of this car I had a pretty good idea of how how well this car was put together. But after watching this video, Jay I have much more information to process and much more respect for this AMG GT Black Series by Mercedes and AMG then I would have thought possible. A very informative video, professional film crew and a professional consultant. Thanks Tommy, thank you Jay for a wonderful time 👍💯. Great video, love the paint scheme.
Robert Herjavec's personal car? That's so badass!!
Great history lesson Mr. Leno, the example about the canoes made it so simple to understand. This is what I truly love about your channel, you make even the most expensive cars, simple for us to understand and you give us the opportunity to experience the car for what it truly is, and never mentioning the price. Thank You for that.🙏🏽

What a great show. I learned a lot from Jay's guest.
Jay Leno always gets great cars on his show. This makes his show fun to watch. Especially when it's this car. The original AMG GT was brilliant. Especially since it could be driven to San Francisco and back with a well sorted back. Thus I'd love to buy this car one day. Romp on it and do so with ease on the body. (:

Jay, great video! I'm familiar with the AMG GT platform because I drove the AMG GTS Biturbo at the Mercedes-Benz AMG Driving Academy. Of course the Black Series is a big step up but to drive any of the variants is special. I enjoy my C350 daily driver yet it's fun to drive M-B's supercars, as we both know. :)
