Meps Doctors be like

Recruiters will appreciate this. If you've joined a military branch before, it means you had to through the MEPS in order to enlist. Here is a sketch of MEPS doctors, and the detective like tactics they use to get info out of you.
Comedy.

Private Joker- I can't tell you what to do, but I don't recommend lying in general. Use common sense. Some shit you can probably get away with, but if you hide arrests of any kind, criminal history of any kind, or medical history, you can get kicked out for fraudulent enlistment and they never let you in again. Not trying to scare you but I saw it happen to guys, they lied at MEPS and got kicked out later when the service found out. Also, you recruiter doesn't lose if you get caught for lying at any point from MEPS onward. You lose. They grant waivers for all kinds of shit, a lot of stuff just needs to be documented. I'm not saying tell em fuckin everything but they don't forgive if you get caught after lying to them.

Kyle Hurling right on point man. What many applicants going to MEPS need to understand is that MEPS doctors are not your friends. Don't try to start a conversation with them (unless they ask you a question) don't add anything extra to what you say. The more extra details you add, the more the doctor will question you and it'll just make it even more difficult than it is. Just keep your answers small, truthful and simple.

Pythagorean theorem. Hope you paid attention. if not then study some of those basic methods of solving problems. And definitely know how to get an equation out of a paragraph because there are word problems. Half of my entire time on the test was spent on the math because I never really knew the fastest way to an answer. I just worked it out until i came across something that made sense. It's multiple choice and I wasn't timed. give EVERY SINGLE QUESTION your ABSOLUTE BEST ANSWER. has nothing to do with being smart. just don't give up a single question. work it until you come up with your best answer, even if you've never seen this question in your life. don't guess. work every question until what you got is one of the multiple choices. has nothing to do with being smart.

On the questionnaire they give you at MEPS there is a column with a lot of BS "yes or no" questions that everyone should say no to, but in the middle of them there is a question that says "Are you currently in good health?", so if you're mindlessly skimming through it and mark no for that one as well, then you get interrogated by the doctors and you'll probably get sent home. That's all it takes. I swear that is the first question they look at when you hand back the sheet.

Nick O`Sullivan dude you're 100 percent correct. I went to MEPS a year ago, everyone except for the doctors were assholes, especially the civilian staff who were checking our weight. A lot of guys including myself got disqualified because of weight standards that our recruiters were supposedly wrong about. I was at a decent weight the day of MEPS, staff there said I had to be below 185 for Army National Guard, which didn't make since to me considering that was the weight you had to be at before shipping to basic, not for enlistment. My recruiter and I went over that when I got back and he wasn't to happy about it. Hell even my roommate the previous night who had already been to MEPS twice because of an injury that happened 1 year prior to that day and was fully healed was disqualified. He was trying to join the Navy, he just had to show the MEPS staff his letter from his personal doctor which stated that he was fine and is eligible to enlist. It had the doctor's signature and office number for verification. Nope. Got sent back because his doctor wasn't in the military and therefore wasn't valid for enough for them. He and I were mad as shit, hell everyone was lol. Funniest thing that day was when we did the "Underwear Olympics" the people I was with started laughing, I looked up and I noticed a guy had a shit stain on his boxers 😂😂

Sarah White sorry for the late reply, I didn't notice the notification on my account. But yeah he was able to enlist, I'm not sure how he did since he and I haven't spoke since the day of MEPS. I only know because I saw a picture of his graduation at bootcamp on Facebook. But did you have surgery on your wrist? It's good that you can use full range of motion, but even with push ups, pull ups, and any other exercise too? I fell off a hoverboard a couple of months ago and hurt my wrist. I didn't break or fracture anything, I just couldn't do push ups for about a month because it hurt so much, but after 2 1/2 months I didn't feel any pain at all. Those are the types of things you don't have to mention at meps. But if you did have surgery then be sure to bring all your documents the hospital gave you after the surgery, as well as a letter from your doctor that states you are eligible for military service.

I didn't need any waivers. He knew i was bullshiting about a scar on my elbow (i had said that i never saw a doctor and it wasn't stitched) but he didn't press me on it. Whatever you do, know the line and stick to the line. Some doctors can see through your shit, but they can't prove it. My physician realized during the exam that i had asthma, but i stuck to the line and got through. Be respectful and dress well and people will be more inclined to help.

Playa Hater Silky Johnson my buddy scored 8. And he wanted to be a marine so bad😂😂. Then the recruiter asks "who thinks they got a high score?" My buddy dead ass says "I think I did. I got a 8." Recruiter didn't even look at him the rest of the day.

I got through Meps with a bent arm that I'd broken 9 times and two surgery scars by saying I've never even been to a Hospital. My fucking arm isn't even straight and the Doc looked at me and said "Alright then and sent me on my way". Though, then he turned around and ruined my life with "You're colorblind" -_-

Legit had the opposite. My doctor at MEPS was nice. Granted he disqualified me at first. But he wrote me a letter of recommendation to BUMED and explained that my condition didn't hinder me. He helped me get my waiver approved in 20 minutes.

My grandfather served during the Korean War Era and he told met the time he was trying to be funny at MEPS, when he was told to bend over and spread his cheeks he bent over and pulled his cheeks on his mouth apart and stood there. The doctors were not amused he had to sweep the entire floor butt ass naked until they told him to quit. I will never forget that story.
