Meeting My Biological Father For The First Time | Russia Travel Vlog | Part 3

This is it.
The last piece of the puzzle that I went to find on this trip.
Another major checkmark off my list.
Thank you so so much for joining me on this journey. Your support through KZread and Instagram- gave me a lot of strength and courage.
Thank you,
Valeria

My mother has been always a very confused and confusing person with some dose of narcissism, lot of mental traumas and even though she raised me with values, her negative way of seeing all things, affected me so deeply until today. You are very lucky that your mom is such a balanced person and respects your boundaries. The way she talks to you at the end of the video makes me wanna cry, because I believe that is the healthy way of a parent to talk to his child. She respects your personality and doesn't have any "demand" to reflect her own needs throughout you. Just beautiful.

I wanted to feel sorry for you but then I realized I was reading something I could’ve written myself. My mom’s the same. She thinks ‘differently’. She picks one of us (her 3 kids) to be a favorite for the month then cusses and threatens and just breaks our hearts with words the other two. Recently, we noticed she wasn’t talking to any of us. The three of us decided then that in the longest time, we’ve never felt this happy and healthy. We’re keeping things this way now on. Cutting ties with our own mother who always reminded us that we will never fit her standards and that we will never be as good as her. She’s been poison to us for as long as we could remember.

Life happened, I had 3 children and at 28 I decided to go back and meet my family and father. It was sooo emotional. But it’s the best thing I ever did. The following year I brought my children to meet their grandfather and their great grandparents. Now we speak most weeks, it’s not perfect but it’s better then nothing. Thank you for being so raw and sincere in this vlog. I've been watching you for a year and a half now, and I can sincerely say that you have helped me become stronger, simply because you are strong yourself. What your mother said in your first vlog about your trip, how she knew that "Valeria" means strength, is true. Never doubt that, because I'm super happy that you've said yourself how proud you were after the cemetery. Your children and husband are very lucky to have such a fierce and hardworking person in their lives, something your mother passed onto you in a beautiful way. So touching and raw and real, I really connected to you and cried with you and laughed with you & I feel like we’re friends. And to make someone feel like a friend just through a vlog, through a screen, even though we never talked in real life - I admire & respect you for that. And hope to reach the same level in my vlogs. ❤️

I know this is a really old video.. but I just found it. I have not seen my father since I was 3, and it brings me so much pain to think that I was unwanted by my own father... after watching this it makes me feel at peace, and makes me appreciate the sacrifice and struggle my mom went through to give us a good life. Thanks xo.

This was by far the most powerful piece you shared with us. Chocked up so many times. Just bring back so many memories of my own from when we left Russia to come to Israel. Your mom is just amazing! And like she said: we all have a story to tell. The fact that you shared yours with the world so openly and sincerely, is not something any one of us who watch you can take for granted. It was so intimate and sacred and you let us all in. Thank you for letting us be a part of something so yours. You’re an amazing soul, and like the one person on KZread I can sit and watch for 36 minutes straight completely captivated by your story and the way you chose to tell it. Спасибо тебе, Лера! ❤️

I am a Russian girl born in ‘94 in Moscow. I remember growing up and hearing news about the war in Chechnya, about the attacks on Stavropol towns and such, and always being terrified of them. I came to Kavkaz for the first time ever in my life in 2018 via the same very airport in Minvody to ski on Elbrus. This region is magical. Being there soothes your mind, nurtures your soul. The nature, the people, the history. This small part of your story resonates so much with me. I absolutely admire your mother. She reminds me so much of my friends’s moms, self-made strong independent women, very elegant and beautiful, very talented, very tender yet so tough who managed to make it through the 90s and even come out of the situation with some economic benefits (like buying a large apartment in Moscow all by themselves). She is the epitome of what it means to be Russian (even though I perfectly understand that her background is so much more than just Russian). I aspire to become someone as strong and as wise as I get older. I wish your family all the best, peace and prosperity, and lots of happiest years to come!

Partly because seeing how strong your good values are made me feel sad for how many people are lacking of them and don't even know what beauty they're being missing. And secondly because you riminded me of my adorable grandfather who had a strong impact to me and I'll be loving him for the rest of my life. Grandparents are the sweetest thing we might have. Your mom is amazing. The story of how she (a successful singer and entertainer) cleaned up the sewage just to be in the ER with you at 8 months old is so humbling. And when you said that she never let her ego get in the way, it just really opened my eyes. Amazing words of wisdom that I hope to live by. Thank you for sharing. You are both so truly beautiful.

Your mother is absolutely amazing. Makes me feel so lucky that I still have and live with both my mother and babcia who emigrated here to Canada from Poland. Immigrant stories like this are so important, you see the backbones of every woman who suffers unimaginable circumstances... to see you being able to share this respect with your mother is just beautiful. It makes me want to brush up on my Polish and have more conversations with my grandmother. The strength of these women, women like your mother, is what makes the world turn.

I love how you don’t try to make your life look too ‘perfect’ although it seems like a wonderful life. I watch your videos because they are insightful and honest and you bring your bright personality to them all in a really effortless way. And this particular video is such a sensitive experience for you, and you bring us along on the journey without sensationalising anything for the sake of views, but simply to show life as it is, as it happens. That dance belongs to all PEOPLE who live in KAVKAZ mountains (or in english CAUCASIAN mountains). That traditional dance belongs to Azeri, Armenians, Georgians, and russians regardless of religion. because it has to do with geography of Caucasian mountains or the Kavkaz people who live in kavkaz region (caucasian region).

Nonetheless like you I have a phenomenal and strong mother! Women are made of sterner stuff! She too took me away for a better life! God bless our mothers and we can be joyful and everlastingly positive than worry about missing fathers. I love the transparency of real emotions that pours out of you and mum! God bless you all and for all those out there that has a missing dad? Just remember that you are stronger for it! Use it as a bridge for empowerment and live on! Love you all! Alex B

Both you and your mama are so strong !!! I have so much respect for her moving to a different country with a child and building everything from scratch only to move and start all over again... a mothers strenght is the most powerful thing in the world, she's a true inspiration 💖

That was so moving. I really admire your mother with everything she has faced and overcome, and how despite it all, she raised you on her own and did a wonderful job. She seems like such a kind person, and so forgiving of the people who were unkind to her. She's such a role model, and I am so glad you shared this with us. I'm also really proud of you for overcoming your hesitation and going with your mum and coming back a much wiser person! I hope the best for you and your family!

Dear Valeria, I only just 'discovered' you here on YT because a Dutch YT-ber mentioned you. I want you to know that I like you so much and you really touched me... I love how you love your mom and your family and it is so amazing that you have created such a loving family with your amazing husband and adorable boys. Your backgroundstory and your moms strength is so inspiring. And the way you cherish that is wonderful to watch. I just had to let you know how much appreciation I have for you and your culture and story. It is truly so inspiring how you guys all interact at the work place, at home with the family and I wish you all the best! Thanks for sharing! Lots of love from the Netherlands, Danielle
