Come with me as I go in search of Moscow's most glamorous area. Today, I find myself in Partiarch's Ponds also known as Patriki, the playground of Moscow's rich and famous. Luckily, some friendly locals spot me speaking English and take me under their wing to show me around. If you want to see just how friendly and welcoming the locals are in Moscow then you have to watch this video!
Maria and Kate are both English teachers. If you would like to enquire about lessons with them please contact them on Telegram.

People are on majority, mean and very keenly obsessed with their rights OVER you. Friendliness in the street or a store does not exist in usa. It's a culture where everything tells you you don't exist unless you are extra ordinary, so there is a huge self entitlement toxic culture and it's all about "I'm better than you". This is to typical ..go for a walk and meet a new friend or two, hang out at a pub and walk all over while discussing everything culture to music to travel to school to art, to nature literature to anything. Last night I dropped into a small cafe and music club, tiny only 10 seats but within a 2o minute it became known I was from California but lived here in central St Petersburg for 24 years and gradually everyone in the place was gathered around and we talked about everything, mostly attractive girls who were much too young for me but we all exchanged contact into and 3 hours later I left to visit a jazz club. A fter that thoroughly delightful 3 hours I headed out the door around midnight, still light since it is White Nights, I got down the street a block a girl, very cute and vivacious came running after me. She wanted to tell me to be careful because I had an expensive camera and 200 mm lens. She was concerned that being a foreigner I might not know it was dangerous. We chatted for some time and I explained I was shooting on the street many days of the the week before she was born and never heard of anyone having a problem but the conversation was so sweet and sincere and I took a few photos of her and walked her back to her friends and met all of them and we all shared contact info. She was 18 with glowing freshness of her face and great figure, sparkling personality. Her friends were a little older and buddies from school. It is so safe and respectful of girls that they are very social with strangers so I fear of they went to another country that did not value value so much, they might into trouble. I am 74 years old, very active socially and am known by thousands of people here particularly in the music scene because they all known songs/alums they heard or have that were recorded in my California studio, 197 gold and platinum albums, many before they were born.. They know a very wide range of music, ballet, opera, art and literature and always open to new discoveries. So needless to say, I love it here, so friendly smart, cultured, well mannered and pleasant to meet. It seems like a different more advanced species to anyone used to UK or US young adults. I do not even know anyone younger than 50 who overweight, they are all so attractive and pleasant, like these girls who popped up in the otherwise uninspiring video. You have an outgoing personality so try meeting strangers and film the interaction, it would be interesting.

About everything from strings to the antics of stars. I would kidnap you, put you in the most comfortable position, bring you the most delicious food and drinks and listen endlessly. I've read various books on the biographies of bands from the 70s to the 90s, but they tell so little about life. My city, St. Petersburg, turned 319 4 days ago. In our government there was Arap Petrovich Hannibal - a Black guy. Who not only had a title, but was also a close friend of the emperor, adviser, and officer. At a time when the USA did not even exist as a country on the map or in history. This is an open story. In the USA they were transferred to “seats for colored” in the 20th century, and in Russia there was already a People’s Friendship University named after Patrice Lumumba. We have been fighting on our territory for 1000 years, we have a genetic code. We direct our plane into a column of tanks and cover the machine gun with our body. My city was under siege for 900 days and ordinary people did not surrender it. Half of my family are blockade survivors and veterans. This is why everyone hates us so much. Although even the Stanislavsky system is the basis in Hollywood, and 60% of US inventions were made by Russian-speaking migrants. But we do not refuse other people's achievements, art, language. Richie Samborra said "The C chord in Russia is the same as the C chord in the USA" and he is absolutely right. It also pains me to see how the fucking Democrats in the White House are destroying a beautiful country, with interesting people who gave me a lot of joy with their achievements, especially in the entertainment field. It is a pity that the US government does not understand that the US does not know how to fight. But the US is the genius of the show. This country could be a center of entertainment, cinema, music. You do this better than anyone on the planet!

A mere youngster...I have been here since 2000 and first visit in 1976 and even then fell in love with Leningrad and despite visiting 92 countries my heart was in St Petersburg as Leningrad returned to the original name in the early 90s. If you have a pension you can live very well on that as long as you limit your number of younger girlfriends. I started few businesses here without money and did well my largest one was in incoming tourism with contracts with the major cruise lines to be their destination management company providing 2-3 day comprehensive tours. Covid ended cruise ships coming here so it was the only important port in the Baltic, the ships stayed a few hours in other ports but 2-3 days here. But the cost of living is so low and services so good, there is no need for a car. It is clean safe and very social and likely the most cultured city in the world. But it is not really easy to migrate, but there are ways one is being an English teacher which gives a good income and flexible hours and sponsorship and eventually that can lead to residency. Americans get 3 years visas to that makes it easier. If your government was not so hostile to the visas would be a lot longer. If single and active in good health, you will find a lot of rather attractive older women who would love to marry you if you are kind, pleasant and not a drink. Marrying to a Russian women is a path to citizenship. I am 74 and date a lot, never over 50 but my main dating partners now are 36 and 47, both beautiful fit and very feminine, one is a successful actor on stage and singer, they other is a lawyer and former model, both fit and feminine, the later one passes for 30 and still get swimsuit modeling gigs like one on Bali for Vogue. If you are social and out on foot you will meet attractive very nice well educated personable women daily At 74 I am not ready to settle down yet. Most of my friends are young, 20s and 30s because we have similar interests and activities. Be a little outgoing and strike up conversations in line for the opera or on the street or with whom ever is in the seat next to you in a jazz clubs you will have more interesting friends in a week than you have now. The interaction between males and females so normal and pleasant, the women do not hate men like in the US and both sexes like each other and appreciate each other.

I have no criminal record, don't do nor have ever touched drugs and I can take or leave alcohol, in other words, alcohol isn't my world, but driving and cars is!. I love cars. And when it comes to women, I am a bit of a romantic I think, but I have given up on western women because they are either, so cold and callous or so feminist and have blue hair or identify as a rose bush or something like that. Despite all these attributes and knowing right from wrong, that may not make me a decent person. I don't pre-judge myself. Admitedly in the west, around my english speaking peers, I guess I am not an easy person to get along with, but I cannot engage with this woke mentality most of my brethren have. And I think everything good or bad is okay, in moderation but i'm struggling to get to grips with what is basically racism towards Russian's. They haven't done anything to me, and what they do to Ukrainians and vice versa is frankly none of my business!. To be honest, I don't believe the people of my country are capable of thinking for themselves anymore. I think they are completely subservient and are very much like Borg drones from Star Trek.

There is an interesting subtle moment at 5:02, when you started speaking freely, and one of the girls turned around to her friend and make this gesture like “yeaaah that is it”. I can bet that this is due to your wonderful Scottish accent. British, Scottish and Irish accents are highly valued amongst Russian teachers and students. No clue why but your way of speaking is like honey for ears of ours («мёд для ушей» - Russian saying)

I have been studying Scotland and learned the geography and cities. This all happened because I traced my brother-in-laws family tree and his grandpa came from Dundee. His grandfathers great grandfather went to Crimea and died in the Crimean war in 1855. In the process of digging for his family members I went down endless holes and wild goose chases but in the process learned all the different little towns and the big ones. Also my friends grandfather came from Scotland and I tracked down his town and then traced his tree back to the 1600's. He was very happy.
