Today is Russia day, a public holiday, so that means no work. Instead, Alfiya and I take a Metro out to Schukinskaya station and then a short taxi ride to GOSUP!
It’s my first time trying Stand-up Paddle Boarding but Alfiya is a pro. She says as a man I should not fall in while she is watching. Will I embarrass myself and never see her again? You’ll have to watch to find out!

That was a bit of the less travelled Moscow, very different but enjoyable. So long as you don't end up in a duel it should be fine.The Scottish actor Brian Cox did a piece on Russia where he found that one of Russia's first authors, Lermontov, had Scottish roots (Learmouth) and died in a duel. There is a museum to him somewhere which looked cool. If you go to St Petersburg there is a big store that looks like Forsythe's on Princes street.(Same architects).

@@scottishguyinmoscow may I suggest while you are north you take in Pavlovsk, and Pushkina. When in St Petersburg venturing to the top of St Isaacs Cathedral is a must. Love both Moscow and at Petersburg. Enjoyed Veliky Novgorod too. I can't wait until I go back.

As cool as it is to paddle with pretty ladies it would be even cooler if the people of the country had free speech and would be allowed to protest and if opposition politicans would be allowed to live without getting jailed, poisoned and murdered.
