Back To My Roots| Russia Travel Vlog | Part 1

Hi loves,
So happy to start sharing my Russia adventure with you. I feel so lucky to be able to experience this with my mother who grew up in this country and had me here. We left Russia when I was 2 years old and my mother was 21. This trip started with St. Petersburg so we could experience the history, architecture and beauty.
This is our first 2 days.

I have a mega soft spot for Russian people. I find alot of time people tend to have a certain view regarding eastern European people because they are not to keen on the people that come over to earn their money through cheap labour. I was raised in Germany but moved to the UK several years ago and in both countries I have noticed this attitude forward eastern european migrants. My best friend is Russian and I also worked with alot of Russians in the past and from my perspective you guys are the most kind and family orientated people besides being incredibly hard working. I think if you're not familiar with the mentality you can get a bit scared off by the cold faced phasad and the harshness some Russians have about them but seriously once you get to know them they tend to be the nicest people ever. Watching this video makes me miss my friend and the lovely time I had at her house with her family. Love the relationship you have with your mom xxx

I moved to Scotland when I was 18. I only had 300 pounds in my pocket and I was staying in the cheapest hostel. Now, 7 years later, I am graduating from University and I never thought of myself as a strong person. Until I heard your mom's little story about coming to another country. I also had to learn a new language, adapt to the culture and work my butt off at the worst possible jobs. But I made it. So can you!(the reader)

Do not be offended, but all Russian people are very wise. Russian people are very philosophical and they very well tie philosophy to reality. Ask the Russian person any question, ask him to answer it "globally" and you will hear about a new world that was previously inaccessible to you. That is why, often, Western politicians can not understand Russian people. Very deep soul, huge heart and unpredictable behavior. Russians do as the heart commands, not logic. They are difficult to predict and calculate ahead of time.

Then I see your mom in this video and what she said literally made me cry. There is nobody who gets this struggle but those who have been through it. Could you ask your mom for us followers, what she did and does now, how she became successful, what exactly does she advise us to do? I would love a video like that. Oh, you don't even know how this video touched me💕 As a polish girl I find russians to be very similar to us, we kind of think in the same way, have similar culture. Of course there are a lot of differences, but in general there is a lot in common between us. It is so beautiful to see how you are exploring the culture and the talk with your mum almost made me tear up😢 Your mum is so like mine. I love how strong and wise she is. And I would never tell that you used to be insecure or scared of everything! That gives me hope because that's what I am now, an 18 years old girl with no faith in herself, that is scared of life. This video is so important to me, it gives me this beautiful feeling that I can do antyhing, that my culture is beautiful, that i have a wonderful family etc. I love you, I love your pure heart, your naturality, your honesty and streangh. You are my favourite youtuber, that's for sure! 🌹😍 I could write and write a lot more, but I think that would be a little crazy 😂 So just know, that you are doing a great job! 💪💗

She raised me completely alone because of my father’s absence in my life and hers, but we managed to be strong and independent women, to create our own destiny. Your mom is amazing. I can't imagine at 21 with a 2 year old, immigrating to a new country and with just $200 in my pocket. It makes you realise how easy we have it these days in terms of our first world problems. I hope to see more of your mom in your vlogs. I have been learning Russian ( only been to Moscow a few times) and it was nice listening to her speak and not really needing the subtitles as much. I am rewatching your Russian Travel Vlogs fort the 2nd time. Can't get enough of the connection you have with your mom, and the feelings you've been sending through these videos. It reminds me so much of mine and my mom's story (also born in the 90'S to a 19 years old mother in a Post- Soviet Union country, also seeing her as the tallest and strongest mountain I can lean on, also had to face a reconection with my dad after years and years). I just wanted to thank you for what you do by showing the reality of life and by not only being a pretty picture on the internet. You and your mom are beautiful, strong and admirable women which "сами себя сделали" - "made themselves", as your mom likes to say. It was soothing to watch you and it helped me to overcome the geographical distance between me and my mom at the moment. I am far from home now and at times it gets lonely to move on by yourself - and you both just make it easier to find reasons to become smarter, more confident, more powerful and to just jump over the condition that i'm just a tiny, frail woman. Lots of love to you and your family

Valeria...I see where you get your strength from. Your mother. She seems like such an intelligent, cultured, and wise woman. It's amazing. I'd like to know more of her story one day :) Russia seems like a beautiful country too, full of history, both terrifying and revolutionary, I can't wait for the next vlog! xoxo
