I’ll be honest, this isn’t the video I wanted to show you guys after an entire year. At the start of 2019, I pictured creating a video exactly like I envisioned in my head - something that would satisfy the crazy perfectionist within me, but it didn’t happen. This was a big wake up call, and left me in the final quarter of 2019 feeling lost, and unmotivated. I didn’t want to create anything, and was once again stuck with that all too familiar feeling of “this just isn’t it”. But, with all that being said, if there’s anything this year has taught me, it’s that everything won’t always go according to plan - and sometimes that’s exactly what needs to happen in order to grow. Sometimes we need those bumps in the road in order to spark inspiration and push us towards that goal we’re so desperately trying to achieve. Whether it’s making videos for a living, becoming a lawyer, designing a fashion line, or starting your own business - we all have that dream we’re chasing. And I’m pumped to say that even through all the ups and downs this year’s thrown my way, I feel like I’m one step closer to achieving mine. After looking back, I realized there were so many incredible moments from this last year that I want to share with you, even if it wasn’t the way I initially intended. So... Here’s why I spent the last year traveling the world. Hope you enjoy :)

what's your gear list for this trip? its insane. I shoot with a GH5 which I love but it doesn't do so well in low light. I have a trip to the Dominican in 3 weeks and will be trying my best to get some amazing footage.

Hello Jacob, your video has been amazing, I’ve been only on work all my life and never really had any leisure till I saw this nine months ago, I think I heard that voice too and I got a ticket to Norway and stayed in a two person holiday home in Aheim. The experience was just out of this world, I called 6 of my friends and had them come to an 8 person vacation home in skei I Jolster. We spent over a two weeks here. Thank you so much for this. I’m looking forward to trying more than one country this time.

Travelling around the world is one of my BIGGEST DREAMS I have always wanted to achieve since I was a child. Even so, I am still a highschool teenager amidst studying my final year and continuing my pre-u in college. Similar to you, I've always felt rather pointless and useless in studying instead of pursuing my dreams of travelling. I always had this mentality where I do not have enough money in order to travel and all - but your video really inspired me to think otherwise. As of now, I feel travelling isn't really the best option as my parents discourage due to the much travel restrictions and my young age. However, I will not give up. I will continue to study, and hopefully one day earn enough money to travel across the world - especially Australia, and Europe. I watched your entire video and I also sincerely wish to one day watch the northern lights. It has been my dream for years now, and I really do hope it would be my reality one day. Thank you Jakob for such an inspirational sharing. You've just earned yourself a subscriber. Much respect and love from Malaysia! :)

this! transitions are so overused and when done poorly it just makes awesome footage look cheap. not everyone is a sam kolder and thats ok if you ask me. everyone tries to copy that style and obv can't do it. youtube's standards are so high nowadays... keep your style and keep improving, loved the storytelling and stunning shots.:) ps: thanks for the aspect ratio, looks stunning in windowed and fullscreen :)

I'm thinking about my life every day recently. In Japan, almost college students need to get a job after graduate even if they don't want to. After that, you know..... At first, your music taste is the greatest. All songs fit sooo well! Secondly, you have the best color grading skills of all the cinematic travel youtuber! Your footage is soo clean and your shots make me very emotional. My jaw dropped at least three times and I had to pause the video. You deserve much more subscribers. I really don't know how you are able to improve your video skills, because I think that you are already at the highest skill level. Really! Just don't be too hard on yourself. I'm absolutely in love with this video!! It resonates with me A LOT, I ended up crying and motivated to listen to the voice inside me and just go and see the world💖

he actually lived my future and my Dreams, damn i beat up tho, but he said that; it’s that everything won’t always go according to plan - and sometimes that’s exactly what needs to happen in order to grow. Sometimes we need those bumps in the road in order to spark inspiration and push us towards that goal we’re so desperately trying to achieve.

I've watched this video about a thousand times. It keeps motivating me to find a way to get out Venezuela and start traveling the world. This video is just PERFECT. Guys, believe that you can do anything, hope everyone here finds a chance to travel around the world.

I also struggle with motivation and inspiration for making content, which is ironic since my channel is about motivation but I feel I can empathize with how you feel/felt. Wow! This is more than incredible!!! It’s so crazy thinking how well you can capture moments!! It’s easy to film but super hard to show you vision, goal, and emotions through video!
