Most of dozens of players I've seen died to the first moss knight. She, five minutes after she defeated him without getting hit once: "Oh no, I lost my blue hearts, so annoying".

Some words of warning: there will be times where you are lost / just aimlessly wandering around, not knowing where to go next (at least it was like this for me and many others playing the game). Let me just tell you right now that the silent majority is here to see exactly this: you having this sense of wonder and discovery just like we did playing the game for the first time. I, and I am sure many others too, am here to get excited at you slowly uncovering this beautiful world. I guess this comment is just trying to get ahead of potential negative noise down the road (akin to Bloodborne), because these types of games unfortunately bring some annoying „fans“ with them, even though the majority of the fandom is welcoming and awesome. I just want to see someone slowly fall in love with Hollow Knight, at whatever pace and through whatever approach, so I can vicariously relive a first playthrough to potentially fill the hole inside me that was left since 100%ing this game

I bought for 5$ in the eshop. After beating it,I was so ashamed of myself. This game is a masterpiece. I could easily pay more for it.

I love the back and forth between the maniacal laughter when squishing bugs and the guilty conscience afterwards. Duality of man right there.

the fact that you beat Hornet on your first try is insane to me lol, she was a MAJOR roadblock for me when I first played HK. Took me at least 20 tries to beat her. Keep up this series, it's loads of fun

I find it incredibly funny because it mirrored my experience almost 1:1 up to the greenpath. Haplessly wondering while staring at all the pretty stuff before eventually finding my way over, getting my ass kicked by hornet till I somehow managed to best her by shear luck. On my second play through she absolutely handed me my ass, I stunned her once before she absolutely demolished me lol.

28:21 honestly i highly recommend indulging that urge! the first time i ever entered my favorite area in the game i killed all the enemies in a room and then stood there for a solid five minutes looking at the music and watching the background animation. i will genuinely never forget the feeling that gave me. if you ever wanna just stop and look around and listen for a minute you should, it's very worth it. really enjoying your playthrough, and really really impressed at how talented you are at this game :)

To add to this, grab a nice cup of whatever soothes you while you stare at the scenery and take in the sounds. This game is amazingly atmospheric and she's barely seen the most amazing of the views so far. Will be well worth indulging in the feeling when it comes rather than feeling guilty. Harder to appreciate it the second, third, whatever time you play and then feel you can take it in. Long streams often have intermissions or breaks for a few minutes, no reason a big 2 hr playthrough vid cant either, especially in a game like this.

MaterWelonz also did very solid, if you are looking for skill during a blind play-through.

Leaving the obvious aside (this game being a lovely masterpiece with amazing art, falling in love, etc) , I'm amazed how far you've gotten without a single death AND plenty of stuff (from chapter 1) you found out inmediatly like, you can bounce on things, or random guesses here and there which actually prove to be right later. Nice going.

The way that you have been playing is almost exactly how Team Cherry intended for you to do so. You have been paying attention to little dialogue cues, and the hints that areas will give you about the areas that border them. There is a natural progression to the game, to an extent. Keep following the cues and you'll be fine and dandy.

I love that you're taking your time to appreciate the environments, the dialogues, and even the Hunter's book. I have never seen anyone else do that.

It's great to hear someone pointing out all these details that are usually hiding in the subconscious. You can tell how every sound and image was carefully placed.

That Gathering Swarm charm will change your life! Not needing to drop down or worry about collecting ANY geo helps a lot, especially with getting more geo for the more expensive items. (I also personally enjoy and think you'll like it's animation!)

@@blubber0_0 gimmicky? You put it on and never worry about another pickup a day in your life? Huh? If you're that concerned about notches then go buy the extra Notch Slots from the vendor that sells them. Until she has charms that even will fill up those notches, I definitely recommend it. Especially in areas with more spikes and water. She's also kinda like I am. She will drop all the way to the bottom of the area to collect 1 geo that fell. That reason alone makes it worth it. It's not like you're permanently locked into a charm. It could be used solely on even farming runs and still be helpful

A full playthrough of this would be amazing! The commentary is great and funny. Your attention to detail is also something that you don't see with a lot of creators. It's definitely worth it for this game! Can't wait for next part

I'm so glad you're continuing this series! it's so chill and It literally feels like I'm experiencing the game again.. edit: you're seriously doing great, better than most players their first times haha and i like your style of playthrough, it's inquisitive, and it's enjoyable to watch when a person is genuinely interested in the game

The caterpillars are called grubs, and the mustachioed mister the aptly titled Grubfather. Glad to see you’ve fallen in love with all the charm and flavor the game has to offer. Hollow Knight has this intoxicating way of being tragic and horrifying yet charming and adorable all at once lol Please don’t hesitate to take a moment to soak in all the aesthetic and flavor in those moments where you just want to sit on a bench and listen to the ambient noise and music or something. I understand wanting to focus on pacing for the content, but at the same time, most modern gamers champion gameplay over everything. So seeing someone appreciate environmental/audio design so genuinely is incredibly gratifying for immersive gamers. And this game certainly warrants it besides. Just my two cents PS a proboscis is like a nose or beak basically. Mosquitos needles they suck blood with, for example

I love that first moment when the Greenpath title card pops up and the music kicks in, it really shows how beautiful this game can be, especially after the bleakness of Dirtmouth and the Forgotten Crossroads

I know!!! Since the only other game I played at that point was Cuphead, I was so bad at Hollow knight and confused by the map so I got stuck in forgotten crossroads for literal hours, but when I saw the beautiful flora of green path, I instantly loved the game for more reasons besides the grubs and finally got into it and understood what kind of game I was playing. It's now my favorite.

*Drops platform on stinkybug* "Oh no that's sad :(" *sees another bug under a platform* "Stay there!"

@@BDRmongoose I really wanted to like the Ori games since I love hollow knight and celeste was kind of enjoyable for most parts, but I couldn't get into Ori. It was so confusing to me and I had no idea how to progress at multiple points so I gave up. Hollowknight, celeste and Cuphead are the only games I've played that actually have gameplay or a map so maybe the learning curve on Ori was just way too steep for me to catch on and comprehend

First time I played Hollow Knight was just a few months ago, and I was fresh from playing Rogue legacy2 a lot (another 2d platformer with tight melee combat, for context). Even with that experience fresh I didn't do even half as good as she's doing, it's amazing to watch her just kill all bosses 1st attempt, find secrets left and right, ace platforming puzzles with ease... And she even started the playthrough with a warning that she's not good in this type of games? C'mon, she's massively gifted and has great intuition! ♥

I had to use a guide to know i had to go to greenpath and went through 5 different guides to beat hornet. Now i have radiant all bosses, the amount of time I spent on this game is impressive

I'm still so glad I found your channel - watching you play so many games I've enjoyed for the first time takes me back to the wonder of first experiencing them myself. You've got a great instinct for figuring out the combat and mechanics and puzzles of this game so it's a joy to watch!

She's good - way better than most beginners including me when I first started, but I've never shouted the words "HEAL! FREAKING HEAL YOURSELF!" at my screen so often.

You haven't died once and you already beat Hornet at Greenpath. Truly a gamer.

That memory of yours is quite impressive. How you remember the names, places and bits of the story so early is beyond me. I have to be reminded 1000 times in a game to remember loll. Lucky gal!

This is by far the longest I've ever seen a first time player last before dying for the first time. Bravo!

I love how you don't panic even when you say you are. So many players don't adapt as well as you. The hornet fight was prime example.

The best part of these videos is the childish joy you give off every time you find something new.

It should be illegal for someone to be this charming to listen to, this competent of a combatant, this inquisitive of an explorer, and this engaging to watch... ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I already said this, but I'm saying it again: I DO NOT WATCH "LET'S PLAYS" (or reaction channels), like EVER... but I loved every second of this! A good portion is cuz it's Hollow Knight (maybe my favorite standalone game of the last decade), but even that isn't enough to watch hours of another person playing it. I guess you just have an intoxicatingly enthusiastic personality. Also, I know everyone already said this too, but WHAT?!?!?! You beat Hornet ON YOUR FIRST TRY!?!?! I just 😳... HOW?! Hollow Knight is a masterpiece, please do the full playthrough. I love seing seing someone experience it for the first time and fall in love with it like i did. This helps a lot with the long wait for silksong. Nobody beats hornet on their first try. Very impressive. I cringed when you didn't find the bench near hornet before you fought her as I anticipated you having to take a long walk to try again. Then you made hornet look easy. The music in this game is incredible. It only gets better.

This game is really, really good about making sure that there's basically nothing you can miss permanently, so you definitely don't need to worry about that. Literally just go wherever the wind takes you and you will eventually get to the right spot

Good job beating Hornet. She's basically a combat skill-check. Observing the attack patterns like that is how you'll get past all of the bosses. But with her specifically... TAKE NOTE of what she tells you. Unlike other NPC's, she'll leave after your conversations so you'll have to pay attention and remember what she says the first time. As for exploration, you will be returning to and through areas. As you unlock more abilities, more secrets will be made available to you. Platforming challenges usually mean some kind of reward. And the most difficult challenges will give you the largest upgrades.

I already finished this game like more than 5 times, and it's awesome to see a person discovering this wonderful and beautiful world. I'm loving this series, btw it was this series that made me discover your channel, keep up the good content. Peace

This game was such a gem. Few studios could make a great game with Soulsborne elements. This small team is one of them. their mix of Soulsborne, metroidvania and platformer is just perfect.

Don't know how I got here, but i clicked as soon as youtube suggested me another Hollow Knight let's play. Keep up and embrace the "i'm lost/don't know if I miss something" feeling. I would guess most people that look for gameplays for this game love it so much that they want to see other people having similar feeling with each discovery or boss attempt. I would love to forget the game just so I could experience it again, but since it's not possible, I like watching other people having those magical moments.

Great video! and as you are skilled, in this area I had already died more than 30 times 😆 I'll share some tips. One very important thing is to always keep your health full, as you are always hitting enemies and your soul fills up, and good to have full health and use soul for magic. Another is to use the magic with the button (RB), this button is only for spells and leaves the button (B) only for healing, this will help a lot later. A help that the game doesn't mention is that you can hit the button (LB) 2 times that you already enter the full map of the game without having to go to the menu. Now it's a way to improve the quality of life in the game. this is a tactic that people do but the developers know, and it has a mission that this doesn't work. they could have taken it but they leave it because they know it helps the players. lets go. The game automatically saves. Let's say you want to go somewhere just to get something that you can get with a new skill, but getting back will be time consuming. so you sit on a bench and go to the area you wanted, after doing everything, you exit the game it automatically saves and when you return you will appear on the last bench you sit on. it helps not to waste time walking to places over and over again. The soundtrack in this game is beyond incredible! Highly recommend listening to it fully on its own because many certain things get lost during gameplay!

You should be proud, you are rocking this game, Hornet can be a challenge for new players, she is faster than basically anything in the game up to that point. You figured out nail bouncing in the first few hours of playing, something some people never learn is a thing. Just keep having fun and remember Cornifer’s outlook, getting lost and finding your way is a joy like no other!

Ah, it's so fitting for you to not die once when fighting Hornet, and then die to the Thorns of Agony platforming and a random mosskin. Worth it imo, one of my favourite early game charms.

Recently started playing this. And Greenpath is my comfort place. I go there to hang out and listen to that masterpiece sound. I mean, nothing tops that.

I'm very glad you commented on the music, because they used Hornet's theme in the trailer and it immediately made me excited for this game. Also, bravo at one-try-ing Hornet! She ain't easy this early in the game, and you handled the fight with aplomb.

I love how you just sat with Quirrell in Queen's Station for a couple minutes listening to the bells and atmosphere. I did that too. Also did it in a few other places, where it was so beautiful I just had to sit and watch it for a few minutes. Joni's sanctuary where you pick up the Joni charm was like that - the blue butterflies were everywhere and there was a very slight background music, and it was just completely entrancing and charming.

One thing that I really like about this game is that the banker doesn’t make you feel guilty for withdrawing your money. There are some other games where the banker makes comments whenever you interact with them. One such example is Majora’s Mask. When you withdraw money the banker says something like “Really ? You’re withdrawing that much? What a big spender! If you keep going like that then you’re going to run out of money!” Really makes you feel guilty for doing something with your money besides just depositing it. But this banker doesn’t make any such comments or judgements and it’s really nice.

The things that I knew about this game were that is quite challenging and that A LOT of people love it to the point of getting tattoos. I love this kind of playthroughs because it's like I'm here exploring the game with you for the first time. Love the music so far, it's my favourite part well that and the interconnected world
