Mike Warper I know you jest, but simplicity and easiness are completely different concepts, and nowhere is it truer than in culinary arts, especially patisserie. Something might be very straightforward but takes ages and tremendous efforts to finish while some other things might be quite easy to make but even easier to ruin.

I recommend cooking the egg mixture in a water bath to prevent the „honey omelette“ issue: Get two pots that fit inside each other (make sure the small one has sufficient handle to keep it steady while mixing). Fill the outer pot with water until the inner one starts floating. Bring the water to temperature (after removing the inner pot). Once the water is hot, put the ingredients in the small pot, replace into the water bath and get cooking. Note: Having the layer of water between the pot limits the maximum amount of heat that can be transferred, so it prevents you from burning whatever you put in the middle pot. That being said, it will still be sufficiently hot to turn your eggs into omelette, if you are not careful. For advanced dessert technique, you can work over hot steam as well: Replace the small pot with a thin metal mixing bowl; the bowl should cover the water pot entirely. Make double-sure that the water level in the large pot does not reach the bowl, else you‘ll be repeating the same process as before.

Mayonnaise is technically not raw. There are multiple ways to “cook” things so they’re safe to eat. Heat, pH, salt, and alcohol. You can do all four with most things, but not all. Or maybe it’s that most stuff doesn’t taste good all four ways. For example: you can cure fish with salt, you can cook it with heat, and you can flash it in some vinegar (sushi). So mayonnaise is cooked with the vinegar.

What you might be referring to is the belief of Dobrovsky, a Czech author who said that all the slavic languages have developed from one language, which is actually not true. But they were all greatly influenced by latin, like most other european languages of today. It's just the fact that they're historically and culturally tied together so it makes sense that they are all similar.

Finally got around to making this myself. MEDOVIK (Russian Honey Cake) 2/3 cup sugar 1 tsp baking soda 2 1/3 cups all purpose flour 4 tbsp honey 1/2 cup butter (one stick) 2 cups sour cream 1/2 cup condensed milk 3 eggs 1/2 lb Blackberries or Strawberries Combine eggs and honey in small pot, along with butter and sugar. Simmer on low-low medium heat until butter is melted and all ingredients are combined. The mixture must be stirred at all times to avoid scorching the honey and burning the sugar. Add baking soda after ingredients have combined into a homogenous mixture. Raise temperature to medium to medium high heat just short of boiling. Mixture must be stirred at all times during this process to avoid burning the sugar and tainting the whole mix. After mix has risen by at least 50%, add in flour. stir until you have a thick, almost cookie dough consistency. If mixture is still too soupy, add more flour, slowly. Divide the dough into at least 8 equal sized dough balls. Roll dough balls out to at least a 1-2mm thick. should look like a slightly thick crepe. Place in single layer on parchment lined baking sheet. Bake at 350F for 8 minutes per layer of cake, or until golden brown. Should come out flexible, like a thick crepe or a thin dense pancake, do not lift from parchment paper. If you remove before cool, you run the risk of tearing up the bottom of the layers. Combine sour cream and condensed milk, in lieu of frosting, whisk them together for best results. Coat in between each layer with condensed milk sauce. Continue until out of layers. With a frosting paddle or the back of a butter knife, spread evenly over top and around sides. Coat top of cake and sides with crumbles made from baked and crushed cutoffs. Decorate with berries, do not add any more sweet elements such as milk or white chocolate, sauce is already sweet enough. There you go! Edited and processes explained for the common (non Boris Slav Superstar) baker.
