Not to mention the proper use would be to dismount the gun from the scooter's chassis to fire it, and firing it while it's still on the scooter was 'only to be done in an emergency.' Also, we literally have guys on E-bikes rolling up on tanks with MANPATS for real, and it's devastatingly effective that a lone infantryman can set up, fire and scoot off quickly and quietly while rendering an expensive piece of armour into junk.

Also the incendiary pigs were most commonly used to scare war elephants since once they were spooked they would often turn and stampede through their own ranks causing massive amounts of casualties and crippling morale. Pretty cool since the scent of elephants would spook Roman cavalry units horses so they lit pigs on fire to scare the elephants hahaha

I have one these darts from WW1 that my Grandad brought back. They made the shaft from a cartridge case and the point was from a cross section metal barb wire post sharpened. He had one has an edc tool for cleaning the mud from his kit. It is crudely braized together with a button from his regiment braized to the side.

I was hoping the Hellfire RX9 variant would be mentioned as a modern equivalent to the flechette. Yes its technically a non-explosive guided missile, but its still a bladed projectile designed to destroy targets from above with kinetic energy alone.

The Gustav Rail gun and it's sister gun Dora were actually useful weapons. The guns took part in the Siege of Sevastopol, attack on Leningrad, and Battle of Stalingrad. A little bit of extra history, a 3rd weapon called Langer Gustav was planned but never finished production after the Krupp plants were bombed by the RAF. It was planned to fire rocket propelled shots using V2 technology with the ability to reach London from occupied France.

Indeed. They were never meant for rapid transport and setup. The Gustav was intended specifically for use against fortified targets, like bunkers and defensive lines

@@Wyldesyde exactly. Like in Sevastopol they were able to complete destroy a munitions bunker which was underwater and protected by over 3 feet of concrete with only 3 shots. And during this salvo of shots a 4th shot which missed actually struck and sunk a navy boat

5:25 well it saw action in the war for Cascadia and proved quite useful especially in cruise misslies since the cruise missiles had self preservation capabilities drastically increasing the chances of them hitting their target. If it wasn't for Monarch

If i remember right the incendiary pig was used successfully later on in some medieval sieges, were they dug some tunnels under a castle, trapped the pigs in such tunnel after setting them on fire and the resulting blazing inferno was rather violent because the fire war rather strong due to the pig's grease

The pigeon guided missiles were code named project ORCON (organic control) and the main issue with the Davy Crockett was its use was fatal to the operators. Also not so sure about the 300 shots of the Gustav, the artillery pieces shooting across the straight of Dover in WW2 (yes, we shelled a mainly deserted part of France and the Germans did the same the other way to England) had an average use of 20-30 shots before needing to be recast.

I should point out that the bat bomb was a bit more sophisticated than that. The incendiary bombs were set on a timer. After being released, the bats would seek out places to roost...which would include the eaves and attics of buildings. When the timer ran out...well, you can guess the result.
