Making Napoleon Cake (торт Наполеон) - most complicated Soviet recipe
ingredients and instructions:
this makes a small cake for maybe two people (or one Boris)
*add 150g wheat flour into bowl
*add 60g of cold butter
*add 1/4 tsp salt
mix the butter into the flour by hand until small crumbs
*add 60ml cold water in cup
*add 1/4 tsp 30% vinegar in cup
mix the vinegar and water mix to the dough
*add 1/4 of egg into the mix
mix well
knead the dough on floured surface for 3 minutes
package dough in cling film
place into refrigerator for at least 2 hours
after 2 hours you can start making the custard
*add 375ml of milk to a pot
*add 35g of sugar to the milk
set the mix to heat, but don't let boil
*add two eggs to a bowl
*add 40g of sugar the eggs
whisk the mix until fluffy foam (see video), about 5minutes
*add 50ml milk to the mix
*add 20g wheat flour to the mix
add the eggs mix to the warm milk in the pot
*add half teaspoon of vanilla sugar
set the pot to low heat and mix constantly for 10 minutes
the mix should be smooth, without pieces
if you end up with pieces, push it through a sieve
set the custard aside
take the dough from refrigerator and split into 7 equal parts
roll out the 7 pieces of dough
use a cup to make the pieces into circle shape
set oven to 250C/480F
poke dough pieces with fork so they don't expand too much
add some extra dough to make the crust later
insert dough to oven for 5 minutes until brown
make the cake tower, layering dough and cream
add some crumbs on top and sides
DONE
eat right away or refrigerate to let cake get soft

this is wrong. 99% of ads on KZread dont pay you if no one clicks on them. And for the ads where you do get paid from just watching them; the revenue generated is so small that even 5 million views would net you less than $50.

There is nothing about this video that I do not love. It has everything! Deserts, recipe, precision, "good enough", using power tools in creative ways, the visceral frustration of a following a finicky recipe, a cat. All is good
Watching Boris has really opened me up to trying foreign foods, his energy and passion for making this food made my curiosity boil over and I can safely say it’s the best culinary choice I’ve ever made! @@irishime If youve never used such an oven before, ya cant really say anything about it. Its a Miele oven (a well known german brand) and they are just superb quality every single time. As a german who owns 2, id know. There arent many things thats more satisfying than using one of these.

It would be interesting to see you try a Keto recipe Keto basically means low carb, people on keto typically eat like 20 carbs a day, vs normal people who eat like 150-200 carbs a day

@@BJGvideos 45 Carbs is literally on the verge of breaking out of ketosis by itself, which has a limit of 50 carbs a day, but to see the full benefits of keto you generally go 20 carbs, but if that's 45 per meal then yeah, that's not keto, not even low carb.

I love how easy yet hard Slav food is to make, I’ve made so many Slavic foods and I’ve loved it, and I will say one thing, Russians and Kurds have a lot of burning national pride/love they are fairly similar and the Russians ( or the Soviet Union perhaps) was very sympathetic for the Kurds.
