Great Video, I've been slowly painting up few mechanicum units in my pile of shame and they are great models. I'm Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the other unit types in the book.
This vid just confirms my feelings about the new book. It’s tragic. Basic units nerfed, stats down, can’t use reactions which is the cool new thing. I’ve got the models so i’ll still use some in a marine force, but I don’t see myself running a full cybernetica force.
Helpful review. I'm definitely running thallax, thralls and castelax, probably more thallax for 3k. Roll on videos for the rest of the faction :)
Thanks for a great review. I've been wanting to do mechanicum but I didn't really know where to start, so this has been a big help.

Thanks! Many more videos coming this week on them so worth staying tuned!
Pretty great video! Curious to see if you’ll do a Legion-Mechanicum video covering what units and abilities work best with the Mechanicum. I’ve already tried some Bolt weapon loaded Castellax for my IF Praevian and it was just a rock all game that unloaded a terrific amount of forced saves onto my opponent all game, but I’m very curious to see what other interactions you might come across that you really like
this is a god send
I always loved Thallaxi due to just how cool they are and now they also have awesome rules. I'm currently trying to field then in every of my Iron Warriors lists just for coolness (and awesome mobility). Although taking a Forge Lord as a tax to field them is a bit redundant when you also have a Warsmith
I think Scyllax are kinda cool to have a character "be line" to score points

Good point!
I've been waiting to see if the Castellax would be good to run with a Praevian, will you come out with a video focusing on the Praevian now that the Mechanicum book is out? Keep up the great work!
Beep boop* Great vid man
Just firing up the vid. I read over Thallax the other day as I run Decima's Isstvan 3 Survivor force... ...I lost my army list, my Warlord (only Decima Invictus now), the Thallax Augments and Heavy chainblades. I got wrecked.

Missing heavy chainblades sucks. Weird for then to vanish!
With the legacy release, tech thralls can use melee weapons again. Does that make them have a better niche?
What do you think about thallax with darkfire?
Hey, I'm interested that you thought the ram attack was really good. I cannot for the life of me figure out how the ram ruled work. Any chance of you doing a video about it?
@Hearesy

It just adds extra hits to the ram. So where youd normally do d6 S7 hits, now you do D6 S7 plus D6 S10 for the Ram weapon, and its concussive 3. Quite a lot of auto hits for a 125 pt tank!

@@Hearesy yeah but could you do a video explaining how rams work as I can't make sense of the rules for normal vehicles?
I guess with bigger units of castellax you can look at the possibility of cyberthurgy buffing them up to BS5, and becoming able to perform actions
@Hearesy

Yep, of course they benefit a lot from that. But it costs you so many points to do so, that you make an already inefficient unit less efficient, and outside of cybernetica i dont think its worth the investment. Of course you do get more out of those powers with big units, but exploding onto your own units with every death… ugh.

@@Hearesy Pain! So much pain! As the owner of 6 Castellax it's a bit sad to see but I'm up for trying them out a fair bit. I think the future lies with secutors in a triaros as the grunt work unit

Thanks Bots!
You did not play Mechanicum in the old edition, hm?
Castelax were always WS 3 bud you could upgrade their BS to 5 that’s definitely been removed. Obviously WS 3 wasn’t as bad as it is in 2.0 as you’d generally still hit on 4+ Feel like I’m knit picking but the Triaros hasn’t really changed as much as you seem to think. It’s pretty much identical to HH 1st ed.

It hasnt changed but it has improved! The addition of pinning makes a big difference to its viability, as does the shock ram doing ID-level strength hits and a huge potential concussive 3. Also now it has things worth carrying which is itself quite a big deal.

@@Hearesy what things can it take now that it couldn’t before?
cumbersome not only drops you to WS 1 it also only allows you to make a single attack no matter how many you have on your profile,... this makes every weapon with this rule nearly unusable against anything but vehicles and even than it is only 50% chance to hit. it is particularly bad on the knight melee weapons {atrapos} but knights overall have gotten pretty bad especially in melee.

Wow id missed that in the cumbersome rule! What a terrible rule, might as well not even have the weapon at that point. So stupid.
