Solar Auxilia Faction Review: HQ Units

In this video, I tell you all about the Solar Auxilia Character and HQ unit options for Horus Heresy: The Age of Darkness.
I discuss building yourself a characterful and powerful Legate Marshal to command your army, as well as how to utilise the VERY well equipped Tactical Command Tercios which can shoot, melee, and act as bodyguards for your general in your games of 30k!
This is part 3 of a series covering Solar Auxilia Rules, Units, and Army Builds - like and subscribe to make sure that you don't miss the next instalment!

Great video, thank you for these breakdowns. So far, the only solar video that is missing is the heavy supports. Are you planning to do such a video any time soon to complete the series? I would highly appreciate it. Keep up the good work!

I spotted companions can also take chainswords the other day. Which I thought was interesting

I do wish there was the old option of a Legate and a Legate marshal, because having your only source of army-wide LD10 also be the only one you can spec out to be a melee threat _and_ be a 0-1 choice is no fun. Marines get Centurions to do frontline roles but SA get nothing and if he gets sniped out it's a devastating blow.

But not every army should have multiple melee powerhouse heroes; the Solar Auxilia is primarily a ranged army.

The strategy around the melee legate marshal is to not make the legate marshal your warlord. You hide a captain (warlord) off board in an arvus till t4 if you want to be super secure or in a transport if you want up to 60 companions rather than 30 companions on the field.
