A glitch happened with my Talon Merc, and I have all five things at level six. Pure bliss.

Yep! I appreciate your efforts to release all of these videos. Iv'e watched about 3/4ths of them now. This game, more than most, really benefits the player to research the mechanics because of the interaction of all the equipments, powers and numerous bugs.

The light melee is actually great for when an enemy goes stealth near you and you lose sight of him.

It'll be like playing on your PS3 again when you start with this guy. I hear there's key-binding issues attached to him. That's about as nerfed as the Cain Trip Mines will get though.

I just tried a few games with him and had a blast. The only issue is hitting f for melee when trying to move sometimes. But I think I can rebind that. Either way, I literally am like The Arrow, I just rock people without even using my shotty lol

the reason the bow attacks are blocked is not because they are projectiles, but because the phantom, praetorian, and banshee power absorbs block melee as well

Thats true but whit the talon you can put on the mêlee stunner for your normal arrows, and the power also the power magnifier, so your arrows will do more daags when you put the talon on him

awwwwww yeah been waiting for this one, its a shame (at least for PC) he resets your key bindings every time you load in but well worth it imo he's so much fun

so besides the n7 hq, there is another way, and in game, that your build can be seen by someone else?

Does the power amp go towards the bow as well as the mines?

A couple of times, you try to do an over-cover grab and fail. It's not because he doesn't have one, but that you need to hold down the melee button for a second or 2. I've done it (I'd show it, but it is hard to do, and I have no idea how to capture and upload it here). Honestly, it's just quicker to melee them with your omni-bow and AP arrows.

How do you fire your omnibow??? I can't figure out how to use it! If it's to use your melee button, that doesn't work for me for some reason on this character.

JdNtBrLrTi If you’re on PC, note that this character resets your key binding.

A couple of things. First, I asked in of your other videos why you don't bother with the 6/6/6/6/6/6 glitch, and you said because if you don't do it, you have to choose. You still make choices. Some of them are no-brainers (take this upgrade, it's essential or don't take this, it's bugged and/or completely useless), some of them are difficult (more grenades or more damage- Arc Grenades and Multi-frag grenades, along with all the Talon Merc's powers). It just allows you to grab fitness (or whatever the character's Melee/Health & Shield tree is called), without giving up a power. Second, there is a reason to take Concussive Arrows, even if you never use it. Rank 2 gives you another grenade, meaning you don't have to run to the ammo box quite so much (or use a Thermal Clip Pack). A few of questions as well. You use Cain Trip mines as more of a grenade. Would you recommend using it as a trap instead, or just save them for bombing large groups? And second, if you use the 6/6/6/6/6/6 glitch, how would you build it, grab extra grenades, or make them almost sort of useful to use? And would you take a hard-hitting sniper rifle for long range attacking as well (something like the Widow, Black Widow, or Javelin)?

+Edward Collins Grabbing fitness instead of a power, or vise versa, is a very important choice to make that defines most players. It goes against the very idea of the game to ignore it. Still if you can't make the difficult choices, CA is really only worth evolving for the grenades. Take 4b/5b/6b. You can't make them stronger than the AP arrows, they're only useful for Phantoms. Of course you can use the mines as traps if you're ever in control of the enemy. They're less effective this way, but that is what they're suppose to do. It can be a little tricky getting them to trigger however, placing them horizontally usually gets the best results. I wouldn't equip a weapon with no melee mods, though.

Variety is the spice of life though right? I share your perspective on playing each kit to it's strengths, but also in a way that makes it somehow unique. Playing the Vorcha Sentinel the same way as the soldier is just sort of tiring to me. I did get Grenade Capacity IV a while ago and began having fun with the grenade kits, so I'm all good. I just think the design of so many kits requiring that secondary series gear unlocks to really experience it was a poor choice on Bioware's part.

so you use the melee button to use the crossbow, and it doesn't eat up your inventory?

Hi and thanks again for another awesome guide. I am starting to understand the possibilities of the Talon mercenary now. There is one thing that bugs me, though: it's a pretty advanced guide and I am too noob (yes, I know, this is 2017) for it. I would have appreciated more basic tips like when to use light melee or heavy melee, and stuff about agro and survivability. You didn't equip him with anything but damage and when I do this even in Silver I get killed by 2 cannibal shots. I can't begin to understand how you survive Gold. Thanks again.

victorparent You do not want to use the light melee and the best way to survive is to kill the enemy faster. Approach enemies from the right side of cover and use the Mines when overwhelmed. What I don't say, you can see. There's more info on enemy mechanics in previous guides. I recommend the Human Engineer, Infiltrator, and N7 Shadow.

victorparent It'll change his base heavy melee damage from 300 to 800 but ultimately change the attack to the Batarian Gauntlet.

Level 4 equipment is a space filler. When you only have Ultra-Rares to unlock you'll see plenty of them.

Does Banshee's barrier block AP arrows and Cain trip mine?

The barrier blocks all power and melee damage, but it's triggered by projectile attacks. When the Banshee starts casting, you need to shoot; or alternatively you can blow her away with the Mines and Arrows before she gets the chance.

tried this guy out and the controller mod for the pc version is super broken and I cant select anything with the d-pad, its a real bummer :(

I've never played with it, it should be set as default.

Actually they will find something from my profile, as last week after i play a very laggy game, I got no xp, no money and most important, my poinst in Spectre Mastery section resets to zero... So ppl will definitely report that right? But I think ME3 customer support is literally not existing anymore and there is no ban wave either.

Hmm ... did i recognize that correctly? You fire a lots of cain trick mines at a rapidly rate. Well as far as i know there can only be three trick mines at once in game. If you fire a fourth one the first will just disapear. And they need some seconds to be ready. So if you fire more than three very rapidly don't you waste a lot of mines for nothing? Or do you mention that/an explenation later in gameplay? I just wonder and havn't watched the whole video.

So many kits that just suck until you get decent Grenade capacity + thermal clip pack carry capacity.

I broke this character once on accident. Although the Concussion Arrows are good against peons, but I was constantly using armor piercing anyway. They Concussion Arrows are indeed sweet against Phantoms. I HATE PHANTOMS!

That's all the Concussive Arrows are good for really. The Armour-Piercing Arrows will do more damage to everything else.

I tried him yesterday for the first time, with the same build setting, and it seems he's nowhere near as strong as he is on this guide. Omni-Bow damage was so lame I nearly laughed. He now needs two strikes to bring down a mere Husk, and that's in... SILVER difficulty !! While the recharge time has been improved (around 29 secs, with the same build setting), he's not the powerhouse he was back then. And the over cover grab doesn't work as well, as you stated in your in-game description. Talk about a disappointment... Once a glass cannon, he's now a glass slingshot...

Adnane Rabah The only other thing I can imagine causing such damage loss is a poor connection to the host. Lag kills the Omni-bow. Try hosting a Talon game yourself.

*****​ I do host every game I play after I witnessed first-hand the gap in fluidity when playing Drell Adept, Asari Valkyrie/N7 Fury, and especially N7 Slayer. But wait a second... What do you mean by heavy melee ? Are you saying that I must maintain melee button to shoot stronger arrows ? Because I only tapped button so far, and I didn't know that he can shoot stronger when pressing longer. In fact, it didn't occur to me to think about that, and you said he doesn't have a heavy melee move, so I definitely couldn't imagine that... Well, it seems there is no problem with him after all, which is only logical as everyone else work fine. I'll try him another time, in heavy melee mode, and I'll let you know. Thanks

Adnane Rabah If you tap melee, the arrows will spread. If you hold melee, the arrows are concentrated. It takes a fraction of a second to target the arrows and makes a world of difference. The video goes into more detail.

Wojciech Krawczyk Melee mods, unlike all others, multiply your damage. In special cases like Shadow Strike and Armor-Piercing Arrows, they will multiple the melee AND power damage of the attack. This makes the Shotgun Omni-Blade the best mod for the character.

Wojciech Krawczyk The headshot bonus is effective but nearly all shotguns suffer very little, if at all, shieldgate; plus many are stronger and can pierce (the Wraith for example). If you're looking to stagger enemies reliably, the GPS and Venom are superior.
