    Thanks, I'm glad you see that. My goal with these video has been to get that point across. I know this game gets old, very quickly without injecting some variety yourself. Problem is, it's very easy to overlook how to do that. That's where I figured I'd step in and make my mark.

    Rusted Cage I don't understand how people can get excited about new characters if you're just going to play them all the same. There's a lot of fun to be had if you use everything the game gives you.

    unique build. the hurricane chews armor so fast and its light weight... have you tried using the hurricane instead of the piranha? were u after the piranha's shotgun close range damage bonuses? or do u simply think shotguns have better synergy with the biotic sphere?

    It's been a long while (such a long while that I don't know if you even REMEMBER much about ME3), but I was going back over these vids, and I have a question. You recommend wither a Biotic Sphere/Pull build or a Reave/Pull build. What about either a Biotic Sphere/Reave build (either no points in Pull, or skip the last rank of Fitness or the passive for 3 points into Pull) or a Biotic Sphere/Reave/Pull build that sacrifices the last 3 points of Fitness?

    I wonder if the (Duration and Combo) from pull affects targets that are not pulled at all but for instance primed by sphere and detonated by reave. Without ever using pull.

    Eduardo Marchant You don't get a power's bonus without using the power. Pull definitely has to be a part of the biotic combo to make it 1.75x stronger, however enemies don't need to be lifted to feel it. More info is in the Dell Vanguard guide.

    The justicar having the stronger reave being said, would the drell adept or drell vanguard benefit more from this fun pull build? The reave-cluster grenade combo is hard to give up, but why would a vanguard not charge a pulled target? Or do you still recommend speccing out of the strongest reave in the game?

  • @Bwnci

    @Bwnci

    If you want to do the most damage with Reave, I'd stick with the Drell. The Justicar's may be stronger but the Drell puts it to better use. As far as using Pull for DOT though, the Drell Vanguard is another excellent choice. Doing the unthinkable and skipping Cluster Grenade, will produce a kit with a far more damaging Pull that only gets stronger when he Charges. I recommend BC of CG for that reason, and because it's important a Drell has his method of survival. Charge can still be used to effectively down bosses because it will detonate the Incendiary Rounds, however this is where the Justicar has the advantage, because her detonator will also debuff armour. As I said in the video though, you can still use Reave on a Pull build. If you take "Expose" at the 5th rank you can shift the build from DOT to Power Combos. Since your blowing up your targets you don't need Incendiary Rounds for added DOT. Just take Warp Rounds, so that against bosses you can just Reave them and gun them down. A viable strategy for both the Justicar and Drell Adept.

    Two things. First, can Biotic Sphere detonate multiple biotic explosions? I was fighting a Scion and cast Reave, then Biotic Sphere, then more Reaves. And it seemed that every Reave caused a biotic explosion. I was running with a biotic team, and maybe I was detonating the other guys primers, but I really think they were on the other side of Rio fighting other things. Second, does Reave also work with the Incendiary Round glitch (where Incendiary rounds absorb other DOTs)?

    +Edward Collins Biotic Sphere can only detonate one combo, but it's bugged like Lash, and chains biotics. This is most likely because they have separate prime and detonate effects. Reave doesn't interact with Incendiary Rounds at all, though. To learn what powers do, see my Human Sentinel guide.

    Whilst I think more unique and interesting builds are cool, I would have suggested you have the most efficient and powerful build in this series and have a sub-series of quirky builds that can be fun to play.

    Dominic Naylor I argue that a series that shows you how to make use of every element of the game, is better for it. A simple "stun and gun" strategy works for almost everyone and is ultimately the most efficient outside of any exploitation of the games mechanics.

    You really didn't use biotic sphere that much. Like...barely. When you did, rarely was it in conjunction with pull to actually explode anything. I'm sure it's fun in design, but it seems like a waste of a power. Reave and sphere is still better. Also, defensive bubble becomes far more useful on higher difficulties - especially combined with defensive reave. Running to an area to set up a bubble becomes suicide. Plus, enemies learn to avoid it. And on bigger maps, just forget bubble entirely. Defensively, (which is how people play when shit gets hard) bubble becomes insanely good. Spec her for the fastest shield recharge rate and she's insane. Her shield gate is probably best in the game because of it. Fun build maybe. But I don't think I'd enjoy it more than reave build.

    lightsnow123 The Sphere is best used against bosses and Cerberus only has one. Besides creating a spectacle, the only reason to Sphere a Pulled target is when there are multiple. Still the game's design doesn't really favour defensive tactics; they exist, more because they are popular. They are certainly that, more than they helpful in dealing with increasing numbers of enemies quickly, like the game asks.

    Bwnci That's why loadout is super popular. Honestly though, it's super map based with biotic sphere. Smaller maps are easier for damage, larger is better with defensive. Playing defensively is great on specific maps and others require you to move while keeping range. I still dislike the play style behind offensive sphere (and don't get me wrong, I *really* want to love it), but I find it incredibly hard to actually get any kind of detonation off. Instead of using it offensively, enemies go down faster with a good gun than positioning of offensive sphere. But, that's just my play style.

    lightsnow123 How you use cover, decides a lot. Soft-cover keeps offensive play fluid and alive. You don't have to go around the corner to get the Sphere to. While kiting, try to find and hold choke points. If you need a gun to do damage on every character, you're missing the point of some characters.

  • @lightsnow123

    @lightsnow123

    Choke points, yes, but some enemies are just too dangerous up close and remaining in one spot is not good to do. However, alternating between two (maybe three) spots of cover while controlling spawn points is best. Not getting close to enemies is also best. I didn't say needing a gun is the only way to do damage. It's one of the better ways (for instance a scorpion destroys phantoms and abilities aren't that good against them). It's more about the combination of abilities and guns. Relying on just one is not a good method. Specifically, in my example I was referring to biotic bubble being weak. It is. The dot is negligible. It's just for priming (which can only occur on three enemies) and it's not detonated individually. I also find that it's not as fast to register. The biotic bubble is great for parts of noveria. It's awful for earth dlc maps. I just find that the mediocre payout of offensive bubble is not worth it for a reliably good payout of defensive + defensive reave. At this point though, we'll just have to agree to disagree. Different playstyles for different people.

    lightsnow123 There are several instances where powers and weapons work individually. Identifying them all provides a lot more variety. To say powers don't work against Phantoms as well as weapons is woefully misguided, especially since Pull is such a fine example. Besides, there are no enemies too dangerous for close combat. The most powerful are usually the most slow. Only out in the open are you truly at a loss against them. Moving to various cover and choke points is exactly how you "kite" an enemy, and getting close can sometimes be the best thing you can do. After all, it's not the Sphere's DOT that makes it a great offensive power.
