Maximum Downforce at Gridlife Road America!! Time Attack Toyota Supra A90 - Project TA90 #49

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

After a last-attempt heartbreak at last year's RA where the win slip through our finger tips, Alex & I, and all our new PhD Racing friends, returned to Road America for a chance at redemption. The goal was simple: to be the first Gridlife StreetModified car to dip below the 2:20 barrier. Turns out, we did a hell lot better than that.
Just for context. In 2019, we brought the stock-ish TA90 V1 to RA, and on tires, brakes, and wheels upgrades, we did a 2:30.7. Going Sub-20 is absurd.

Watching you go after it has been very enjoyable and has given me a boost of motivation to keep chipping away on my TA car. You will need some more power next season to cart around your gigantic balls! This is my favourite TA related content on YT hands down, I really enjoy the honesty, insight, and the quality of the production itself. Amazing drive Jackie, congrats! All laps were so much fun to watch, specially the last ones. Car looks so much fun to drive, well done setting it up. At 24:47 on the video, to me the car felt a little down on power climbing the hill, compared to other laps (even the previous one, when you had the double shift). The time delta disappeared fast after the climb too, I think you lost the best lap at that moment (3 tenths?). Maybe check for anything out of the ordinary on the data logs.

    A little curious about your occasional reaching for the center console. Is that just a habit that's continuing to carry over from so many years with the S2000's manual gearbox? Or is there something over there that you're selecting? That one point of curiosity aside, congratulations, mate! Well done! Awesome to see all the hard work continuing to show through. It's so cool to see someone in an actually fast car after having done a track day here in my basically completely stock fiesta ST, which is a terrible car for RA lol. You're doing like 20-25mph faster through the carousel than me with the fiesta starting to 4 wheel slide. Even my buddy in his focus RS and some corvettes weren't going any faster through the carousel! Wish I could feel the G forces hitting it at the speeds you were. Must be a blast!

    That was awesome! Now that you have the TA90 perfected, how are you going to improve it? The short list of things that I can think of to improve the TA90 are as follows: 1) Fix the Charge Pipe Problem. (V-band maybe?) 2) Ruin the cars balance by adding more power. 3) Restore balance by tuning in a bit more downforce because you have the power to over come it from (2). 4) Go win more races, and break the car so that you can find new ways to improve it. How'd I do on listing the ways to make the best car better?

  • @sheasamuels9320

    @sheasamuels9320
