Damp Track Domination! Time Attack Toyota Supra A90 Gridlife Road America (Wet) - Project TA90 #50

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

While most of our competitors elected to sit out the cold and slippery Road America TA session come Sunday Morning, the Supra and I lined up first on the grid to get some more seat time in the wet/damp conditions. I still maintain that driving in the rain/wet is a crucially important skill that is often overlooked, so I'd always like to practice mine whenever possible. I implore you to do the same :)

Toyota needs to release a more track focused version of the Supra and call it 'The Jackie Ding Edition'. That would be epic! I've been watching your videos for a few years now, and great job on everything that you and Alex have accomplished.

I don't really like the last gen Supra. Looks like a FT1 mock-up to me. But finally, this car is growing on me thanks to your videos. Seems to be an awesome plateform for trackdays. The soundtrack of yours is addictive! Awesome skill under wet condition. Always a pleasure to watch you ripping the track. Thanks for sharing your racing journey Jackie 😉

Love your channel Jackie. Any chance that you would give Billy Johnson (of "OneLapBilly") a shot at your car? It may be instructive to you how another professional driver approaches a one lap event in your Supra A90... Given your success in Time Attack, he might be interested especially as your car is pretty well sorted out now :)

First: "2:43.4 final flyer! About 10 sec faster than fitst(first) lap!" Next: "Finished 12 seconds ahead of P2 overall, while 3rd didn't break 3 min..." Conclusion: This could have been a 1 and Done with a 1-2 second lead on second place... Wow!

I'm not sure that many(if any) could tell when you took a cool down lap without looking at the lap times. Your cool down lap would have yielded you second place over all on it's own based on what the text at the end.

Yea a Motec would help a lot in terms of lap speed yes. That said, doing a Motec ECU means we need custom trans control unit, diff control unit, the entire steering + braking system has gotta get changed, etc etc etc. Everything on the car is connected so unless we build an all-out race car with none of the factory electronics, we can't really implement a Motec ECU

@@JackieDing86 there is people who has done it .. the Traction control strategy world by cutting power , ( less timing ) or Boost .. it has nothing to do whit the gearbox of the car , there is trans control unit to make it work ,

@@alexsevo6 I don’t think you understand what I’m referring to. Doing it on older cars where the ECU only cares about what the engine is doing, is very different from doing the same on a newer car where the entire car communicates with every system on the car via CANBUS. You get rid of the factory ECU and implement the Motec and then the engine will run, great, but everything else will be missing the engine’s output readings in the canbus stream and all go on strike as well. So it’s not as simple as just plug and play
