The original pot with the repotted plant still looks pretty full, there are so many plants! It's great to see a difficult repot because that's usually how it is by the time I get around to it! I bought a maxillaria tenuifolia last year, hasn't bloomed yet but I definitely plan to get a variabilis. It's funny when you have a plant that's filled its pot so much. I have a really old snake plant like that and when I pulled this massive thing out of its pot, it was like, where did the soil go? There was hardly any in there! So weird! Great video, Bill! Don't forget to update us about those little guys, especially. I like those pots with the domes, too.

I really like this video. It’s really nice to see a grower actually work with plants and do repots like you have in this video. Thanks for sharing.

You did a great job Bill😌🙏💖You gently pulled away the old roots, planted it in a good medium and your Maxillaria is healthy too. I'm also trying to grow my Maxillaria from cuttings, but they don't look so good HAAA!😅🙌

Hi Bill, what a beauty she is, and I bet she's happier already in new media and with more room to grow. I have several genera of orchids and grow in sphagnum moss with bark and perlite, some in all bark and quite a few in Leca/Pon mix in self-watering pots. Love the Leca/Pon mix, much easier to care for and not have to worry about over watering. Please keep us updated on the progress.

I would love to know more about your leca/pon mix. Is it half and half?

I feel your pain with the bugs. I have been dealing with them as well. Takes the joy out of growing orchids . I am going to try a sulphur vaporizer. Fingers crossed. How did you get rid of your bugs?
