Plant Lovers! My FIRST Maxillaria to bloom and I'm VERY happy! This gorgeous and unassuming plant is very easy and undemanding so let's have a look at my basic care for this happy wee orchid!

You mentioned it is a “clump grower” so that makes it quite different than the tenulfolia which grows upwards on the spikes of the leaves. So, does it have a rhizome?

Thanks for watching - yes, very different growing habit. It produces new growths from the base of last years new bulbs etc etc very like some Coelogyne's growth patterns. The bulbs are round with two leaves.

I think porphyristele comes from greek and it means the one that has the column purple....anyway your plante is perfect. Thank you for the explanations
