Re: Matt, he's the first NZ Strongman to make it to a WSM final Colm didn't (despite being very talented) way back there was a guy Levi Vaoga he was good but never made it to a WSM Final as a New Zealander I wish Matt all the best.

Big fan here from NZ - technically Alan Hallberg was the first New Zealander in a Worlds Strongest Man final, when in 1983 believe it or not WSM was in Christchurch, NZ. Of course in the modern era with the group phases Matt is the first. Multiple NZ strongest man in the late 80’s era Colin Cox from Napier competed in the WSM heats at least one year as did Levi Vaoga (of Mitre Ten Mega “big is good” fame) in later years but neither made it to the finals. Let’s hope Matt keeps improving, stays healthy and one day we might have a kiwi as Worlds Strongest Man

I really like the guy, he was very impressive last year

Would love to see him do well and raise the profile of the sport in NZ

Mitch and Tom are definitely the main contenders but I can see Matt slipping past if he gets real lucky and they're both off on the day Personally I doubt it'll happen but he's definitely my favourite for that third position on the podium

I hope after this year wsm, he is invited to all the big comps like rogue, shaw and arnold. Hes strong enough already.

only Man I can see pushing thor to lift more and shake up the deadlift event, everyone wants to see Thor lifting above 501kg but He is super comfortable with other competitors not being able to go pass 440kg kinda of shame

Lots of the strongmen aren't as prominent on social media promotion- which is understandable, they're athletes not marketers. Maybe something to think about as a wider Loz merch platform if the athletes would like?

Why is there no promotional effort of strongman in Asia

When are they going to release the groups for world and when are you guys going to release your predictions? I’m very curious.

They only release groups when everyone has arrived and is cleared to compete. So 1 or 2 days before comps starts. So next Monday or tuesday
