I hope he sticks around in commentary. He's articulate, knowledgeable, and passionate about the sport

Agreed, I was a big fan of his cameo during the Arnolds. My dad was watching with me (not a regular fan of this sport) and was surprised to find out that Rob was a Strongman competitor, not a commentator.

That short bit at Arnold’s was probably some of the best commentary i’ve heard in strongman.

There should be a rotation of former Strongmen to provide color commentary. Uncle Loz, Brian Shaw, Rob Kearney should be on that list, plus Luke Stoltman when he finally retires because his Scottish accent adds another level of authenticity.

He was very good, if it wasn't for him and Jerry the commentary would have been unlistenable.
Loz and Rob need to do commentary together.

I think they did for a small segment at the Arnold's or rogue another year
It was always awesome to see Rob’s interactions in the behind the scenes. I hope he stays active in the community.

Oh he's active in the community alright
I will miss that DL hitch 😢 A really accomplished athlete - one of my favourites. Praying Rob remains somewhere in the sport as his commentary @ Arnolds was a delight.
I hope he makes the final for his last comp
One of the most underrated strongmen out there, and a class act.
I met Rob at the first Rogue invitational, and he is such a genuine nice guy. Really hope the best for this guy this year at WSM, and in his retirement from strongman
Aww man, I'm gonna miss him. Hope we'll see him being involved in the strongman world going forward.
Very sad to hear rob is leaving. Always love watching him

Absolutely love Rob, he was a huge factor in helping me get more into Strongman, and it saddens me to hear that he's retiring after World's this year. I hope he sticks around in the sport, at least, in some capacity!

He'd make a great commentator for WSM or the Shaw Classic.
Going to be sad to see him retire but Kearney has always had such a positive attitude and I love hearing him commentate. Loz and Kearney ultimate announce team.
I thought Rob was fantastic when he did commentary at Arnolds this year. He would be a great addition to our livestreams!
Rob is pound for pound one of the strongest! Best wishes Rob!
What a lovely bloke Rob is, no ego, just confidence and insight. 😊
Can't ask for a better ambassador for the sport than Rob. Such a great dude.
Always liked Rob Kearney. He was an exciting athlete to watch. Will miss him.
Rob needs to do commentary! He’s one of my favorites! He was so close to winning the Arnold’s!
So brave of Rob, a pioneer coming out as *short* in Strongman ;-)
I always loved watching Rob compete. Such a great person!
I liked him on commentary at the Arnold. Hopefully he sticks around to do that.
Sad to see him go but happy he is not only staying involved, but going out in style at the biggest show of the year! Rob was such a great Strongman. Will always remember how happy I was for him after day 1 of the Arnolds when he was in 1st place. As Loz likes to say, given the right events, anyone can win.
Love listening to Rob , such an articulate, intelligent and genuine guy !!!
First off Loz - I really enjoy these 1 on 1 conversations. Rob has always been one of my favorite strongmen. I get why he is retiring, but it is still sad to hear. looking forward to Rob throwing wrenches into the works at WSM!
Always exciting watching this legend do squat and overhead events. Hopefully we still see alot of rob on the strong man scene either coaching and or on the announcing side of things
Rob's great. Articulate and intelligent.... he makes for a great commentator.
As a stronger than average normal guy with stubby fingers, I empathize with Rob and find great inspiration watching him. He will be missed
Love you, Rob! You’ll be missed, but at the same time, I’m happy you won’t be tearing up your body for our entertainment anymore. Looking forward to seeing you on commentary.
It shows that to be a successful strongman is more than how heavy you can lift !, and the luck of the event list and group competitor's can ruin your competition even when you have 2 or 3 great events. But Rob has been great for the myth that you need to be a giant with a power belly to succeed. Great bloke and always been polite and engaging when spoken to.
Rob and Loz commentating together would be awesome. Good luck at worlds Rob
love watching rob compete. sad to see him retire, but completely understand his reasoning
More interesting insights!! Thanks for the high quality interviews!
Rob is a Great guy, i enjoyed him commenting Arnold Classic recently. I wish him all the best and hope to see him commenting coming events. God Luck in WSM!

He and Loz together are great. So much insight, but different personalities, voices.
I'm a big fan of rob wish him all the best. Too see him battle so much adversity and maintain such a positive outlook is really inspiring
I hope he does so well he has to do another year… Kind of like my golf game. Just before I throw my clubs in the pond I hit a shot that keeps me playing. Hit the shot Rob!
Love Rob. Really hope he breaks into the final this year and goes out on a high. Definitely need to get him into the mix on commentary. Rob and Loz would make an incredible duo.
Uncle Loz always has the best interviews!!! 💪🏽
Love watching Rob compete, but I think I’d enjoy him as a commentator even more. Best of luck Rob!
Rob Kearney has been my favorite athlete almost since the moment I learned his name. No one his size has any business being that strong, period. We hail from the same country (which needs all the heroes it can get right about now). He's a huge inspiration and advocate for LGBT people in the sport. He's funny as f*ck. His fashion sense is both awesome and terrifying to behold. And of course, he's so humble and graceful under pressure you might as well call him Big Loz. A lot of people in these comments have expressed hope that he stays involved with the sport. I doubt they have anything to worry about. Keep kicking ass, Rob.
Glad I got to see Rob compete at GL, such a cool dude 🌈 will cheer him on at his final world’s 🥺 His commentary at the Arnold’s was so good 🙌🏻 look forward to more
Great interview Loz !! Love Rob !! Brings his colour to the shows !! Wish him all the best on his final WSM ❤
Really pulling for Rob to make the final and i really appreciate him voicing his fears around the stone off. They should put Rauno and all the other great stone lifters in Tom's group. See if Tom wants to still aim for a casual third place and count on winning the stone off then 😂 Also definitely hope Rob stays on and does commentary regularly. He's very articulate and knowledgeable and he was great at the arnold recently. We need more people like him and fewer random broadcasters who know nothing beyond the most superficial elements of the sport.
Had the opportunity to meet Rob in Columbus at the Arnold this year. Super laid-back and kind guy, and one hell of a strongman! Hope he performs well and more importantly stays healthy this year at WSM!
Had the pleasure of meeting Rob & Joey at the Arnold's this year. Both were awesome guys and I wish them nothing but the best! Hopefully they'll make an appearance at the Strongest Man on Earth, even if it's just to present
I really hope Rob makes the final. Class act, good for the sport. After he retires from active competition, he would be an asset for color commentating on American shows like the Rogue...
Great interview! Hopefully Rob gets a manageable group and he can make it to the finals this year.
Sad to hear Rob is retiring but great for him to announce it on the Premier Strongman channel Big Liz Official!! Hope we get Rob and Loz commentating together soon 💪💙💪
It's interesting listening to strongmen speak compared to athlete's in almost any other discipline. They are some of the most articulate and knowledgeable overall, I really enjoy listening to their discussions.
Great chat with Rob 💪💪💪
Good luck Rob! Always enjoyed watching you perform. I think we all did 💪
So much time for Rob. He is an absolute pleasure to listen to. Will miss him, his positivity and his leggings 😂
How can you not love Rob! Best of luck mate in your life.
The Commentary dream team is Rob and Loz. We've seen both of them with a bunch of other people over the years, but I don't think anyone watched Rob at the Rogue and didn't want to see him behind the table with Loz.
Oh no will miss Rob Kearney if not there. Rob is so much fun will worth watching Rob.
Great interview. What a class act.
Great dude, and great athlete. Hopefully he stays involved in the sport.
Really Love Rob and very much hope he sticks around! Loz & Rob Commentary is exciting!!
Rob needs to be on the mic at the Rogue Invitational. He's knowledgeable about both Crossfit and Strongman.
Damn it Rob
Rob is awesome. One of my favourite guys.
Good luck Rob!
Rob is already great on commentary. Seeing him transition to that full time seems like a great/natural choice.
One of my favourites, gutted Rob is retiring 😢
Please please do the Shaw Classic so we can come see you. This sport needs you, you magnificent unicorn!
To add to Rob's point about lateral oblique strength being key for both yoke carry and stone grip carry: there seems to be considerable overlap between being good at yoke and good at stone carry. For example Oskar Ziolkowski struggles with both, while Hooper or Singleton do great on both.
Rob sounds pretty confident for this year's worlds. Let's hope he can make the finals 💪🦄
Rob reminds me of a friend who really enjoyed watching Magnus ver Magnuson due to his being smaller than most top competitors!
I wish Rob all the best. Seems like a well thought through desision to retire. I hope, he gets a fantastic WSM to round of his career as an active strongman. 👍💪👍☀️☀️
Rob is retiring from Strongman to resume his rightful place as "king of the Gnomes"
This came as a suprise
He seems at the topmof his game maybe that is the time to retire rather than get injured and performance drop of you know you know
Can't wait to see him make the finals!
Best of luck Rob on your first retirement
Robs a great guy! Hoping he smashes it his last worlds!
That beard makes Rob look like the worlds largest and chillest gnome that's a cool guy to hang around and have some beers with at a backyard BBQ
He needs to do commentary, he was SO good at the Arnolds...
Awww man I was hoping he was gonna be in Birmingham. Super cool guy to meet
It's sad that Rob never got the notoriety he deserves. It can't be understated how unbelievably impressive it is that he made it to such a high level at his size compared to the Giants he was competing with
I've ways enjoyed seeing Rob in competitions, as one of the smaller guys he's always outperformed what people would expect, will be sad to see him step away.
Rob is such a nice guy!
I love Rob. Wishing him all the best for whatever he has planned for the future. He’ll be a huge miss. He MUST go into commentating. ❤
Kearney has been my favorite strongman to watch during his professional career. Such a great ambassador for the sport. Best wishes on this next phase for him and look forward to more of his commentary in the future!
The heartbreak at realising it’s a 200kg final stone in the stone-off.
Good.
You two commentating would literally be awesome id pay to hear that😂😂
Gonna miss those olympic style overhead lifts
You will be missed Rob
Petition for Rob to commentate OSG !!
WSM might get fully sadistic now and put him in a group with Mitch and Evan, just to see that battle on the car walk. 😂
God i hope Rob can do commentary on rogue streams then since they dont seem to want to book Loz.
Laurence Shahlaei Sir plz enter in masters strongman want to see masters world strongman winner
The 1k like is mine!
32:40 Rob informs Loz he is coming for his job
Going to miss watching Rob compete.
Give em hell Rob!

No dude you can't im finally getting people I know to watch you. They all thought you were just a token gay guy until I showed them that you are a legit strongman who punches way above his weight with the most exciting deadlift next to Thor and Eddie. That sucks you were one of my favs.
👍
I'll miss the Dennis Rodman of WSM.

It does bug me that World's will sometimes stack groups with similar athletes. I get why they do it but it really doesn't ultimately elevate the competition as a whole.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Unless he’s going to be on the mic! THAT would be awesome!
