Agreed, I was a big fan of his cameo during the Arnolds. My dad was watching with me (not a regular fan of this sport) and was surprised to find out that Rob was a Strongman competitor, not a commentator.

There should be a rotation of former Strongmen to provide color commentary. Uncle Loz, Brian Shaw, Rob Kearney should be on that list, plus Luke Stoltman when he finally retires because his Scottish accent adds another level of authenticity.

It shows that to be a successful strongman is more than how heavy you can lift !, and the luck of the event list and group competitor's can ruin your competition even when you have 2 or 3 great events. But Rob has been great for the myth that you need to be a giant with a power belly to succeed. Great bloke and always been polite and engaging when spoken to.

Rob Kearney has been my favorite athlete almost since the moment I learned his name. No one his size has any business being that strong, period. We hail from the same country (which needs all the heroes it can get right about now). He's a huge inspiration and advocate for LGBT people in the sport. He's funny as f*ck. His fashion sense is both awesome and terrifying to behold. And of course, he's so humble and graceful under pressure you might as well call him Big Loz. A lot of people in these comments have expressed hope that he stays involved with the sport. I doubt they have anything to worry about. Keep kicking ass, Rob.

Really pulling for Rob to make the final and i really appreciate him voicing his fears around the stone off. They should put Rauno and all the other great stone lifters in Tom's group. See if Tom wants to still aim for a casual third place and count on winning the stone off then 😂 Also definitely hope Rob stays on and does commentary regularly. He's very articulate and knowledgeable and he was great at the arnold recently. We need more people like him and fewer random broadcasters who know nothing beyond the most superficial elements of the sport.

To add to Rob's point about lateral oblique strength being key for both yoke carry and stone grip carry: there seems to be considerable overlap between being good at yoke and good at stone carry. For example Oskar Ziolkowski struggles with both, while Hooper or Singleton do great on both.
