Whenever somebody asks me who the greatest pure voice is of all time I say Martina Mcbride. I get that she was big but I don't understand how she wasn't bigger. She really needs to be recognized as one of the all time best. Her voice just cuts right down to your soul.

Saw her 30 years ago opening for Garth Brooks in Europe. (We were in the Army not rich tourists!) But she still has it. That voice is angelic.

No gimmicks, no crude gyrations, no absurd dancers surrounding her, just a beautiful lady, beautifully and tastefully dressed, and with the most wonderful voice.

Yes the golden age of the CMT & TNN Networks as well which Martina was a big part of with her music and videos . Some are to this day timeless . My wife and I have been lucky enough to see Martina four times live over the span of her amazing career . I remember Martina saying when young she worked at her home town Dairy Queen without a " back up plan " as she put it . Singing was her passion . Thank you Martina for chasing your dream .

I’m nearly 70...seen many thousands of KZread performances...but, never have I seen a human being use virtually every muscle in their body to entertain others. She uses everything from her eyes to inflictions of her voice to fray you into the song...which is in itself powerful. Doubt this can be repeated by others.

I think one of the amazing challenges that Martina’s producers faced was trying to capture the voice that we hear live on stage. Once in a generation voices! Her songs are so passionate about so much! Will there ever be another Martina? I wish she’d do a duets album and a gospel album.

What a powerful awesome performance! Martina McBride rocks! That strong clear voice, such range, and it doesn't crack. Classy and beautiful, complete coverage with a beautiful outfit and proves sexy doesn't mean needing to have it falling out. A lot of other female performers could take some lessons from her in all areas of performing! That's called rocking the house!

You know she felt like the GOAT when that key change started keyy changing

she has a cracking set of pipes on her! so soothing and powerful at the same time.

Amazingly powerful voice. She owns that stage

Somebody drop the mic..... these female country singers today can only wish they had pipes like hers...

Fast forward 20 years and I'm so glad country music purists aren't dominating the discussion about Martina's legacy, because in the late '90s/early '00s, there was plenty of talk that she was one of those female "pop" acts who was supposedly only nominally country. They couldn't slam her too much, though, because of the sheer brilliance of her voice.
