I am crying because I wish all of you could have experienced what felt with late husband. Married 42yrs before he died in his sleep. It's a marriage of unspeakable joy. My mom was beaten in front of us when daddy would drink. One night he shot inches above her head while she slept. I started praying for a husband that night at 16 yrs old and told God what I wanted in the man I Married. I met him in 1977, Married in 1978, had our first child in 1979. We had two, and 4 grandchildren. He live to see all the grands graduates except 1. He was an awesome father husband grandfather. I pray that women who don't find that special person never let any man abuse them mentally and physically. No man is worth ripping your body and heart to shreds. We are built to take care of ourselves.

My parents were married over 30 years but it was an awful relationship much like this song. They never were strong enough to seperate but both ended up with bad health and died 3 years apart. I'm only 25 and miss them so much but I really hope she is flying wherever she wants now. I remember hearing her softly sing this song as a child which breaks my heart thinking back. I put just a dash of my father's ashes with her to honor their years together but hope it's just enough for her to do whatever she wants in heaven. I swore from a young age I'd never tolerate what she did for even a second.

I know what you mean my dad Left us when I was just 4,5 I last of 4children but have talked with my older brother every two weeks or so much more lately because he Up in age now they live out of town a phone call good for me, but My Mom stay married but live in Apt but I was allowed to go over to my dad place but he live with another woman I put that a side he was my father and learned to live with me but growing up with a broken 💔 because I blame myself because we as siblings use to play joke's on both of them but as younger one they always hey Kim come her can you're help us do this said for what you're know how Peggy has pictures on her wall yeah if you could help us out put this on the ceiling and ok it was Spanish women in red dress dancing in it ,then couple days laters I come home from school my dad either be home from work I thought that he wasn't home so I went through rest of the day until when I went to the bedroom and Pop my Head in the door and said dad I want to say goodnight 😮😮looked in nothing was their 😭😭😭😭😭 I was was I had respect for both parents I didn't take any side of their problems but as then My Dad done a lot even know he wasn't home with us I heartbreaking definitely and I noticed something about all the problems growing up it wasn't my dad either it was my mom more after he was caught out with another woman as I told my dad if you're ever married another woman you're Will lose me for ever I will never except her as my mother because their is only one mother and it's you're own and I told my mom same thing goes with her

I got out when I was 48, now 73 been flying high ever since it wasn't easy. But I have bought my own house, furnished it the way I want & I have bever alliwed another man in my life. I am happy, have loving & supportive friends, love the life I have built & regret nothing. I won cause I didn't let him destroy me.

I have made a great life in the past ten years with my two sons and grandchildren and my friends who have stood by me and helped me through. My son, he watches me. He wonders where his dad was bad. I wish it was easy. The simplest form is: I loved a HOLLOW MAN: a person that NEVER existed! A person that stole money from his in-laws! A gross, fat, hairy backed nobody, who pretended to care but lacks the ability to feel. Your mum leaving you out at 4 months, to "cry it out." She admits to 4 months, but we all know she left you out to hunger at a much younger age. You love it when it benefits you. You are completely known by me. The thing is, I wish that I had never met you. This is true. They see you and yours clearer everyday. I loved that hollow man, but he never and doesn't exist.

Her vocals are in a league of their own.

I think that Martina has possibly the most strongest voice of every female country singer alive. She always sings at full 100% power in all of the songs she sings and can always bring me to tears especially when she does Concrete Angel, Broken Wing, Independence Day, and God's Will.

I was just a kid in like middle school, and I remember this song so vividly. In fact, the whole album. My mom used to be a manager at a Pizza Hut, and they had a jukebox. At night when it closed, I would play Martina's songs and sing and jam out while cleaning the dining room or folding silverware. It's crazy... something so simple can have such a profound feeling when you think back about it. Such a phenomenal talent.

mom struggled the rest of her life which was cut short from the 15 years she spent with him and then to end up with another one maybe worse than the other one. My heart hurts for her

I've always liked Martina's voice....she really has a generational talent in her singing.

Having grown up seeing my mother go through so much abuse, this song really hits me hard. I swear that last note sends chills down my spine, it's impossible not to tear up from the sheer power and beauty of her voice

Sang this song as a young innocent and grew up and made it my life. Hoping to leave them curtains blowing in the breeze someday. ❤️

Martina has an amazing voice. Love her and love her songs...they all have meaning behind them and you can tell she sings them from her heart.

I finally left a 27 year marriage. It took along time to leave but I found my chance. And thank you Lord life is so much better
