Honestly with the actually good stuff like the bathmats, the manufacturers would have been better off approaching Mark about licensing it so they can make it legitimately with permission, and a percentage of profits goes to Mark (or a charity of his choosing). If I were the company behind those mats and was watching this video, that'd be what I'd suggest as a settlement.

I really, seriously have a feeling that the design on that first Unus Annus hoodie was stolen art. Considering that it was consistently across multiple websites, and it seems so thrown together, I can't imagine that someone made that to sell. I genuinely think that someone posted it, it got popular, and then bots and jerks stole it because of its attention to make a quick buck.

I'm willing to bet every single design is stolen.

I can just imagine the heart attack Lixian probably had when thats all he heard. I can just see Lixian just listening to the audio of this, while adding his character to the video. Not 100% listening then all he hears is "Im going to sue you out of existence" from Mark and not knowing the context at first then having to relistening to it to make sure he didn't miss hear Mark. Then hearing Mark panic saying "not you Lixian!" and having the best sigh of relief of his life.

Hey, I know this will likely be buried in the comments but I am the person who did the Unus Annus sweatshirt. I did the art as a Drawception prompt and someone stole the design and put it on a shirt. My username on Drawception is I HAVE NO NAME (Elfling). I just don't want anyone to think that the design was made to cheat out charity. And for the record, It took 5 mins and 27 seconds to draw! I'm glad at least that Amy liked the design! Edit: Just to be clear! I DID NOT MAKE THE SWEATSHIRT! The 'design' on the shirt, the actual drawing was drawn by me. I know how long it took exactly because the website that I drew it on counts how long you draw. I had no part in marketing/selling the sweatshirt! I never intended for the drawing to be used for profit and the drawing itself was stolen to make the sweatshirt!! I can understand how the original wording would be confusing but again to be clear I did not SELL the design.

Bootlegging comes from the prohibition times when smugglers would hide alcohol in their boots and bring them over the border from Canada. That's also where the design for a pocket flask comes from. the curved design made it easier to fit against the leg.

I guess no one is concerned that Markiplier is giving his charity funds to W.H.O.? The organization that's been caught being bribed by China and has ignored/lied about Boomer Remover? It's corrupt, all over the news and is part of the reason why people have died to Boomer Remover. I would've thought Markiplier put more thought and research into the charities he supports. It's basically as oblivious as supporting PETA. It also looks like whatever comment i reply to with this has been taken down. I believe it's either youtube (most likely) or markiplier(staff?moderators?). KZread is not innocent in the Boomer Remover problems. They have been actively censoring things spoken against W.H.O. or Boomer Remover, because KZread is corrupt as well and takes money from places like China and others who do not have our best interests at heart. It could also easily be a problem for Markiplier if it becomes public that he supported W.H.O., as it could be seen as a political stance for China. The term “bootleg” or “bootleggers/legging” comes from the time of the Great Depression. “Bootleggers” were people who would smuggle alcohol. Nowadays, we normalized it as a term for “knock off” or fake.

Not the great depression, but the Prohibition. That term was coined because some would smuggle alcohol by hiding flasks along their legs under their pants and in their boots so as not to be caught.

So after working for a screen printing company for half a year to answer the question on the bath mat it was not screen printing since it has to many colors to be affordable , so the next options are DTG and DTF printing or sublimation. I believe the bath mat was DTG printed onto in order to keep the bath mat functional and looking nice.

Mark at the beginning: "I WILL SUE YOU!" After the bathmat: "I respect you... but I WILL SUE YOU!" At the end: "... Can I sue them?" *Shrugs*

Some people have actually referred to Unus Annus as a kind of cult, but it seemed like it was just the subscribers, for fun. He’s so nice that instead of getting mad and going off on these ppl making these bootlegs, he’s sorta flattered and praising their skills lol. He’s keeping some of these items too like they’re fan arts. If they didn’t sell them but send them to Mark instead then I know he would just love that.

I guess no one is concerned that Markiplier is giving his charity funds to W.H.O.? The organization that's been caught being bribed by China and has ignored/lied about COVID-19? It's corrupt, all over the news and is part of the reason why people have died to COVID-19. I would've thought Markiplier put more thought and research into the charities he supports. It's basically as oblivious as supporting PETA.

i still remember mark reacting to lixian's markiplier animated videos way back when. makes me so happy to see where they've come!

With the bathmat, it's a heatpress. My father and I had a business that did the same type of stuff. You print out a photo on high-release paper, apply it to mats, mouse pads, coffee mugs, etc, then when you put them in the heatpress, the heat and pressure force the ink into the fabric or material and transfers with complete detail. It was a fun job!

Aidan Snyder reselling products in that case is not illegal. Stealing a design or artwork directly and profiting off of it IS illegal because that’s is copyright infringement. He is not targeting people that are making their own designs or original work. People buying and reselling Mark’s official merchandise in some views may be morally wrong but not technically illegal. People directly stealing his designs and producing their own merchandise with the designs for profit without any permission is illegal and is not the same as reselling.
