I believe that the most satisfying aspect of the album is that it's starts with the entire world (Mother Nature, the planet Earth, the world, etc.) and then, slowly but surely, it shrinks down to finally herself with Goodbye. Universe/Earth > Humans > Her relationship > Marina.

I LOVE this!!

Marina dated Jack from Clean bandit for like 5 years I think? The line “But for her it’s just another day” I also thought it meant another woman, but now I think the “her” is Marina, and the relationship ending up broken is just feels like another day for Marina because of the pain in her life. Also in Flowers, I saw a tweet saying that Marina had an obsessive phase with flowers arrangement, and that now in context of the song Flowers she has a flower phase because she was trying to fill the void in her relationship by buying herself the flowers she deserved. Which just makes Flowers feel more emotional 😭

@@iamLiamG well there’s actually 2 collabs - I think Marina was the first artists Clean Bandit did a second song with (don’t quote me) but there was a live song called Disconnect which eventually got recorded due to fan requests I’m pretty sure. I think that predates the relationship but who knows!

From my perspective, the title track relates quite a lot to spirituality, "I am not my body, my mind or my brain. Not my thoughts & feelings, I am not my DNA" sounds like Marina saying that as humans, we are more than our physical forms- our bodies are constantly changing vessels, & our mindsets alter as our lives progress.

during her last album cycle, on twitter at least it kind of caught on within her fanbase to make fun of marina for 'being poor' since the album wasn't commercially successful, so i interpreted part of venus fly trap is her clapping back at those kinds of comments lol. as she should, it's absolutely my favourite new track from the album

tbh i was jamming to purge the poison and singin every lyrics and then marina hit me with highly emotional people and i got whiplash on how different in sound they were 🤣 so after listenin to the whole album i rearranged it with the boppy songs then slower ones just so i could absorb it better. and tbh miss ancient dreams IAML really said "imma shake your album rankings" to me coz i really think it can grow on me alot (froot is quaking 🤣🤣 ) i really like this much mature marina and i like that this album has fusion sounds of all of her albums and able to make it work but still its own. my top 3 in this album is Venus fly trap, Purge the poison and Ancient dreams iaml. (and regards to that love + fear interview it was tbh sad to know her state of mind makin that album and she said that she made orange trees and enjoy your life were "desperate attempts to create happiness in her life" coz shes depressed and tbh changes my perspective when listening to these songs and i now realize why the lyrics and sound were not as "marina" in that album since her state of mind was skewed but i still love that album) bahahahahah long ass side note there🤣🤣 anyways always love yall guys reactions and likin the different settings and bird chirps really adds to the experience when watchin you guys coz it makes it feel very serene and in some ways intimate💛💛💛 cant wait for miss Electra heart and other reactionss xxoo (yet another long comment 😭 )

My favorites are Venus Fly Trap, I Love You But I Love Me More, & Flowers (I think, but it’s so hard to choose!)

i see flowers as a song of like marina's validation or thinking if the guy did care about their relationship. giving flowers are one of the common gifts in relationships, and it can mean something great to the person receiving it. while in the song, it's like the final message before marina officially breaks up with the guy. giving her flowers could mean that the guy did at least show that he loved her, that he cared even for a little bit, which he didn't. 🥀 overall great reaction! i liked that you analyzed each and every song in the album, and made some great points which made me see some of the songs in different light! can't wait for the deluxe this friday!!💖

PANDORA'S BOX: Hi ladies! love the video! I found the album in march & had no idea she had made a new one. I live in Canada & she isn't popular here much yet! I wanted to share, that Pandora's Box in my opinion is about life & living with society. Pandora's box is made up of the 7 evil sins (evil = live) the sins are made up of Greed, Lust, Wrath, Gluttony, Envy, Sloth & Pride. To me typically in society, we have specific personality types & if you think of any classic scary movie with about 6 teens & then the thing that killed them - count it as 7 because we have one of these for the most part constantly shining through us & no balancing for them can potentially turn into a fixation like envy & when you think of the movies 'Jennifer's body' or 'The Roommate'. So now Marina did an amazing job writing this song because she talks as if it's in 1st, 2nd & 3rd person which reinforces my idea of it being society & the mad world we're apart of - 3 perspectives were tapped into. Think also of a time that you've been rejected - now the idea of not being good enough in someone else's eyes & your drive to change their perspective; fixation - when mad or upset, feeling innocence was stripped of you, fury & (want for) power or to rise above begins to take over (EmOtIoNs) & what's the most powerful way to say FUK YOU!? Especially without losing yourself? RISE ABOVE BABY! & make them regret it! this album was a blessing in disguise when I found it & I couldn't be more proud of the woman I've discovered in myself! I hope this response resonates with some of you! :)

Jessie saying that privilege isn't about having extras, it's about not having obstacles. Put that on a magnet! Such a clear and concise way of putting it that I'm surprised I haven't heard before.
