Miss U girls, hope you okay ❤❤
Maybe this is 2 years too late but about the song "Impossible" this is in the bio section: "This was written with [US songwriter and producer] Clarence Coffee Jr., who I did “The Kill” with. There’s an intensity to this track. It’s kind of a comment on a woman in the music industry. There’s this idea of hysteria and archaic representations of women and being able to take control of that. I was thinking of Róisín [Murphy] on this one, and Bat for Lashes." - via AppleMusic "[The song] was a mild comment about being a woman that struggles because they feel like they’re either too loud or they’re not doing enough. It was about internalizing things, becoming paranoid, insecure. For a point, I was under immense pressure to feel like I needed to be the next Adele, which was not the lane that I needed to be in." - via Pitchfork
Dance in the Dark is so BTW 💖
Okay now do stick season
WHERE ARE YOU GUYS
Feels like Bunny is the person we want when we have deep desire, but cant understand if its real or just lust. Not even realizing Bunny knows shes deseriable using that to get her way even it means hurting you. Alot of us understand that feeling. 🧠👏
❤
miss you queens
As a Kiwi, yeah there are some songs were you have to suspend your belief in the lyrics. Lorde is definitely not *middle-class* by New Zealand standards, although class structure in NZ is a lot more nuanced and mixed. One thing I disliked about Lorde is that she says (or never corrected what the media said) that she grew up in Takapuna (which is still quite a well-off area, but more middle-class), when she actually grew up in Devonport which is basically the wealthiest area of Auckland.
have you reacted to her newest album?

This album is such a masterpiece album 😭🦋💞💞💞💞👸👑🍰💅🏻
Still my favourite Marina album (which isn’t to say the others aren’t fabulous too) because it’s got that ‘b*ll*cks to being normal’ attitude, and I want that level of commitment, especially on a debut album. “Create dangerously”, as Albert Camus said.
The song ARTPOP is actually insane. One of the most unique songs I've heard, especially coming from a pop emperess (at the time) In the first verse, art is singing to pop (“Come to me, with all your glamour and cruelty / Just do the thing that you do, and I’ll undress you” - "The *melody* that you choose" In the second verse, pop is singing to art (“Come to me, with all your subtext and fantasy / Just do the thing that you do, in a perverse hue” - "The *color palette* you choose" In the chorus, art and pop tell each other that they can belong together as one entity without separation or distinction. In other words, ARTPOP (one word). Not Art Pop, ArtPop, or Art-Pop. It's just so high concept wrapped in a mesmerizing beat served in the most delicate & strong way, a perfect hybrid. I've never heard anything like it EVER. Oh and don't even get me started on the lyric "Lovers' kites are flown on beaches for public sight" like why is that sentence so beautiful dawg why did I get chills down my spine just typing it?
"America has a problem" samples music from a song of the same name that talks about cocain addiction in the 90s. Beyonce has taken the message of drug addiction and flipped it, America still has a drug problem but this time Beyonce herself is the drug as people are addicted to her, whether their addicted to her talent, her life or even addicted to hating on her and diminishing her. Its quite an interesting and impressive twist.
When I tell you played this CD to death!!! ☠️ Rah Rah

Please please please listen to her next album Miss Anthropoceneeee
As someone who was in church choir most of my adolescence, a thousand eyes gives off VERY HARD hymn energy and I feel like that is what makes this whole album incredible. I'm not religious but it has a very "higher power" vibe to it. It made me feel connected to a god that I've never believed in if that makes sense?
if you want weirdo u need HALFAXA or VISIONS
