Yes. I heard that Marcelito had only studied at the elementary or grade school level. Thus, English and Italian as spoken languages would be very difficult for him to learn.

This was originally a duet with Andrea Bocelli and Céline Dion. Two voices, two language....Marcelito is incredible.

Marcelito is gifted, as marvelous as his voice, a talent bestowed upon him, now he shared his talent to the voice of music🎼

He’s singing the parts of Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. This is a very famous & well known song with the 2 of them. So yes he’s singing a duet singing both parts. He’s also singing in Italian. Both Italian & English are not his native language & others have said that his Italian is excellent. He’s singing in Counter Tenor & Baritone. At the end he had been teased by the engineers about his high voice so he was spitting it out. Other singers have said that some of his high notes are extremely difficult to reach.

Ray, I just found you so I don't know that you call all of the soloists you review 'they' or not, but you hit it right with this performance. Marcelito is definitely a 'they' for "The Prayer". This is a duet with Celine and Andrea Bocelli. Marcelito is the only singer I have ever seen that can precisely imitate a female voice with a fully supported mix. His native language is Tagalog but he is singing in English and Italian flawlessly. His memory allows him to mentally record everything that he hears and his magnificent voice allows him to reproduce the sounds. There is much to know about Marcelito. Welcome to his world. Cheers.

@@daveg.6820 That's just how a lot of younger people speak now. I hear it all the time and if this keeps up then eventually it will become a part of the language. The use of the plural 'you' when talking to one person is another example of how in English a plural pronoun eventually was used for the singular as well, replacing the original singular word 'thou' which is now considered very archaic. Languages evolve and the reason why the word was changed doesn't matter, only the fact that younger people are now using it. It's always the younger generations that evolve languages, while the older generations bemoan the changes and complain about them. It never works and doesn't prevent the change, which will eventually feel natural (just like saying 'you' to one person feels natural to us now). Any non-dead language continues to evolve and with so many diverse speakers, English tends to evolve faster than most. Assuming that people keep using 'they' in place of a gender neutral he/her, this will eventually become a part of the language and future generations may find our usage strange and archaic. That's just how things go.

Yes, the original is a Duett by Celine Dion and the Italian Tenor Andrea Bocelli. And Marcelito is only one person and he is a „he“. Another pretty version of this song is from Pentatonix (all a capella). And yes, all Filipino singers sit down on the Wish Bus!
