They're making fun of America for staging the moon landing
Best song ever
This is from 1979 so anything Bowie would have been influenced by this, not the other way around.
I cry every time
This is one of my favorite songs those two nailed it
I think part of the delayed gratification is the poly/complex rhythm. The time signatures defy expectation leading to that feeling. IMO
Amazing song
Metal rap 🤣🤣🤣
Do you now see what you missed out on ?!!? 😉
As always, a quality reaction... Taylor's contralto(?)... amazing range, awesome style. I think this almost brutal anthem is, with video, a strong commentary on the deleterious effects of clinging to an antiquarian myth system. Her 'reveal" is a perfect criticism of the 'women are veesels of sin" rubbish...I note this choraus has a strong similarity to the progression of the chorus of "Death by Rock and Roll"...
Maynard would tell you that your interpretation is absolutely right…for you. He wants most of his lyrics to be open for interpretation. I’ve always take the song as a clarion call to be a better person. Evolve. Grow.
Its called heavy metal love it or leave it
Somebody else said this, but this is a prime example of when rock music still had balls.
No autotune..
Another of static x songs that was well known was the song called push it, and if you want a great one with the new singer zero, the song otsego placebo would be a great obe for you to check out
Chicken Foot is great but you should do the original by Deep Purple if you haven't already
pretty sure this video is the reason i grew up to like the color blue lol. has such a powerful feeling attatched to this song.
The only naturally born artist was the founder of the group Sid Barrett. He was so unique and his style skyrocketed them into fame but the fame and drugs destroyed his career. The other members were excellent musicians and were inspired by Barrett to become artists in their own right. Some of their songs after Barrett are grievously about him ...Namely, "Brain Damage", "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" and "High Hopes". Everything we know about Pink Floyd has everything and nothing to do with Sid Barrett.
This song is a "by myself" song. It brings up a lot, and seems to flow out of me during this song. But its cathartic, Chester heals me a little more every time it gets to the part Chester sings "well I do". Thank you Chester for the light you continue to shine on us.
I enjoyed the completely justified delight of your reaction to this performance.
Missed opportunity. They could have been Billy Bob.
Imagine you’re in Vietnam, and you first hear this song…
definition of complimentary
His voice is flawless. One of the greatest vocalists to ever live.
Why is it that every time I hear this song I think of the 1990 movie Nightbreed?
Please check out Eva Under Fire's cover of this same song
Lita ford/ kiss 👄 me deadly!
The last 2 minutes are probably the hardest I’ve listened to in OG metal
A song I think is heavier than Sulfur is called Solway Firth from We Are Not Your Kind and lyrically, I think their darkest song has got to be the title track called Iowa
Skynyrd was the best Southern Rock Band to grace the rock world. God has them now and I know they are rocking the Pearly Gates!!
Damn Yankees was another killer supergroup
Love Sammy and Michaels harmony. Sammy's just a beast even in his mid-70s he sounds awesome.
I seen Sammy in concert about 12 years ago 🤘🏼
Check out mad season river of deceit 😮
Te amo
Te omo my amor❤
This was the song that started the "power ballad" craze the every other band started to copy. Mtv had implement the "crue" rule stating no song could be the most requested for like longer than 30 days or something like that. Home sweet home was played around the clock for months on end being the most requested.
You don't even realize all the fears and nightmares your parents put into you and the walls they helped you build
Love this song so much
The moonlanding Just a Show???? Never😅😅😅
You really have to check out Silent Cries by Fates Warning
Id say Alice in chains are goth rock-ish :)
I belive it is a song about the Vietnam war.
Personally, I'm just tickled by the expressions of confusion and disgust of our hostess. It is a strange peculiarity that we live in an age that is meant to be welcoming, open, tolerant and accepting, and yet when some music is played with grit, bass and attitude, confusion and disgust are often the go-to responses. Funny, that.
Everything you're projecting in this observation....we all already know. Anything to add?
My dude they're not emo, they're prog
just listen, learnt so much but know so little
Wayne static was a great singer. I always called him slim Jim guy when I was a kid lol RIP big dawg
Much fun. The final scene of the video is a callback to a certain scene in Pulp Fiction.
