Q: Why isn´t the Marble Machine on the stage?
A: Apart from not really being transportable, the Marble Machine does not work well enough to be used on stage for the moment, too many design mistakes combined prohibits that. BUT! We are going to build a full sized Marble Machine 2.0 that we can tour with in the future. First we are going to record our new album and release that, after the release we will build the new modular Marble Machine 2.0. And then we will tour the world with the new record and the new Machine!
Like, Share and Subscribe for more Wintergatanvideos in the future!
Thanks to Göteborgs Kulturkalas for inviting us to perform on Götaplatsen, all the stage crew that worked with us on this evening and Jesper Kumberg for booking the show.
Thanks also to Emma Weber & Elaine Dowling at makewaveproductions.com
Thanks to You for watching! All the best, Wintergatan
If you want to support:
The fact that you are watching the videos and care about the music and future of Wintergatan is the best support anyone can have, I want to thank everyone who is here for that kind of support, it is really the fuel for the Wintergatan Engine.

Why do we accept support in this way?
I, Martin, can already sustain myself 100% doing what I love to do. If you want to support artists/organisations who have not yet reached that privileged position, please consider supporting other artists/organisations who need the support more. With that said, I have too many ideas and too little time and with your support I can get more help from people around me to execute the ideas better and bring them out in the world faster.

How this sounds good is obviously lots of practice, and it paid off in an unmeasurable way. I could listen to this song, no matter what version, all day.
This tune always gets stuck in my head when I hear it. So cool
Amazing! This really puts things into perspective since you need 5 people to emulate it.

I bet he's talking about the cameraman :)
He is really brilliant he can music like this and with his big music machine amazing talent this guy and his friend s
The guy on the bass is killin' it! Like Flea playing along with a music box.
I love how bouncy they are. So much enthusiasm. This band is amazing.
Stranger: So, what instrument do you play? Me: Marbles
just awesome that Martin Molin grooves on that sound exactly the same way he did on his marble machine vid :DDD
The music is just so much amazing. Fantastic performance I’ve ever seen.
Maybe its just the way I'm feeling today, but this video brought me to tears. All along we've only really heard this beautiful song played by machines, and here it is with live musicans onstage in front of a giant audience. Beautiful.
I love the original, but I have to say this one sounds way smoother than the original.

this really is a tune for the bassist to shine, love it
It feels like every week I need to rewatch this video. I love this song so much (the OG aswell). Its one of these "instrumental songs I always want to sing along"
Oh wow, this popped up in my feed... I was there and it’s all so surreal right now in corona times seeing all the people just enjoying a live concert :/ we take so many things for granted! I long for the day this will be possible again! ❤️

Such good!!! LOVE THAT BASS!!!
Love banging my head to this. INCREDIBILE bass line.
I'm in love with the bass. Perfect song and great job.
Just damn... I wish I could play a bass like that. Love this instrumental.
So goooooooood
they are always the best since I saw their first work ! amazing forever !!
Beautiful song. I love every thing about this video
I cried when I saw the original marble machine video and the tears have returned
Pero qué hermosa melodía... Simplemente es algo fantástico, me encanta. :)
The bass and drums as here are only possible as played by real human drummers and bass guitarists. I just listened to these for the umpteenth time, but for the first time using decent headphones UP LOUD (enough)... to really feel the syncopation in the melody, the 'mood' of the melody and harmony... the 'mood' of the bass solo... the emotion in it all has brought me to tears... the emotion of this music reminds me of the bass solo in the extended live version of Renaissance's (Annie Haslam) "Ashes are Burning"... Live at Carnegie Hall version with 7 min. bass solo. May I be so bold as to claim this Wintergatan performance as PROG ROCK. And as good if not better a live recording, technically, as the one I referenced.
love Love LOVE! Almost as good as the original. NOTHING beats that marble machine version! I listen to it every day!
I thought that "non-marble' version will be more slowly and without pause in the middle... however it's awesome too! Thanks for You and all your band! p.s.: we wating you in Russia :)

I also think that it's a bit too fast. However, the bass line is great. ^^

You're kidding about the tempo right? I thought the original seemed a tad slow so I popped it into WaveGuide and sped up the tempo by about 10-12% before loading it into my iPod and passing the sped up version around. If you play the original and set the playback to 1.25 you get a loose approximation but YT has too many artifacts in its' processing to give a decent rendering. I also upmixed it to Dolby Surround. Now I wanna chart it all out - record it all into MIDI and make it into a surround sound demo track with all the ping ponging and bouncing around like on a 50's stereo demo tape.

Just imagine how amazed the crowd will be when the Marble Machine X rolls onto the stage and Martin starts playing it! Who even needs a four person band when you have a machine that can be controlled by one person who does it all!?
So fun watching this again. Love the way you played the machine!
I had goose bumps all along the way
