    Seven years ago I heard this for the first time. It made me want to start the cello. Now I've been playing for six years and am about to graduate.     We had the privilege to see them in concert in München. These two are absolutely incredible musicians and amazing performers. I’m so happy our, that time, 17 year old son wanted to see them in concert. ❤

    @@rosellabill Depends on the bow. I remember seeing a young virtuoso on maybe a late night show. After her amazing performance the host asked her to show the audience what she had done to a bow in warm up and she pulled out a broken bow. She said it had cost 5k. And this was years ago. The bow string might be cheaper to replace 🤷‍♀️

    Well now, bow strings are expensive. And you're expected 4 hours of playing. I saw these guys (I think) in real life in Vienna before fame. They had many more bows at the ready. That wasn't really much an option until the 90s.

    them woud think it's some odd instrument. Also yeah, it was not meant to do that, because well.. 1750s cello was significantly larger than modern one and sounded differently. Today we have bass and half-bass like that
