Making Moose Summer Sausage | Alaska Boys

During the winter we like to turn our meat from the previous hunting season into tasty sausages, today we are turning ground moose meat and some pork fat into Moose Summer Sausage.

Mark is such a good dad, Everett never gives him a minute of peace and he just lets him help, even if it's just holding his hand to add the liquid smoke. He's so patient. Interesting to see you make sausage from scratch, I learn so much from your channel. Thanks, keep posting🦌

Thank you Pauline. Making sausage has been a skill/hobby I’ve picked us as an adult. Hopefully a little rubs on the kids.

You and Lauren are the best parents. You’re so patient with all the boys while teaching them so many useful things to make them self sufficient men. Imagine how perfect the World could be if everyone took after your example. The summer sausage looked amazing.

Gary got a good chuckle, I mean a funny bone chuckle at the joke at the very end. I don't know, I think Mark needs to get a Hero's Welcome when he gets home with the completed Summer Sausage. I would consider it Festival Like. I LOVED watching the Alaskan Boys, preparing the Sausage. SUMMER is coming, I am excited where we are going, and snacking on the Sausage. Well done Alaska Boys, 5 🌟 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 🌟

We try to let the boys help anytime they want. Over time they seem to really learn how to navigate a kitchen and feeding themselves.

Love when you work with the boys. Your meals make me want to try moose, elk, octopus. What does octopus taste like?

That was impressive and a labour of love for what you do. I get excited when a work place has a Microwave😆 a smoker and a grill you really scored! What's the casing made of that it's edible? Loved it👍

I work for a tribal health organization and gathering and having meals is an important part of their healing process, especially involving traditional foods. Thus, the smoker and grill. Both were used much more in pre-Covid times when they had regular events held at the building. The casing is some type of fiber casing that lets smoke pass through it. It’s not edible though. For the larger sausages you use this kind of casing.
