Only need to make one arm if you're doing a Winter Soldier cosplay though ;)

Great and informative as always Zonbi. One thing I have found for sticking templates to foam without using pins (as I have a bad habit of losing or dropping the things so will end up either with me or the dog standing on them!) is Pritt Stick them to the foam (only need a bit around the edge of template), not sure if have that in the US, they are the white glue stick things for sticking paper to paper. I find they stick onto eva foam with just enough tack to stay down but then peel off easy with no mess left on the foam. Just an idea as handy for smaller fiddly templates.Cannot wait to see your final design on this, looking good so far!

What do you use to trace your patterns? A sharpie? Whenever I use a sharpie on foam it dries out within minutes and is pretty much ruined. I don’t understand.

That foil ball technique is a great idea! Do you have any problems with the 2mm foam ripping during use? Or does layering it with other pieces prevent that?

At what foam thickness do you switch from super glue to contact cement to adhere them together??

Thanks Zonbi! (Still) working on my own greaves right now - so this is a help. Question I have trouble with my contactglue. When I heat the foam to shape it (mine need a kneepadcap thing) the glue warms up and becomes fluid again. Does the glue you are using the same? If not, which are you using - maybe I can get it here in the Netherlands. Again, much thanks for the video as always I love watching them!

Hi Nola! I use Contact Cement / Barge. I've noticed that when my contact cement is old or has been exposed to too much air it doesn't stick and comes apart easily when exposed to heat. If that doesn't solve the issues try layering on multiple coats of your cement. Someone else may have some tips too. There are lots of skilled workers out there!

You should first bend the foam with your heatgun and then hit it with your contact glue, it stays forever and foam doesn't fight the glue while heating it up. Cheers

yea hair dryer is an alternative it works but not as much but hey work with what u got

So the links in the description for the foam don't work... Anyone have suggestions for large sheets of foam? I'm looking to make some Morrowind style Glass armor and will need some bigger sheets then the stuff I'm finding at Michaels now a days...

do have any tips on sanding plaster of Paris cause the con's in 2 weeks and I'm hopeless

Depending on what you've made and the thickness of it (If it's super thin, it won't work) but I recommend gently wetting down your dried plaster with a sponge or towel of some kind to smooth the whole area, then once everything's damp to mostly dry, sand it gently with a sanding sponge or high grit sanding paper (The higher grit, the smoother the finish will be but the longer it may take). DON'T USE LOW GRIT SAND PAPER!! It will leave scratches if you sand too much. You can also make the sandpaper damp if you need to, but make sure the sandpaper you buy is waterproof if you plan to do so. If you have any questions, I'm here to help c;

Could you please tell me what you think of this. So a friend and I were talking about buying your cosplay. Her opinion was that its not ever a good thing. I think its okay if you want to do it. What is your opinion of this topic? And why?
